18337299 tn?1464101903 Honey is healthier than brown sugar, which is not much different than white sugar, but either way both are mainly carbs with more carbs than Truvia! I personally use an all natural pure coconut sap, which looks like brown sugar, but has minerals and vitiamins, with a low glycemic index of only 35. Worth looking into it.
Avatar n tn Honey is a carbohydrate (carb) and like all carbs it will raise your BG. How much depends on you and how much honey you eat.
Avatar f tn Did this person tell you to cut all carbs, or just simple carbs? Vegetables are carbs. Fruit are carbs. Whole grains are carbs. Beans are a combination of protein and carbs. I think what most would advise is to avoid white flour, bagels, sweets, anything that turns to sugar quickly in your system. That's why you're craving sugar -- carbs are necessary for energy, and sugar is quick energy but also stores as fat if not burned immediately. Same with processed carbs.
Avatar f tn First and foremost thing to cut down on is refined sugar and anything that contains it! Also jaggery, honey, brown sugar & zero-kcal sweeteners!! Try this and you'll be amazed to see how quickly you lose fats...
Avatar f tn Maybe a sweet potato for lunch. Try to stick with healthy carbs (sweet potato, brown rice, oatmeal are my go to's) make sure you are eating any and all carbs early in the day. Also berries with honey (strawberries, black berries, blue berries, raspberries) is a great healthy snack. Honey is a slow burning carb, and berries are naturally lower in sugar than other fruits, so no sugar crash later. Honey that is locally cultivated can also help with outdoor allergies.
Avatar f tn Hi ladies, I am going through the same struggle. I was diagnosed with GD at 26 weeks. Mornings I'll have two scrambled eggs with a thin toast with natural peanut butter and water. For me, the hardest is dinner. For lunch I usually have a very low carb and low sugar wheat wrap with chicken, tuna or steak with just lettuce and Boar's Head natural honey mustard, which has minimal carbs and sugar. Dinner for me is the hardest after a long day.
Avatar f tn You can switch to whole grain pastas and bread, brown rice, etc. While they do contain carbs, potatoes are very good for you. A baked potato with the skin, provides more potassium than bananas, plus they have other essential vitamins/minerals. Most often, it's the condiments, such as gravy, butter, sour cream, cheese added to the potatoes that cause the weight issues.
Panda We do know that ALL carbohydrates raise Blood Glucose (BG) let me repeat that ALL carbs raise BG rice, pasta, potato, wheat (bread), sugar, honey, most fruit ALL contain significant amounts of carbs and will raise BG. Get a BG (Blood Glucose) meter. Test before you eat, test 1 hour after you eat. if your BG is too high you eat too many carbs. Too high is over 140 (US measure) 7.8 every ware else.
Avatar m tn there are a few links that come up and they all basically say a low GI diet. Some low GI foods would be wholegrain brown bread, brown rice and no added sugar Alpen. They satisfy u for longer and are slow releasing so that there isn't too much insulin produced to break down the sugar. What we need to avoid is sugar rushes coz we cant handle them an put on weight.

8102917 tn?1402457914 I've been using a honey and brown sugar scrub on my face at night and in the morning and my skin is back beautiful and completely cleared up. Its just honey out of the glass jar with the little piece of honeycomb in it and great value brand brown sugar and I mix the two to create a scrub. Here's what I do: 1. Wet a clean washcloth with steamy hot water (as hot as you can handle wothout it burning) lay that over my face and press on it with my hands 2.
Avatar f tn I used brown sugar and honey scrub for mime that I made myself it cleared me up I just warm the honey a little in the microwave and add a little brown sugar then put a warm washcloth compress on my face and use the scrub let it stay for about 5-10 mins then take it off with a warm washcloth and let my face airdry
Avatar f tn Depending on your current weight and height and the amount of exercise you're doing, you may have cut your calorie intake by too much. If you don't take in enough calories, your metabolism actually slows down. Your exact calorie needs should be calculated, based on your age, weight height. Insulin resistance can cause weight gain. What type diabetes do you have? Do you take insulin for it or do you control it some other way? Is it under control?
Avatar n tn For dinner I will have about 35 carbs rice and vegi and chicken. I will walk 30 mins after that. Am I taking too little carbs. What problems will it cause by having too little carbs? If I keep doing this forever will I have diabetes complications? I think I consider myself pre-diabetes at this point and yet I need to be confirmed by the doctor. Thanks a lot.

Avatar f tn t know how tall you are, you might be fine the way you are, but resistance training combined with eating more protein (running usually requires more carbs) might help you add muscle, which adds healthy weight. You might want to alternate that with your running.
767148 tn?1257302551 The easiest way to do it would be to click on "enter your own food", then enter the data (calories, fat, carbs, protein, etc) from your package of spenda. Then each time you want to enter splenda in your food diary, that would be the one you would click on. That way you would be guaranteed to get the correct one, showing no calories.
Avatar m tn It works for me. Yes, you have to watch the amount of carbs you eat but it does matter what kind of carbs they are and where they fall on the GI. As for rice, white or brown, it has the same effect on my blood sugar (a bad one!) and so I have cut it out of my diet. Pumpernickel works for me and does not spike my glucose levels. The best pasta to eat is a brand called "Dreamfields"; it is specially processed to reduce the amount of digestible carbs.
Avatar f tn Thanks. How can I tell how much carbs will raise my BG? Trial and error, or is it pretty standard for 4 grams to raise it 20 points??
Avatar f tn You need carbs to live. Look up how carbs help you and how they don't. Make sure you are taking prenatals as well!
