carb

Avatar f tn Healthy diet is high in unprocessed and minimally processed foods. This means you will eat lean meats in moderation, plenty of green and brightly colored veges, moderate whole grain cereals, some fruits - but stay away or limit portions of very sweet fruits, nuts, some dairy, healthy fats / oils. Bad carbs could be considered those white carbs that break down quickly. This includes bread, white rice, cookies, candies etc.
Avatar f tn Sugar is not just in sweets, candy, etc. Carbs play a part in your sugar intake and glucose levels.
Avatar n tn I Found these cookies that are "no sugar added" and the nutritional facts look good my kids love them and they are large in size. They come in 5 flavors too! www.protocookie.
269786 tn?1243793707 re on insulin the zinc is already in insulin. Type 2 diabetics tend to be low in zinc and can have sugar craving due to this, however, I am not positive how that might affect the non diabetic population yet. Haven't had time to research it :( Also, you might now care ot go to such an extreme, but avoiding refined foods would probably help as well as they tend to cause addictive behavior.
594189 tn?1386916607 Smart carbs tend to be whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables. Basically things high in fiber are smart carbs. I thinking that milk is a protein? Going with Skim or 1% is good. I have much to learn myself yet but I do know that I have been basically following the Canadian Food Guide which highly promotes whole grains.

Avatar f tn My daughter got T2 in her 6th month. She has one month remaining. Were you T2 before your became pregnant? My daughter has made an amazing impact on her glucose levels, by doing what I do: Treat carbs like they're a poison to your body. I don't calculate glycemic loads, or consider good carbs and bad carbs. Rather, I avoid them entirely if at all possible. Now... I live on handfuls of almonds, peanuts, walnuts, and cashews. Cheese!.
Avatar f tn Once you start checking your sugars the nutritionist will help you modify if needed. I still have sweets like sugar free jello and whipped cream in a can pretty much no carbs. I have found sugar free cookies. Over thanksgiving I did a Apple pie with splenda and all my readings were fine. Try not to stress the meal plan can take some time to adjust but it's totally worth it in the end. I'm 36 week +1 and had my ultrasound today my little guy is perfect!
Avatar f tn ll start really having to pay attention to your diet and count carbs. I get 15g of total carbs a snack and 45g of carbs a meal. Three meals 2-3 snacks a day. This time around my levels have been less consistent. My dietitician told me that's normal with the second round as the body has a harder time controlling the pancreas.
Avatar n tn The new insulin Lantus and Novolog does seem to allow me to gain weight more easily but I was able a while back to take off some 25 pounds by staying away from FAT and Lower my Carbs. When sugar went low used quick acting sugar like glucose gel or Coke stayed away from cookies candy bars ect to get it up. Excercise helped not pound wise but did loose inches. Best thing was to eat close to Zero Fat and Low Carbs.
Avatar f tn I use a protein shake from complete nutrition. It's the v-core brand & the flavor is cookies & cream. It's low on carbs & sugar & it tastes great! Kills my cravings everytime.
Avatar f tn i need to stop eating bread and sugar. i gained 13 lbs after finishing hcg diet in feb.
Avatar f tn I don't think it should be a problem if you have 1 once in a while,I'd be more concern about the sugar levels in the beer, even non alcohol beers have high levels of sugar, carefully check the labels for ingredient content....
Avatar f tn and I have lots of fruit (juices and smoothies, no extra sugar, are good and refreshing in summer), lean meat (especially chicken and turkey), eggs, potato (boiled or baked, no fat), and cereal, mainly corn and rice. My advice, just avoid all flour (bread, cookies, pasta....) and eat normally.
6918915 tn?1395932871 ve been eating eggo waffles, nutrigrain bars, bread, cereal, and ginger cookies. Normally before pregnancy I rarely ate refined carbs like that because I am gluten sensitive and it made me gain weight. So now I am worried I am going to gain too much weight and also that being that those things don't have alot of nutrients the baby isn't going to get enough nutrition in this crucial first trimester.
Avatar f tn White carbs (white bread, flour pasta, crackers, white rice, pastries, donuts, etc) Sugar (no white or brown sugar, no sugar substitutes, no honey) No soda (no regular or diet soda) No fruit juice (unless organic, all natural and unsweetened) No energy drinks, gatorade etc.
Avatar f tn What kinds of exercising are you doing? Cardio is best if you wasn't to lose weight, along with a little bit of strength training because muscles help to burn calories faster. Also, even though you're on a low cal diet it could still be the types of foods you're eating that are keeping you from losing weight. You want to stay away from sugary foods and things high in carbs, because carbs turn into sugar and sugar turns into fat. Though some carbs are okay, just don't over do it.
369861 tn?1306275686 You do need carbs but try to go for the complex carbs that take longer to break down and simple carbs like sugar. Fruits and veggies both have fiber (complex carb), plus there's whole wheat bread, oatmeal, cereals, etc. Simple carbs enter your blood stream very quickly and your blood sugar spikes, then all of a sudden it crashes and you hit rock bottom, get that weak, shaky, maybe even light headed feeling. By staying with the protein and complex carbs, you can help avoid that.
