Avatar f tn Whole grain cereal Fruit and yogurt Whole grain toast with peanut butter, fruit Hard boiled egg As long as you stay with complex carbs, which are those in whole grains, veggies, fruits, such as apples pears, etc.you should be okay. The complex carbs are the ones that provide fiber to keep you feeling fuller longer. Also be sure to get plenty of protein with every meal. Eggs and whole grains are excellent sources of protein, as is dairy.
5747555 tn?1408727657 This means high carbohydrates. For fruits you should eat fruits low in sugar such as cranberries, lime and blackberries. Bread, cake, pastries, pasta and foods with breadcrumb or battered coating should be avoided. For more details and queries it is suggested to consult a nutritionist. I hope it helps. Best luck and regards!
Avatar m tn The total amount of net carbs you eat in a day is one number to watch, and the total number of net carbs you eat all at once is another number to watch. So lets say you limit yourself to 50 net carbs a day. (net carbs is total carbs minus fiber carbs.) A snack is sometimes suggested to be 15 net carbs. (Yum, chunk of cheese and handful of pecans!) Offhand I dont know the net carb of an apple but you can look that up and think about it.
Panda We do know that ALL carbohydrates raise Blood Glucose (BG) let me repeat that ALL carbs raise BG rice, pasta, potato, wheat (bread), sugar, honey, most fruit ALL contain significant amounts of carbs and will raise BG. Get a BG (Blood Glucose) meter. Test before you eat, test 1 hour after you eat. if your BG is too high you eat too many carbs. Too high is over 140 (US measure) 7.8 every ware else.
1363757 tn?1277819546 Google good carbs vs bad carbs is a start. However, even good carbs, as with any food, can affect an individual in different ways. Test prior to a meal and 2-3 hrs following to see how that food affected your glucose levels. Keep a written log as a reminder as to what foods you should be eating. Fruits have fructose, fruit sugar. Tropical fruits, oranges, and like are high in fructose. Berries & some melons on the other hand are low in fructose.
Avatar f tn I dont crave a lot of fruit but definitely veggies!
Avatar f tn Keep up with the fruits, but consider how much sugar they have in them. Some fruits are high in calories, but better fruit than cookies or junk food. :) Consider eating smaller meals but snacking throughout the day. Don't go hungry, and never deprive yourself of an entire food group. Eating healthy should feel good. You shouldn't feel like you're depriving yourself too much. And lastly, don't obsess over the scale.
Dog Take care to avoid all dried fruits (ALL dried fruits are HIGH in fructose) and eliminate artificial fruit juices while limiting consumption of fruits highest in fructose. Fruits such as: * Grapes, Apples, Pears, Cherries, Pomegranate, Kiwi, Blackberries, Blueberries, Watermelon, Raspberries, Starfruit, Purple Passion Fruit.
Avatar f tn simple carbs are those found in sugary foods, white breads and regular pasta, sodas, etc. Simple carbs are broken down quickly and if not used right away for energy, will be stored as fat. These are the ones that should be avoided. Complex carbs are those found in vegetables, most fruits and whole grains. Complex carbs are the dietary fiber we need, to fill us up. These take longer to break down and are not absorbed, as fat.
Avatar f tn I have a huge bowl of pineapple, grapes, and strawberries in my fridge. Lol. That has been my worst (best) craving lol fruit fruit and more fruit!
Avatar n tn much better than fruit juice. But some fruits have more sugar so you should test normally and not pair it up with other carbs.
Avatar f tn Bananas is definitely good for nausea.. If you like juices apple and orange is good.Drinking natural fruit juices is a good way to get your daily intake of fruit.
Avatar f tn And I never a lot of sweets but with every meal that u eat only take in 30 carbs. Breakfast 45 carbs, snack, lunch 30 carbs, snack then dinner 30 carbs then snack. You can eat all the protein u want too just not carbs or sugar.
798555 tn?1292787551 My diet is pretty much poultry for meat / protein, veggies , fruit. The only sugar I intake is in granola bars. I stopped eating potatoes last year. No white rice, only brown or American wild rice. I have had Autoimmune Hashimoto hypothyroid for at least 20 years, that is enough - on natural thyroid for that and doing OK.. Doc says diabetes is very possible based on my health facts. I will do what ever is needed to avoid diabetes, but ran out of ideas.
Avatar f tn since carbs turn into surgar eat every meal and stay away from sugar that includes natural sugars like in fruits and juices.
Avatar f tn t want to cut them out, but I understand they are a source of carbs and natural sugar. I do watch my portions, and eat about a piece of fruit with every meal. I eat breakfast, snack, lunch, another snack, and dinner. I do cheat sometimes, but my goal is to keep insulin regulated. I don't drink soda or fruit juice, just water and the occasional coffee. Any advice on diabetes prevention? I definitely don't want to develop that, and I want my body to be at its fat burning peak. Thanks!
Avatar f tn Most fruits people think of as fruits are almost all carb. If it's not fat or protein it's carbohydrate, which is why the whole concept of low carb diets is off. Vegetables are carbohydrates, but it wouldn't be healthy do without them. What low carb really means, or should mean, is avoiding simple carbs, such as sugar and white flower. Most fruits as we think of them are high in sugar, though it's not as quick to metabolize into simple sugar as processed cane sugar.
Avatar f tn Does you count other carbs in breakfast cereals when counting for carbs? Very confused with a 7yr old diabetic diagnosed 8 months ago.
Avatar m tn carbohydrates raise BG... ALL carbs raise BG. fruit contain carbs... fruit will raise BG. Fruit juice is concentrated fruit, fruit juice is has even more sugar than fruit. fruit juice will raise BG faster than fruit. In fact fruit juice is used to treat people with low BG because it is very effective at RAISING BG For people with T1, the ONLY treatment that works is insulin. If you are getting good numbers with using pills then you cant be T1. a BG of 113 is good numbers.
Male things which we should all avoid and the complex carbs, such as those found in vegetables, whole grains, fruit, etc. Those are the carbs that provide dietary fiber, which is necessary for good digestive health. They aren't digested as quickly as the white versions, so they won't spike your blood sugar. Do watch portion sizes, though. Try switching to brown rice, whole grain pasta and bread, etc.
470885 tn?1326329037 I was only very mildly queasy with DS - I'd gag in the morning if I opened the fridge and caught a whiff of something. But for the rest of the day I was fine. This time around, starting this past week (I'm 6.5 weeks along), I've been feeling sick off and on pretty much all day. I notice that it seems worse around lunchtime and then again right before bed. I haven't thrown up - yet - but I've been close several times. And I only want carbs (pasta, toast)....and eggs.
