Once morning sickness hit, I had to stop working out. I plan to once I feel better but I'm still not up to it. Anyway, when I'm not feeling the absolute nausea, I want nothing but junk. And you ladies know how hard it is to resist pregnancy cravings.

How do I know how many NET CARBS are in a food? Personally, I like caloriekingdotcom for looking up foods but you can also use a paperback book of foods w/nutritional analysis or read those government analysis labels on packaged goods. Decide on your personal goal for total daily intake of NET CARBS.
Avatar f tn s cooked, so blue cheese on pizza is ok. If you want to eat tuna, eat plenty of fresh coriander afterwards (add it to a fruit smoothie or juice it with plenty of fruits). Coriander helps take metals out of the body.
1211508 tn?1343079605 Agreed, carbs can definitely increase sugar in the blood, which is why it's best to eat pasta and bread that are whole-grain, or quinoa, rather than wheat or white flour pasta. I also thought one glass of wine was healthy consumed one time a day, I guess this could be the difference between white or red, not sure about that. Having said this, I don't think you're reading is super abnormal, how old are you?
Avatar f tn no more carbs. Eat lots of veggies, one portion of fruit only, one handful of raw nuts, low fat dairy, high fat fish, lean meat. The increase in protein will keep you from getting hungry and on the long term completely abolish any cravings. Also, no deep frying, no butter, but olive oil and canola instead. No more rice, pasta, potatoes, flour.... My Dad eats that way for 5 yearsby now, is very healthy and lost 30 kgs during the first year. Good luck!

She loves curry, rice, bolengaise, pasta stir fry, bread, home made pies and quiche not many fruit + veg i cook everything my self i dont do processed food much even pizza i use ciabatta bread or tortille or nan bread for the base she does not eat potatoes only roast on a sunday so it is hard to fill her plate in evening. Please help i think food is a lot to do with her learning difficulties.
Avatar n tn Pregnancy is so fun, isn't it? ha ha. But all for a wonderful cause and congratulations. You don't have to eat more than usual as that's kind of a myth. But just eat healthy when you do eat. Make each food you take in count-- lean protein, good carbs, fruits and vegi's. Are you nauseated and that is why you aren't eating?
Avatar f tn If your on a gd diet you just have to manage your protein and carbs. You can pop something in the oven and eat meat just watch the starch you pair with it. I usually eat a lot of meat since it's carb free to help feel me up and double up on veggies and keep my bread/rice/pasta/potatos/beans to very minimal.

It's great that you are eating breakfast - too often we tend to skip that meal - even myself at times. Depending on the type of sausage, bacon (and how it was cooked) and cheese, it would appear that there might have been an excess amount of fat for breakfast. If the chicken breast was grilled or broiled, lunch would have been ok, except lacking in a wide range of nutrients.
Avatar f tn Pasta salads are good too, and if you use whole wheat noodles its healthier carbs. I love cottage cheese with fruit...to keep fruits and veggies interesting try diff. kinds of dips, hummus, yogurt dip etc...

My goal (since I was overweight before I got pregnant) was to not gain any weight. I had only gained 12lbs till I was 7 months pregnant... then I put on A LOT. Im up 30lbs now in total and Im due in a week.

Most people find avoiding sugars and refine carbs (which can even include grains and fruits), will be the best approach. Note: if you eat a high fat meal (pizza for example, the peak rise in blood sugar may be delayed). If you have something very sweet and without fibre such as fruit juice, your peak may occur earlier.
Avatar f tn If you crave carbs like bread, crackers, and fruit, then you need more instant carbs. I normally only allow myself 1/4 c nuts daily, unless you eat no other carbs except meat and veggies, then you can up it to 1/2 c. Otherwise, maybe do the whole half a sandwhich and peanut butter, will fill you up more. Only do the pretzels if you crave bread.
