Common Questions and Answers about Carb free rice

carb

Avatar m tn High carb diet, such as one that consists of a lot of rice is not good. Rice is a simple carb that breaks down quickly into sugar in your body and if not used right away for energy will goes straight into fat cells to be stored for later use. This is what causes us to gain weight. Heart palpitations can be caused by other things; just eating rice will not cause your thyroid to switch to hyper... in fact, heart palpitations are often present in those of us who are hypo.
Avatar f tn Rice is not really good for a diet, because it's very starchy (simple carb) and affects blood sugar very quickly. If you can switch to brown rice, which is whole grain, that would be much better.
Avatar f tn At this time when I eat very little sugar, or higher carb cakes (I live gluten free life, but flours like white rice flour has high carbs, that I coud not avoid yet, but I'm working on it). So when I eat a self-baked gluten free biscuit with higher carb flours, I get this strange vibration. Like an earthquake inside me. What do you think, can this be a withdrawal symptom of sugar? I hope so, and just hope that it will go away when my body will adjust.
Avatar f tn caregiver222's advice is logical. If for some reason you can't afford the test, try the Slow Carb Diet. The name is misleading, it should be called the Slow Carb Nutritional Program! You can stay on it for the rest of your life! If you own an iPhone - the apps are free online. You can order it online as a hardcover or an eBook. Basically, you can everything except for "White Carbohydrates" .... Bread, potatoes, fruits, rice & noodles - for example!
1301482 tn?1325722991 simple carbs, such as those found in sodas, things made with white refined sugar, flour, white rice, and even fruit. The other type of carb is the complex carb (otherwise known as dietary fiber), which is found in whole grains, veggies, seeds, nuts, etc. The simple carbs are broken down quickly and enter the blood stream as sugar, which if not used, is then stored as fat. Complex carbs/fiber are broken down slowly and keeps you feeling fuller longer.
429164 tn?1321558847 8 before a meal and under 7.8 after a meal. I managed to find an online shop which stocks sugar free, carb free and no added sugar items-don't know what I'd do without chocolate! I've learned about glycemic load, which means even when something is low in carbs and sugar it can hit quicker than something which appears to be higher. Just to make matters more confusing.
1451080 tn?1438527660 As a family of 5 with two children and myself being on meds and only one person working, I need some economical low carb ideas for meals and/or snacks. The low carb thing is new to my entire family. Any info would be helpful. Also, any info on how to naturally lower my blood pressure is also welcome. Thanks!
Avatar f tn s been stressful planning these meals around the holidays (diabetic-friendly, dairy-free, gluten-free meals are hard to come by). Thanks so much!
Avatar n tn hi. i find it very very hard to lose weight.... despite exercise and diet..... my weight either remains the same or increases. eg. after working very hard in the gym and following a low-carb diet, i was able to lose only 3 kgs!! even my personal trainer and friends and family felt there's something not right. I recently got blood test done along with a USG scan. my thryroid seems to be fine and i do not have pcos. but my prolactin levels are high ie 31.5 ng/ ml.
Avatar f tn I had it with my first pregnancy but not with this one nature is a funny thing. Just keep eating rite and cross your fingers.
Avatar f tn Maybe your metabolism is a bit different. Eat 25 g of raw nuts daily, increase your veggies, limit your fruits to one a day only. Increase fibre, decrease all starchy stuff (no potatoes, rice, pasta, bread) or switch to high fibre. Some people just do better on a no fruit, low carb, high protein and veggie diet. This will also keep your blood sugar low and reduces hunger.
Avatar f tn s carries their own label on rice cakes, rice tortillas and rice pasta. The rice pasta is really good. They also carry the Lundgren brand of rice cakes for less money than other places that carry the brand. Udi's is a brand of gluten free baked goods you may find pretty good. Canyon Bake House makes a terrific gluten free rosemary focaccia bread that is actually soft and not crumbly.
Avatar f tn You deffinantly need some carbs but reduce how many you eat and see if that helps. Meats are carb free most cheeses some sugar free stuff is low in carbs but not always carb free. That is a big mistake sometimes people make thinking that just because its sugar free its ok but sometimes sugar free stuff is still loaded with carbs. Example i was going to buy peeps for her for easter they were sugar free but still loaded with 28 carbs.
Avatar f tn If your on a gd diet you just have to manage your protein and carbs. You can pop something in the oven and eat meat just watch the starch you pair with it. I usually eat a lot of meat since it's carb free to help feel me up and double up on veggies and keep my bread/rice/pasta/potatos/beans to very minimal.
Avatar m tn Dr. W. I'm sure you've heard the phrase "fat and happy." Well, it's not just folklore. The same carbs that make you fat (and contribute to diabetes and other problems) also make you happy. It's simple science: Carbs allow more of the amino acid L-tryptophan to penetrate your brain. The L-tryptophan triggers your brain to make more serotonin, and the serotonin makes you feel happier. It's as simple as that!
Avatar f tn I am wondering what foods are best to eat? I recently started eating much healthier with the " low carb diet plan" I am walking but I still have pain of course so I need some sort of list of foods that are good for people with this. The only pain medication i take for fibro is Tramadol 200 mg time released twice per day. I have been on everything I was addicted to hydrocodon like to never got off of it.
Avatar n tn -) Rice in soups or casseroles-high carb. Pasta-high carb. Potatoes-high carb. Bread-high carb. Regular soda pop and fruit juices-high carb. Sugar is interesting-you can have your sugar and eat it too. If your dr tells you to eat less sugar you need to fire right back at him and say, don't you mean carbs? Do you know of anyone who sits and eats a cup of sugar? No. But I bet we have all eaten a cup of potatoes rice or pasta or bread....
Avatar m tn hi i have same symptoms like can you please guide me
Avatar f tn My doctor did say that if I could not bring my glucose and A1C down, we would have to look at injectibles. He told me go very low carb or carb free diet. Which I am doing. I did feel hungry at first, the first few days. Now not so much, I hardly think about food. I was just wondering if after 2 weeks that is enough time to see some better results. I know it took time for me to get to this level.
Avatar m tn However, your diet could be modified to include less carbs (more focus on veges and some fruits, than sweets and high carb foods such as rice), which will be beneficial for your overall health. If you want to check you can ask your doctor to check hba1c, which is a test that tells you your average blood sugar for the past 3 months. Less than 5.0 is totally normal, 5.7 - 6.5 is prediabetic, > 6.5 is diabetic.
Avatar n tn Bulgar, Himalayan red rice, wild rice, Quinoa, ate all supposed to be better than plain white rice. Research shows sourdough to be better than even what bread. But ultimately tough have to try different things and check your blood after every meal and see what causes biggest spikes. Like for me I just can't do potatoes.
Tbd I do know that carbohydrates raise BG... ALL carbohydrates will raise your BG. brown rice is a carb and will raise BG, so is wheat, potato, sugar and most fruits.
