Avatar n tn Dear MissyMouse, The pathologist examines the cells under the microscope and can differentiate between lymphoma cells and breast cancer cells. They look very different under the microscope.
Avatar f tn Having had Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma 25 years ago, was treated with COP. New breast cancer diagnosis requiring Chemotherapy, Radiation therapy and Hormonal therapy. Can the same agents re: Cytoxan be used for this diagnosis. The former treatment caused hemmoragic cystitis. Is it wise to use Taxotere/Cytoxan regimen?
7729616 tn?1393799092 * The thyroid ultrasound I had done in February 2012 showed the thyroid had another blood supply and I have been told that this is indicative of cancer/lymphoma. This blood supply has since gone as the repeat ultrasound done in March of this year showed nothing. I'm now under the impression this has now moved. * I have since developed pains in my right breast, 2 lumps in the same breast, and dull pains in my back, shoulder blade and ribcage.
903997 tn?1300027090 Hi. My mom was recently told that she has breast Lymphoma. She's scheduled to meet with her Oncologist tomorrow to find out more. However, the doctor who initially interpreted the report stated that my mom would need to undergo surgery to remove the small lump in her breast, a few swollen lymph nodes, and could possibly be facing chemotherapy. I can't seem to find much about this form of cancer as it is said to be rare. Has anyone heard of such a condition?
463982 tn?1242667239 The lump in your breast may or may not be related to lymphoma. Lymphomas can also involve the breast and will present as a breast lump. Both benign and malignant conditions can present with lump in the breast. Biopsy may be needed in order to have a definite diagnosis. I agree with your decision to seek consult with your doctor for further evaluation and management. Please do post your updates. Good luck to you.
467559 tn?1207237336 if you are a diagnosed case of breast cancer or lymphoma: The CT scan is a fairly reliable test and it is still largely the choice imaging tool for investigating metastatic disease from known cancer. If the main problem is the back pain, the problem may be limited in the spine. For evaluating the spinal cord, the CT scan may have some problems resolving such tissues especially if there is no apparent involvement of bone.
907672 tn?1381029323 He also said he was basically stumped because this is not breast cancer but it is presenting on the breast. He said he has never seen this before. Has anyone heard of lymphoma presenting on the breast? From what I have read lymphoma is not easy to diagnose. If this does come back as lymphoma, how certain can they be that the diagnoses is right? Is there a lot of room for error? Should I get a second opinion?

Avatar n tn Thyroid fine needle aspiration (FNA) biopsy is the only non-surgical method which can differentiate malignant and benign nodules in most, but not all cases.
Avatar f tn Get you baby on EVO dogfood that can help extend her life. Don't give her ANY CARBS OR SUGAR. cancer feeds off of carbs & sugar- you are starving cancer to death with not giving it anything to live off of. My baby has stage 4 on the cusp of stage 5 matastisized cancer. They say 6 months will be successful. She is not acting like she has cancer- every one is so surprised she is that far along.
Avatar f tn A person who has been diagnosed with Lymphoma can develop secondary cancers but breast cancer is not the only type. If a person under the age of 30 is irradiated because of Lymphoma it is recommended that they do monthly breast self exams, yearly Mammograms and ck. ups with their Dr. every 6 months. Regards ....
Avatar f tn My sister had non hodgkins lymphoma too. But, you are posting this question in the breast cancer forum and we really aren't well versed in NHL. A PET scan will pick up cancers that are of a certain size. I've never had a bone scan and don't know if they will pick up smaller cancers or not. I think you'll get much better response in the CANCER forum. Best wishes.
Avatar f tn 24 yrs, female (great grandmother (mother's side) diagnosed with breast cancer at 27yrs, died at 32yrs) 1 year ago my gynecologist noticed a swollen lymph node on the right side of my neck (I'm assuming deep cervical) sent me to a neck specialist, whom informed he insisted it was swollen due to a blemish I had on my face. 1 yr later, blemish free, still have swollen lymph node which is now slightly larger and feels different, not so hard.

Avatar n tn 1. breast implants do not cause breast cancer 2. breast implants do not stimulate the formation of auto immune diseases (as was asserted in the past with no good scientific data) 3. breast masses in vary rare and reportable cases have been diagnosed as NHL I would consult with your oncologist for an opinion on this matter.
Avatar n tn just an enlarged lymph node, breast cancer, lymphoma or hodgkins. Breast cancer runs in the family, but she did not feel anything in the breast exam to be worried about. I wake up every night drenched in sweat, sheets soaked and fatigued. I feel as though my energy and strength have been sucked out of me at night, only to come back in little spurts during the day. Any opinions? Could I still have cancer even though the CBC came back ok?
Avatar f tn For your reference there is one study, which suggests that the prognosis remains the same in Breast Cancer patients generally and Breast Cancer patients post RT for Hodgkins. You can access the abstract of this Stanford study at pubmed: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10673517. You may find the complete article on Jouran of Clinical oncology: http://jco.ascopubs.org/cgi/content/full/18/4/765.
Avatar n tn My 80 year old mom, in great shape and great attitude, has come off 3 years of hormone and radiation therapy for breast cancer. Her oncologist read her petscan today and said she has two "spots" on her liver that appeared in the 5 mo nths since last scan and feels sure it is breast cancer in her liver. I know she's a great dr (graduated with her myself) but we were in shock and left without any info.
1503643 tn?1311521838 can thyroid cancer turn to lymphoma? Or can you go into remission from thyroid cancer and then get lymphoma? Is it possible to have them both? This is very confusing. What are the probabilities of the mentioned scenarios?
Avatar n tn Familial breast cancer risk generally applies to first degree relatives (mother, sister, daughter). More distant relatives are unlikely to increase your risk of breast cancer due to family history. You might ask your doctor about this and if you are concerned, a genetic counselor could likely explain family risk and whether any additional work up would be appropriate.
Avatar n tn I have double breast cancer due to the BRCA 2 gene. It is considered a stage 2 with 3 node involvement that has not spread. Why is my survival rate 5-7 years? I plan on having the ovaries removed and the breasts removed? Where will it return?
Avatar f tn For example, if you are more than 60 years old, you would be 15x more likely to get breast cancer than the average woman due to the BrCA status. If you have repeated scans, the risk could be as much as 24x. If we assume the average woman has a risk of 1 in a 1000 or 0.001, your risk changes from 0.015 to 0.024. The more critical radiation involves radiation as therapy such as for patients with lymphoma. In this case, the risk can increase 5.2x. So your risk would change from 0.015 to 0.078.

592969 tn?1248329005 My friend was just diagnosed with Lymphoma. She had breast cancer 10 years ago. She is having a very hard time with night sweats and it unable to get adequate rest. 1142320 tn?1261363051 i had a little hard lump in my armpit before this happened but it went away a couple days before my tonsil became enlarged. my moms side of the family is known to get breast cancer. my immune system is fine and i have never had tonsil problems before. And the last couple days i have begun to notice that my body feels weaker, i am more prone to bruising and scratches. Avatar n tn I have been on methotrexate for some 5 years now, orally initially, but after I got breast cancer in 2003, and had to suspend mtx because I was having FEC chemo. Since then have been on weekly self administered injections. This, coupled with daily codeine phosphate, and recently some antibiotics such as amoxiclav and cipro, have been enough to bring the daily diarrhoea under control. Got my life back again and don't have to wear senior's diaper pads!
