Avatar m tn The problem is that when trying to do extreme movements like sprinting and swinging leg for football, i get a kind of neural pain in my left lower back/just above buttock I have seen 2 physios, had injections in my back where the doctor thought a nerve end could be being affected, and seen a sports physio who got my core stability and leg muscles in good shape. I thought it was feeling better thanks to the exercises I had been doing for the sports physio. .
Avatar n tn Tibia is the shin bone that bears most of the weight and the Fibula is the splint bone located on the outside of the lower leg. In the case of a closed fracture there may be swelling and discolouration due to the large amounts of blood that emanate from a fractured bone. The usual healing time for a mid-shaft Tibia and Fibula fracture treated with cast immobilisation is 12 to 16 weeks.
Avatar m tn Doctor, yesterday while playing football I went in for a tackle and my elbow which had a 30 minute small healing cut on it made contact with this guys arm which had a red wound during the game. I think that there may be a chance that when I made contact with him that the contact caused my cut to re open and bleed slightly and that there is a chance that some of his blood could have made contact. I can't be 100 % sure his blood got in there.
Avatar n tn I was playing football on tuesday and went it for a tackle and hit my foot/ankle against the other person. I have been on crutches for 5 days now and my toes and near the end of toes is swollen. it hurts if i put any pressure on it. Any suggestions??
Avatar m tn Hello, Im 17 years old, almost 18 and when i was 14 i had broken my tibia and fibula in a football game and gotten a titanium rod placed in my tibia. i left it in following the doctors advice and ever since then i have had really bad leg pain and shin splints whenever i would run, sometimes even walk. i play running back and im starting to limp when i sprint and its making me quite slow. the pain is bad. If i were to get the rod removed would this pain most likely go away?
20620809 tn?1504362969 Haven't had this one myself, but research professional sports -- a whole lot of them had had this surgery. Google that and see how many came back and how many didn't. The one thing I can tell you is that the time it takes to come back is an individual thing -- it depends obviously on how bad this injury was and how skilled and experienced the surgeon was, but we all heal at different speeds.
Avatar m tn This could be a simple muscle pull. Give it time, and see if it doesn't improve or go away completely on its own this week. In the mean time, rest up, don't exert yourself by playing tackle football or similar activity, and by all means, stop shouting. If it continues or gets worse, seek medical attention.
Avatar n tn Can anyone provide me a clinical reason as to why contact sports would need to be prohibited? My son has played tackle football for 3 years now - is the middle linebacker on his team - and loves the game. I don't know that my son's Neurosurgeon is a Chiari expert (although she states she's done 500 surgeries of this type). He will have Decompression surgery at the end of October (has headaches, and Syringomyelia).
Avatar m tn i am not able to bent my leg outwards because of the previous injury.so i am not able to play football because while hitting a shot the leg has to bend slightly outwards and then it hurts a lot. so i want to know whether my leg will ever heal or not and will i ever be able to play football?if yes, then how?
Avatar m tn Thank you very much for your answer, Doctor! It helps me a lot.
Avatar f tn it really swollen so big i thought i broken it and that was October of last year.I took x-ray but know broken bones. but right now i feel that my whole arm is hurting and under my arm is uncomfortable .
Avatar m tn About a month ago I was playing foot ball for my high school knee and upon trying to make a tackle I fell on the inside of my right knee. This was very painful and was hard to deal with the first day. My knee hurt all the time and was numb. I was evaluated by our school trainer, and she said there was no tearing of ACL or MCL. My concern is that at some points it still hurts like an immense burning pain. I don't get a lot of pain, but his is terrible.
Avatar f tn I was playing soccer when i went into a tackle my Body got twisted around but my foot and lower leg stayed still. I felt a massive pain through my knee on the inside of my knee and heard and felt a snap. My team mates imediatly came running over because they said they heard a snap sound to and that it looked nasty when i did it. My coach put ice on it and strapped it up but i can only put a tiny amount of weight on it before my knee collapses.
Avatar m tn Hi, I'm 55 years old and was playing football with my 3 year old grandson. I threw the ball to him and he started to fall backwards so I lunged toward him and put my arms around him so he wouldn't bang his head on the concrete floor and kind of turned to the side so I would take the brunt of the fall..
Avatar f tn no reason your can't do the slides- at 5 weeks it is very well protected. I wouldn't play tackle football, but i think a water slide will be fine. they don't say not to ride a motorcycle...
Avatar m tn I am a 36 yr old football player and recently I was hit on the right shoulder. Right away I felt like hot water running down my back, then burning, and stinging. It is numb and sore but it does not feel broken.
Avatar f tn Makata, only a doctor can tell you if you need surgery. As I said earlier, recovery usually involves RICE, and it will take as long as your body needs. The pain and swelling will go down. At that time, you might consider physical therapy to help strengthen your leg muscles, and further reduce inflammation. My son had the ACL repair surgery only to blow out his new ACL within a year, again playing football -- he was on a football scholarship. That was about 10 years go.
Avatar f tn I am going to have surgery quite soon for my herniated/broken disc. I wondered how long if anyone has had this, how long is recovery? I mean how long for pain? WIll I feel great right away and be able to do normal things? Now, a relative who thinks they are the only one with pain and mostly lies, so I don't know whether to believe them or not said our grandfather had the surgery and was up literally dancing right after surgery that day.
Avatar m tn He said it would reduce in due course and spotted the bruising leading a path down to my ankle. He said swimming would be ok but did not advise football. Of course I go and play football that night and now the fluid has increased and got much "tighter", I can barely bend the knee now and have trouble walking.
