carb

Avatar f tn I am nauseated pretty much all day but what bothers me the most is that pre pregnancy all I usually ate was fruit veggies and proteins with some healthy carbs. Now I can't even look at veggies without wanting to throw up! I can eat fruit but I am going into carb overload I swear. I used to never eat fries or hamburgers, but that is all I can stomach now! I'm bummed because I'm worried I will pack on the pounds and I want to eat the good stuff for my baby growing inside me!
8765540 tn?1407588917 I'm 29 weeks and 3 days baby is the size of a butternut squash and I have 69 days left until my csection
Avatar f tn Ohh and upping your veggies and fruit is just water weight to you. I followed what my dr said with upping my protein and he caught up. Although he was still only 5.
Avatar f tn Your starchy vegetables (potatoes, corn, and peas), all grains, all fruit, milk and yogurt count as carbs. Avoid fruit juices and sodas, not to mention candys, cakes, cookies....
Avatar f tn Carrots, broccoli and fruit are not fattening; most veggies have few to no calories, if they are steamed or grilled. They should NOT be avoided. Bread and pasta made from whole grains are also very healthy. There are 2 types of carbs: simple carbs are those found in sugary foods, white breads and regular pasta, sodas, etc. Simple carbs are broken down quickly and if not used right away for energy, will be stored as fat. These are the ones that should be avoided.
Avatar f tn You need a healthy mix of lean protein, low/no fat dairy, whole grains and LOTS of veggies for vitamins, fiber, complex carbs........ veggies are actually healthier than fruit because they don't have the high sugar content. I actually believe that you need to limit your fruit intake to 1-2 servings/day in order to reduce the sugar content.
Avatar f tn Ive had GD for 3 months and its stressful at times because im so hungry and cant pig out on any sweets or carbs. Basically stay away from sugar and carbs. Also watch your fruit intake because those are carbs. Basically my day consists of: wake up and prick myself to check my fasting sugar level, eat two eggs and half an english muffin, prick myself 2 hours after breakfast, eat a snack which is a small apple and cheese or half a banana and peanut butter.
Avatar f tn Meats, chicken, pork, fish, tofu. Salads and veggies some fruit. Google diabetic menu and see what pop's up.
1157811 tn?1263831494 Complex carbs in fruit and veggies, whole grain breads, crackers, cereal and pastas are good. Nuts seeds and legumes are complex carbs also. These are good carbs. Bad carbs are sugar, white bread, white pasta, deserts, cookies, donuts, pop and chips. Stuff like that. I would also keep away from high carb foods at night. I have also found that simple carbs make me very hungry. This is because your body gets a rush of sugar and then it drops suddenly making you hungry.
Avatar f tn Stay away from carbs, drink lots water, eats plenty veggies, fruit is good just in moderation
1301482 tn?1325722991 Cut out sugar, bread, pasta, rice and potatoes. Eat eggs, fruit, veggies, lean meats such as pork loin and turkey breast, white fish, nuts in moderate quantities, and as for dairy, allow yourself some edame cheese every other day or so, as well as fat free yogurt. One day in my diet looks like this: Breakfast: omelet (1 egg or 2 whites and 1 yolk) w/ a couple of baby plum tomatoes, a big mushroom, a spring onion and a couple of spinach leaves.
1472764 tn?1287588186 yep, carbs always taste better! I'm a chicken and veggies girl too, and couldn't touch either one for quite a while. Just listen to your body and know that as you progess, you will probably be able to tolerate healthier options. Chicken, steak and fish, however, were always hard for me my last pregnancy. But with my daughter, bring on the cheeseburgers! PB&J and grilled cheese sandwiches always sounded good too.
Avatar f tn Apple Cidar Vinegar Pills and Cayenne Fruit pills everytime you eat. Eat a lot of veggies & fruit. Also, do not eat refined carbs, stick with whole wheat. Odwalla Juice is great as a snack.
Evillady So reducing the carbs you eat will help in BG control. So I eat salad and steak, veggies, no fruit (fruit has a lot of carbs) eggs, bacon, cheese, chicken, fish, garlic, and lots of herbs and spices and hot spices. There are other diabetic news groups with recipe sections.
Avatar n tn Limit your carbs if it's medically possible - when you do eat carbs, do it in veggies, fruits, and brown rice. Look up recipes from nutritionists and make those. Start taking walks as often as u can.
1407457 tn?1281317353 Does anyone know much about the best way to lose weight with PCOS? I currently do weight watchers and will lose small amounts, but my doctor did mention watching how many carbs i'm eating. I need more direction than that though. With weight watchers we don't even look at carbs so I don't know if it's possible to do both. Any suggestions on the best way to lose some weight??
492921 tn?1321289896 My bf's mom cooked us dinner she made a dish with pork chops green beans baked in cream of mushroom soup. It was delicious. However I found myself eating all the greenbeans and only two or three bites of the pork chop. I usually love pork chops. It's not that I can't eat it I just find myself not choosing meat right now. I have noticed over the last few weeks I have been eating less meat and a ton of fruits and veggies. I'm always eating!
Avatar n tn Eat smaller meals as often as you can. try to avoid too many snacks because they have a lot of sugar and carbs that you really don't need. Fruit is nice and light and can be filling. Yogurt is good, oatmeal is very filling.
Avatar f tn s a lot of boneless skinless chicken breast, rice, pasta, salad, fruit, and frozen veggies. I snack on reduced fat string cheese, juice, and tortillas when I get hungry. However, I've noticed that following my menstrual cycle, I feel slightly dizzy if I go without food for more than a few hours. I get pressingly hungry, and when I eat, can only finish about half of what I prepare before I get full. Two hours later, I'm urgently hungry again. I'm constantly thirsty as well.
Avatar n tn Is there a list somewhere of foods and there carb value. Also which are good carbs and which are empty carbs? Gaining 1/4 of her body weight seems excessive.
Avatar f tn Thank you, I will try hard.
Avatar n tn You will need to stick with those foods that will not raise your blood sugar quickly, such as high quality proteins, whole grains, lots of veggies and some fruits (i.e. complex carbs). Some fruits have much more sugar than others, so will raise your blood sugar almost as quickly as eating candy. It's always best to consume whole fruit, rather than juice, since with the whole fruit, you get the added benefit of the fiber.
8526246 tn?1405601876 For lunch I get 1 milk, 3 veggies, 1 fruit, 3 carb, 3 meat, 2 fat. Afternoon snack I get 1 fruit, 1 carb, 1 protein. For dinner I get 3 veggies, 1 fruit, 3 starch, 4 protein, 3 fat. Bedtime snack I get 1 milk, 1 carb, 1 protein. It's a lot of food. I found salads worked well and I combined a lot of my food that way. Also1 serving of milk = 12 ggrams of carb, 1 serving of fruit = 15 grams of carb, breads and starch = 15 grams of carb.
Avatar f tn treatment for PCOS is the elimination of processed foods such as breads and bread products and eat lots of veggies, lean meats, healthy fats, nuts, seeds, etc. Avoid fruit, except for one serving/day, or any simple carbs that spike the blood sugar, which, in turn spikes insulin levels. This will help with weight loss, which will help with the symptoms of PCOS. Here's a link to the other thread: http://www.medhelp.
