Avatar n tn Hi, A BI-RADS score 4,is not characteristic of breast cancer, but reasonable probability of being malignant (3 to 94%).The percentage depends if you have a strong family history of breast cancer(mother sister) If you don't have a family history,then the percentage could be quite high that your biopsy will return a benign finding. Estrogen Receptor (ER) negative and Progesterone Receptor (PR) negative breast cancer 4. Extensive metastases to axillary lymph nodes at the time of diagnosis. I do not know the ER, PR and HER-2 status of your cancer so I have no idea of your tumor's aggressiveness.
Avatar n tn I have a friend with a rare worse breast cancer, a friend with brain cancer, and a friend who had a double mastectomey. I would not trade with any of them. Mostly ovarian cancer is not painful. They can give you drugs for the chemo. It is not like the old days. I have had 23 chemos so far. I train dogs, ride horse, hike, and work on projects around the house. You have a 98% it is not cancer those are good odds. They might not be able to tell what is going on with out surgery.

The vet somehow thinks it could be a Hemangiosarcoma.....obviously the results do not specify a "sarcoma" at all, but they get us no further either. No treatment even if it was a cancer. Surgery would be horrendous because of its position. He suggested doing an incisional biopsy next week. I asked him what was the point?

The agonizing pain levels associated with the radiotracer injections are extremely well known in nuclear medicine and even more so when subaroeal ie., under nipple injections are used. There is a SIGNIFICANT amount of legitimate scientific literature about this.

Herceptin is a special drug to address the Her2 receptor on the breast cancer cells which is a marker of cancer aggressiveness. The shortness of breath should be evaluated thoroughly. This can reflect a heart or lung problem, or in worst case, cancer spread to the lungs. I would suggest that you meet with her oncologist to get all the facts and details, and also have the treatment plan outlined for you.

He/She may want to perform a biopsy on the solid node, that's really the only way to find out for sure if it is cancerous or not. If they "think" it's not and want to wait 3-6 months for a re-evaluation, then it's more than likely just a suspicion. If you want to pursue and get a biopsy, then please do for your own peace of mind. However, the wait of 3-6 months won't change things much, if any, if it is cancer.

If the hormone tests indicate you are close to menopause, it might be better just to manage the problem rather than take drastic action at this stage. With all that blood loss you will likely be anaemic, which can itself cause further blood loss. Definitely get a blood count done. Also have your thyroid levels checked.

Avatar n tn So when the pathology report came back on my cancer status, the biggest factor regarding lymph node involvement was the fact that the cancer was a Grade 111 (fast growing and active and very common amoung younger women, I was 39 when diagnoised). Because of this, I decided along with the breast cancer team (Surgeon, Oncologist and Breast Cancer Nurses) to get all level one and two lymph nodes removed rather than going for a sentenial node procedure. 17 were removed.

A couple of days after the mammogram, I started experiencing a burning sensation on the opposite side of where the lump is as well as some burning sensation on the other breast (no lumps in the left breast). The burning sensation has not gone away and it's been about 7 days since the testing. I don't know what to think at this point.
Avatar n tn my uterus has grown since my last visit so this thing is growing pretty darn fast.............he did say my leaking breast are more than likely from me breast feeding my last 3 kids, and my body thinks there is another pregnancy but we all know better.........if it does not go away then he will do futher testing later.......well I will stay in touch and let ya'll know how all goes...........
