225237 tn?1333138999 You dont say what your test results where or what your BG is you have said : your 2 hour glucose test is out of wack (what does that mean?) you get a checkup every 3 monts (OK fine) I don't understand is why am I considered a Diabetic?? (who said your diabetic ask them) diabetes means your body is not controlling your Blood sugar (BG) normal BG is fasting under 100 (USA) or under 5.6 rst of the world and never over 140 (USA) or 7.8 rest of the world.
Avatar f tn IST is exceptionally hard to manage, and often is either just tolerated or managed with medications such as beta blockers (which if the asthma is very severe, can be exacerbated by beta blockers). Ablation of the sinus node is rarely performed and done and if so, only in the most severe cases. This is because the sinus node is smaller in size, and management of IST often means that the entire sinus node can be damaged.
Avatar m tn not a chance with blood pressure that low. Hearts are damaged by lack of oxygen, infection, genetic defects or having to work too hard against HIGH blood pressure. Your heart isn't having to work hardly at all with such low pressure.
Avatar f tn And I have basically continued to watch what I eat. Has this happened with anyone else? Do other beta blockers have this effect as well? My husband is on a beta blocker, and he does not have this problem.
Avatar n tn (with exercise) if you cant or dont want to restrict your carbs sufficient to control your BG then you need to increase the drugs you take to control your BG. I eat about 50gr of carbs a day and that is with insulin.
Avatar f tn m taking beta blockers. My PACs respond well to beta blockers but sometimes they break through the beta blockade. It typically happens if I'm on a low carb diet (for some mysterious reason I haven't yet figured out) Lifting weights is notorious for provoking premature beats. The adrenaline levels in your blood can increase 100 times from baseline, and the heart rate isn't as high as during aerobic exercise.
Avatar f tn It happened again last night, and the only explanation I have for it is a very heavily carb-laden meal late in the evening. A couple of weeks ago, and I can't believe I'm saying this, I think eating a very large pomegranate late in the evening caused it. Same MO...heart rate upper 80s/lower 90s sustained for hours.
Avatar n tn doc said they make it easier for your heart to work, but dont i wont my heart to get stronger? im not sure as for all this info is so new to me. never had any health problems that i knew of till i went to this heart doc.
Avatar m tn so if a person on low carb diet suddenly eat carbs then blood sugar goes high because muscle dont absorb it anymore. not sure if can be reversed or not. maybe low carb high fat is one way street?
Avatar m tn My home Bp has been 110/70 to 120/80mmhg since i started taking the B blockers, my daily dose is 1.25mg of Nebilet( B blocker). My question is can there be regression in the hypertrophy and i easily get anxious could it have been the cause of the hypertension and the hypertropohy.Thank you.
Avatar n tn I also have a sclerotic growth in the T12 pedicle that causes pain. My doctor prescribed Gabapentin. Nothing seems to work. I still have pain but not intense pain. I am worried all the injections and blockers could potentially lead to more damage if I am not careful. Does anyone know of any treatment options?
Avatar m tn I am still researching trying to find confirmation of such an assertion. If true, having an ablation to stop PACs might or might not work. Do some research. Keep this thread informed on anything you find.
554422 tn?1220575366 Unfortunatly its done nothing for my nsvt or pvcs but Ive been told on here that beta blockers dont normally have an effect for them anyway....Does anyone else feel breathless for no reason?I will hopefully have insurance soon so I will be able to get my echo...I am worried somethings changed structurally in my heart...I know I sound like im overreacting but I know my body and somethings deff different.I had a structurally normal heart and have been diagnosed with idiopathic VT.
Avatar f tn beta blockers only affect how hard the heart can work. Cardiologists seem to prescribe these automatically now with any problems as a safetly feature. It's like the petrol pipe in your car being squeezed if you try to over rev the engine. Beta blockers should have no affect on your blood pressure at all. Other drugs are prescribed to sort out that problem if necessary. You have to realise that on beta blockers things will not feel the same.
378273 tn?1262097621 t stay down with beta-blockers AND calcium channel blockers- not until there was ALSO sodium channel blockers... Beta blockers are the most common and about the easiest to deal with, but different things work for different people at least better than some things. Good luck. Is this a regular "sinus" rhythm or is it connected to a.fib?
Avatar n tn bunless burgers are cool, a lot of restaurants offer them ... or if they dont just dont order the bun extra long leaf lettuce... sushi restaurants (tho I dont eat fish lol) have cabbage rolls and lettuce wraps...
Avatar n tn m 12 with type 1 and I have been fighting off a cold for a while I do have antibiotics which are helping but my blood sugar is constantly high I eat very low carb so when I bonus it is usually a very small amount but my blood sugar corrections dot seem to be helping?
705366 tn?1253634943 For years at first ,I was just on the beta blockers and they worked well for 10+ years. I hope it will be enough to work for you because back then, it wasn't too bad.
Avatar m tn Your blood pressure is not very low. Usually, people don't get symptomatic unless systolic drops below 100, but this is highly individual. 85 diastolic is actually in the borderline high range. 120 systolic is just fine. Calcium channel blockers don't lower the heart rate as much as beta blockers, and may work reducing premature beats, especially those that origin from the upper chambers (PACs). They lower the blood pressure some.
Avatar n tn t be in too much of a hurry to start taking beta blockers. They work but they certainly have their drawbacks.
Avatar f tn I am 49 y.o. female, work out everyday doing either cardio or weights and yoga . I eat well/no junk. Now, I dont know if this is due to perimenopause or the fact that I started taking Advil a couple days ago for some inflammation...i usually hold steady at about 107.8-108 lbs (I am only five feet 1 inch tall). Today... I get on and see a 2 lb jump?? could this be related to the fact that I started on Advil sunday (about 600 mg a day) or what? can someone answer this for me?
Avatar m tn do calcium channel blockers have less side effects then beta blockers or are they safer?..
10570408 tn?1412078257 Different diets work for different people. Low-carb doesn't work for everyone. If it doesn't work for you, then you need different kind of diet, maybe a more moderate-carb diet. Try leaving out the sugar, junk food, and grains, but add back in two or three servings a day of healthy but carb-y vegetables, and see what happens.
Avatar m tn You need to be sure you are using the right Insulin Carb ratio for your doses before meals and that you have an accurate carb count. Calorieking.com is a good resource for carb listings in addition to what's on packages (and be sure to correctly measure servings). In order to gain weight you want to increase your protein and fats so that you can gain weight without increasing carbs.
