636891 tn?1365202536 I'm on Metformin for appetite control. I've been able to control my diabetes for four year's with diet alone. A1C is 5.7 and has been 5.4 to 5.7 for four year's. I was diagnosed with diabetes in 2004. I guess I'm just lucky to be able to control it. I eat cheerio's with a light yogurt in the morning and it seems to keep me stable until about noon.

Avatar f tn First off, have you had your thyroid checked to make sure it's functioning properly? Hypothyroidism not only causes weight gain, it can cause miscarriage, difficulty conceiving and a lot of other symptoms.. Ask your doctor to test TSH, Free T3 and Free T4. I do have some input, but you probably won't like it. Was the bagel with jelly, milk and banana for one meal?

Avatar f tn Idk, I just think some people gain more than others... I was 150 by 26 weeks... My doctor told me my healthy weight gain was around 45-50pounds and I feel like yours would be sort of around the same. Bread has carbs so if you're not working it off it'll turn to fat but in all honesty, you need some carbs occasionally. Your diet sounds good, I really don't see a huge problem.

It is 10, and so far I have had a bagel, a yogurt, and a handful of almonds. I went to the gym and worked out for an hour, can't believe how out of shape I am! 20 minutes on the elliptical about killed me!
Avatar f tn if you can stick to it for 3-7 days, you will feel a noticeable change in your body. If you have to have carbs, do the healthy kind, but really give it a try, just for a couple of weeks. It is a great jump start for any diet and you will feel your belly seem instantly less bloated and feel less hungry and munchy all of the time. Eat lots of fiber to stay full. Good luck!

1301482 tn?1325722991 she literally ate less than 10 carbs in total a day. And she lost a TON of weight, but unless she eats like that forever she'll gain it back as quick as she lost it. I have heard a lot of people say low carb works for them, but I can't seem to stick to it!!
Avatar f tn Working out isn't really enough. It's amazing how easy it is to consume calories and how hard it is to burn them off. Are you using the food and activity loggers? Using a food logger was a real eye-opener for me; I didn't realize just how many calories I actually consumed in a typical day and I certainly didn't realize just how bad carbs are for you.

Avatar f tn for me, anything with carbs helped. in the morning, i used to vomit after 30 mins when i woke up. now, i just get a real small bowl if grape nuts, or 1/4 of a bagel. i still vomit, but its less frequent.
Avatar f tn Even a banana is fine - it is healthy and filling and full of fiber and potassium. An apple a day is good for you. I like sugar snap peas for a crunchy snack. Hummus comes in many flavors. I like Sabra brand. Try making turkey chili with lots of kinds of beans and vegetables like sweet corn, sweet onion, lima beans, diced tomatoes with tomato sauce.

I seem to always be hungry though. I like to have popcorn (Orville 94% FF) in the evening and I use 1 TBSP of real butter on it. I drink FF Peach Tea, no pop........Can you give me an idea what I am doing wrong? I also do water exercises 3-4 times a week....

I have done test to see my heart rate and everything came back fine. I have passed out 4 times in my life, at the age of 8, 15, 19, 20 after I pass out I have to use the bathroom, and than I'm fine. From time to time I have killer headaches and sometimes i feel lite headed when doing nothing. I have never passed out when playing basketball at full steam.

My doctor comes in and asked why i gained so rapid almost 2,lbs a week since the last appt. i said i ate out a bit more.. She told me to buy a cookbook and learn how to cook.. I told her i know how to cook and grill and my hubby bakes i explained what i eat during the day which is usually a bagel with cream cheese, apple as a snack, PB&J for lunch..
Avatar n tn I take AM and PM Lantus. Just started on Actos 15mg. I've started reducing my simple carbohydrates a lot. Cereals, Breads, Potatoes, Rice, high carb. veggies. Substituting low carb veggies, low carb fruits, avocadoes. In 2 weeks I've reduced night time Lantus from 25U to 10 U and BS in AM 90- low 100's. Yesterday enjoyed burger with L&T,onion, mayo on lettuce with no bun.. Today I made unbreaded baked zucchini with tomato sauce and mozz. cheese. I'm also exercising more.
