Avatar n tn I want to workout my abs and thighs. Any workouts that you have in mind to help me workout?
Avatar f tn Anyway it is really embarrassing to go to a gym and my family gives me no support so I never do it at home. Where should I workout?? Should I just tough trough it and get a gym membership? The problem is there has to be a gym that is open at 11 since that would be my only time to workout. What should I do? Should I just continue to do vigorous house work and walking the dog? Or should I just get a gym membership? Thanks I appreciate it!
Avatar f tn One of my best friends who is a marathon runner, ran every day for 9 months while she was pregnant and she was fine. The baby was healthy and happy. She did about 6 or more miles every day on her treadmill because she was afraid to fall on her belly outside.

I am 50 and have not experienced no other side effects.
1521103 tn?1291102071 Hi, doing heavy weightlifting in the gym especially against the gravity when you are in standing position affect the longitudinal growth of your bones. In my opinion weightlifting while you are on a bench would not produce this effect. For better consultation you may approach your gym instructor.
7998970 tn?1435183202 Walking, exercise ball, little weights, etc are okay, especially if you were pretty active before pregnancy. No hardcore workouts though. time to gain weight lol.
Avatar f tn These equipment-free exercises are convenient for home workouts, but can help you get comfortable in a gym setting. If you're not sure how a machine works ask the personal at the gym. Get the OK from your doctor first.
Avatar f tn I've had the same problem my whole first trimester. I'm almost in my second as well so I hope to start working out again soon. In the meantime I go to the pool when I can and do some swimming and stuff.

Avatar f tn I encourage you to visit Dr Mercola’s site to learn more about Peak 8 fitness because I personally feel that it is one of the best ways to exercise, especially considering the speed at which you can lose fat and build muscle. Avatar n tn Hello all, I have noticed recently, during my weightlifting routines at the gym, that I will occasionally get a fluttering sensation in my heart that lasts about 10 to 15 seconds and occurs randomly while lifting weights or doing abdominal exercises, but oddly enough never during cardio workouts such as running or swimming (chance?). These "flutters" are quite worrisome, as I feel as if my heart may not recover it's consistent beat sometimes.
Avatar f tn After my first baby I became a gym lover and I plan on working out throughtout this entire pregnancy. Im a little nervous. .. thoughts?
Avatar f tn Good job on the workout! In the days after your workout you'll experience two different kinds of muscle soreness. Within the first 24 hours of your workout, you might be kind of sore. This is normal--your workout created little tears in your muscles and they need to repair. This is when you rest. You can still go to the gym, as long as you don't exercise those muscles that you focused on yesterday. 24-48 hours after your workout, Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness will set in.
Avatar f tn Nothing to hard. My husband and i still go to the gym everyday. There are a million workouts that are safe you just can not get to hot. And it helps delievery a lot better and i heard women who workout while pregnant babies sleep better. But who knows. Lol but after you have the baby it depends on if youre breast feeding or not. Avatar f tn I am 6 weeks pregnant. I would like to go for my usual gym workouts. What exercises are safe for my sweet little unborn child?
Avatar f tn For strength and toning, inner leg lifs, squats, lunges would be good. leg press, hamstring machiens at gym might be ok... provided that you do low weight, high reps otherwise you'll build too much muscle to be a long distance runner. So maybe just have really light weights if any at all for leg lifts, squats, lunges. Abs: ex 1: lay down on your back and keep your legs together then raise them to a 90 degree angle then back down to the floor without touching it.
Avatar f tn I am certified in TaeBo and also rode a bicycle a lot - I had to give up the bicycle (due to risk of falling) and even when I felt well enough to go to TaeBo class, my intensity was down. However, there is light at the end of the tunnel - at 14w2d I am feeling MUCH better and had the best workout so far of my pregnancy. Looking forward to hopefully having more energy and enjoying my workouts more and more!

Avatar n tn m 35 weeks and I use the stationary cycles at the gym. I also walk, do light arm, chest and back workouts with weights (no more than 25 pounds), and though I haven't done it I've heard swimming is great. You'll know if you're over doing it.
