Avatar f tn So my husband, son and I took our dogs to the nearby park to walk a 5k. I didn't know if I would make it that far, my sciatic nerve bothered me the whole time, and I now have new blisters on my feet. Yay. Hoping this at least helps to get something started.
Avatar m tn I was rather looking for any information regarding negative effects of exercise, supplements and alcohol on the microadenoma in my head, as not to aggravate it. Not just about carb and protein loading in general to gain muscle mass, and to use d-asparic acid to raise your bodys naturals test levels. That's just exercise science, consume more train more gain more.
Avatar f tn I certainly feel like I have the flu. But is the normal for the very first day? And how long does it take for your body to get used to this?
Avatar f tn My bf and I had planned to run a 5k next wknd. What do you think? I have been told not to over exert myself like that....
Avatar f tn In a lot of illnesses (physical and mental health), there appears to be a "genetic loading" where people will have a certain amount of the required genetics but that a severe biopsychosocial trigger turns the genes "on." The heavier the genetic loading, the less severe the trigger needs to be...it's a huge start to see scientists finding these triggers.
Avatar n tn m tired all the time and I eat as much as possible! I am taking protein shakes 5 times a day and carb loading. I stopped exercising (when I started losing) and I don't know what else to do! I had to quit my job before summer break so I lost a couple pay checks. My stomach is growing (as are my breasts) but everything else is going away. We were trying for 6 years to have this baby and sadly, she is eating me away. Does anyone have any advice? Has anyone ever heard of bed rest at 17 weeks?
193609 tn?1292180293 OK Ladies .. I, too, want to do a 5K by the end of the year. You two seem to be our resident experts! Cheyenne is doing research to learn and Lucinda has run them! Do you two think you might want to make some community posts about this and see if we can get a "how to" program started? Besides .. I would seriously like to do this with you and perhaps you can put a call out for anyone else who might be interested!???
Avatar m tn Maybe you could try a 5k event! Get the memento and be chuffed. And 5k is a good foundation to run 10k for most people, no problem, if that is your goal.
193609 tn?1292180293 Well ladies, my goal for the end of the year is to run a 5K....well, I have NEVER been a runner in my life so that is a pretty big goal for me! When I was a kid, I couldn't run and I was always the fat kid. Anyways, I was DETERMINED to run a 5k. So last night, I was laying in bed and decided that I was going to run the 5K loop on the treadmill in under 45 minutes. (15 min mile is kinda slow pace, but I really wanted to set an achievable goal). Well, I actually did it! I ran the 3.
988694 tn?1332359479 Hi, low carb diet works wonders for diabetics. I went on a low carb diet, lost approx 100 lbs ! which put my diabetic levels back into normal range. As for thyroid function, I never noticed any changes in my hormone labs, due to low carb diet.
Avatar n tn they give me indigestion. I do make low carb breads from time to time (particularly for my children) out of almond flour or coconut flour. There are some great low carb website for lowcarb baking (alldayIdreamaboutfood) is a great one. However, I mostly just stick with basic foods. Breakfast is typically just coffee with cream. Both lunch and dinner will typically be some sort of meat and veges.
Avatar m tn Depending on your results from your blood sugar meter you may need to eat much lower carb to manage blood sugars. This is called "eat to your meter" appraoch. An alternative low carb approach recommended by Dr. Bernstein is detailed in his book "Diabetes Solutions" and also discussed on Utube at "Bernstein Diabetes University". He recommends typically about 30 g of carbs / day mostly from non-starchy veges. You will need to experiment and see what works for you.
973741 tn?1342342773 However, the latest approach is to take a much more aggressive approach to diet. NOT low fat, high carb any more, but instead low carb, moderate protein and enough fat for energy. This is the approach endorsed by Dr. Richard Berstein (Book: diabetes solutions, and U-tube lecture series "Bernstein Diabetes University") and also many who follow ketogenic or low carb way of eating.
Avatar f tn Please comment below•• I am only 27 years old making $38 with a new job I started in May. I applied for govt assistance once I found out I was preg but I got denied because I make $516 over the monthly limit. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to help? I have insurance through my job but the deductible is $5k so I'll have to pay for the birth out of pocket which is supposedly going to cost altogether around $4-5k.
