If you want to reduce the number then think less carbs and sugars, thats how it works. The
carbs/sugars in the bread and granola
bar would increase your sugar.
Think of it this way, carbs and sugars put in your body is fuel, like gas in car, you have to burn it somehow. I do light house work, or increase my water intake, or go for a light walk.
Whats happening is your body isent using/absorbing the sugars so its just staying in your body, and it can cause the baby to gain weight faster.
