massage

Avatar f tn How many times per day and how exactly should I massage my scar?
Avatar f tn From experience: You might consult a Physical Therapist who is treained in the treatment of Lymphedema for an evaluation. If the discomfort and slight swelling is in the underarm area a sleeve probably wouldn't help much. There is a certain type and pattern of massage specifically for LE. I don't believe that having some discomfort 6 months post-op is all that unusual and we must always be aware of the possibility of developing LE when the lymphatic system has been comprimised.
Avatar f tn Hi...no and was told that was not a good idea post op...or directly after surgery as the whole area is hyper sensitive and u can over stimulate it. I was told to do certain exercises to help loosen the muscles and avoid scar tissue.....
886230 tn?1242081720 why is this happening to me? I did some research about post-op low back pain and found out it happens a lot b/c of the way the dr's position you on the op table when doing hysterectomies. Has anyone else on this forum experienced this too! Yikes, it *****... I am going to call my chiropractor friend and see what he suggests. This is dreadful and a horrible way to start the day. On a positive note my bowels are moving great and I did not have any constipation.
4928099 tn?1361144915 I am also having pain in the ribs directly under that breast that began 1 week out. The nurse at the surgeons office told me to take advil, but the rib pain has not gone away. I thought it might have been from the swelling moving down, but it feels like someone has their elbow in my ribs. I just would like to know if this is expected or if and when it may go away. Any experience would be helpful.

Avatar n tn yea they should have tested it so see whether it was malignant or not, if it was u would need post op treatment, and if it wasnt u wouldnt, im guessing?
Avatar m tn You should get some instruction for stretching exercises post-op as soon as your Surgeon permits which will help you recover your normal range of motion. Just be sure that you don't do anything before it is allowed or approved by the Surgeon or Physical Therapist (if you see one) so you don't delay the healing process.
Avatar f tn I had my baby on may 9th. I'm not breast feeding So I'm letting milk dry out. I know It's normal to be in pain and hard as a rock But Is It normal to have lumps and pain under my arms. Like in my arm pits?
886230 tn?1242081720 Have any of you had a bladder / UTI infection post op? I have been doing really great up until today. My back pain was worked out with very gentle massage and extmely careful hip & lower back adjustments from my chiropractor. He said that they really threw me around on the O.R. table... Once he did his ever so gentle adjustments my back has been excellent again!
Avatar f tn I will get mine results next wed. when I see the BS for my post-op visit. Im hoping they call me before then with the results.
1157646 tn?1343967128 I asked the surgeon who did my surgery (an idiot of an endo!!!) at the post-op appointment (1 month post op) how long it would last and he said it should ease within a year. Is it normal for the scar to still be so sensitive and tingle when touched almost 1 year after surgery???? Thanks!!
Avatar f tn hi szy :-) I know your post was back in 2008, but in 2010 I had a ductemomy and since then i have suffered a recurrent abscess. so painful, minimum 7 times a year...just wanted to know, if it was an abscess u had? cos your description sounded like it...if so, have u any tips or suggestions? I'm gedxup of antibiotics! anyone else suffered this?
648187 tn?1232996459 It seems a little late for the normal post-op bruising. I suppose 4 days isn't all that long but if it's too long for your confort I think I would ck. at either an Urgent Care Facility or ER. It doesn't seem normal at 3 weeks after surgery.
Avatar n tn My surgeon chose 350 cc Mentor Moderate Plus gel implants for both sides and I did not question this, foolishly, prior to surgery as I figured he knew what he was doing. Now 10 days post-op my left breast is noticeably smaller than the right, just as before surgery. I questioned my surgeon on the first 3 day post-op visit but I was on demerol and don't remember his response but remember it was "mathematical".
Avatar f tn I had surgery 6-5-08, like second day after surgery continuous swelling in rgt breast so sent 4 ultrasound, said everything ok, I was sent home from hospital returned for post-op week later, I have 2 openings under rgt breast w/ continuous drainage and was told that the huge lump (hard as a rock) could be necrosis. My belly button drains continuously as well, was told to clean breast and belly button more.
4243956 tn?1351611640 I can only speak to the Mastectomy part as I did not have reconstruction. Everyone has a different experience with any type of surgery just as we all "feel" pain to a different degree. The mastectomy was a relatively simple matter for me ... there were drains to contend with but the experience may be quite different for you if you're having immediate reconstruction. Clothing might well be an issue post-op so I would suggest that you contact whatever Medical Supply Co.
6384874 tn?1385429806 I had my first PT session yesterday (I am 5 weeks post op) and it consisted of range of motion testing, some massage of my neck, scar and the base of my skull, and she stretches for me to do at home. I feel worse today than I have since surgery. The top portion of my scar is very sore (feels like its bruised). I was like that before PT. He really stayed away from that area most of the time.
Avatar n tn I have not had any tests done post-op, drs seem to think some medicine will fix it. I will try to read about the liver and pancreatic enzmyes, and see what I can do. Let me know if you have any other ideas..and thanks for responding!
