Avatar m tn Also, breast milk only becomes a risk (to infants) after consistent ongoing breast feeding. You don't have an HIV concern.
Avatar n tn Hello, Loratadine and cetirizine are preferred during breastfeeding as only small amounts are secreted in breast milk and both drugs are non-sedating. However these also should be used for short intervals. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps.
Avatar f tn Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant during treatment. It is not known whether promethazine passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby. Do not use this medication without telling your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby. Older adults may be more likely to have side effects from promethazine." Zofran/Ondansetron is also used in pregnancy. I felt safe using this during pregnancy as I have known more women who have used it without any problems.
Avatar f tn I was given medication to help my milk flow as my daughter was born at 24 weeks and could only use breast milk as to not rupture her bowels but my milk supply hadnt kicked in.
Avatar f tn I think it is quite normal. I lost my boy at 19 weeks and had a lot of breast milk and extremely sore and swollen breasts for the first 2 weeks and still get small amounts around my ovulation now. I now how upseting this can be at such a sad time for you. I bought some breast pads to soak up the milk and tried not to over-stimulate my breasts ie going under the shower.
Avatar m tn my doctor discontinued risperdal because it caused milk in my breast. that was june 8.......... well i still got milk in my breast.... now what?

Avatar n tn I have been for almost a month. Could this be affecting me producing breast milk? Is this a sign of pregnancy? Can I talk to my mom about this with out her thinking I have been having sex? Please, I really need some help and badly! Any advice would be highly appreciated.
7588086 tn?1400797014 Yes u can. Your breast milk is the best thing. And all it does is make your baby sleep a little more.
Avatar n tn If memory serves me your TSH seems to be running a little too high. Your levels will/can cause a low milk supply. Perhaps though not jumping from 175 to 125 but go to 137. Make sure your OB knows and understands that you are breastfeeding and that you want to take it a little slow b/c going the other direction will also have an affect on your milk. If you don't mind my asking - what makes you feel like your supply is low?
809479 tn?1238438914 I never had this problem but the baby might be drinking different becasue of how it is laid on the breast. Try to hold the baby the other direction on that breast for a while to see if it changes the sucking pattern. You can always build up enough to feed a side at a time instead of switching each feed. I had to do this. But the last thing you need to do is try some mothers milk tea and Fenugreek which builds the milk supply. It works great and thest things together should work.
Avatar n tn * A hormonal imbalance, such as from taking birth control pills * An underactive thyroid gland * A tumor (prolactinoma) or other disorder of the pituitary gland * Chronic breast stimulation, such as from frequent breast self-exams or sexual activity An injury A blunt trauma, for instance, the impact of the steering wheel in a car accident or a hard blow to your chest during a sporting activity, can cause nipple discharge in both your breasts.
Avatar n tn Hello, Renee. I've been using silk soy milk for about 6 years and now I've read on the internet that it might hinder absorbtion of vitamins and minerals. What do you know about this?
Avatar f tn But for the last 6 days every single time I have tried feeding her my breast milk will cause her to gag. She gets so frustrated, so I started her on a formula we where using to supplement but before every bottle I keep trying to nurse but I get the same results. It literally makes her gag deeply. What could I have done to my milk to cause this? I tried pumping out all the milk so it would start fresh but this hasn't helped.

279230 tn?1259927503 My daughter will be 4 weeks old tomorrow. I haven't had an adequate milk supply since she was born. I tried waiting it out and nursing frequently and pumping to try to increase supply. It didn't work. She was 7lb 8oz at birth and 6lb 15oz at her drs appt Friday. He insisted that we start supplememnting formua in order to get her to put on weight. So he told me to nurse from one side, then offer a bottle. I have been doing this, and then pumping.
Avatar f tn I had my baby boy 5 days ago n i made the decision to bottle feed but my breast came in yesterday and my breasts really hurt. Is there anything i can do to dry up my breast milk? Ive tried cabbage leaves, ice packs n tylenol to relieve pain n swelling. Any other ideas?
Avatar n tn The big thing that I also got was not to breastfeed as it could be in the breast milk. I couldn't find much about neurontin and pregnancy - I can tell you that I take lamictal for epilepsy & although it was a category "c" med, I continued to take it for the benefit outweighing the risks kind of deal.
Avatar n tn Using a nursing supplementer (if available and if conditions are sanitary enough to make its use safe) to provide expressed milk at the breast while baby sucks at the breast. Taking herbs/medication that increase milk supply (herb resources are listed in the resources collection). If you do use herbs or medications to increase your supply, be sure to put the baby to the breast frequently, to remove as much milk as possible. This will help avoid breast infections or plugged ducts.
Avatar f tn Hi i am 33 and i have had problems with my breast's for a number of years after giving birth to my second child,i started to loose green fluid through the nipples, I have been to the doctors and hospital on a number of occasions and was told it was infected milk ducts and was perscribed medication, The medication did not work on any occasion i asked could i have the milk ducts removed and was told by a doctor that he would not remove them in case i wanted to breast feed anymore children that i m
Avatar f tn Also, don't stress if you end up having to switch to formula. I believe in breast milk and you should try to up your volume and formula is ok too. It's not the devil that some people make it out to be. Just make sure those babies are fed momma. You'll get to take them home soon. Hang in there. Don't beat yourself up.
Avatar f tn Atenolol is pregnancy category D and it also passes through breast milk. It should not be used during pregnancy unless your doctor tells you to do so. Micardis is pregnancy category C (during first trimester) and D (during 2nd and 3rd trimester) and it enters breast milk. It should not be used during pregnancy unless your doctor tells you to do so. I recommend you talk to your doctor about your situation before making any changes.
