I've always had issues with Dry Scalp and Dandruff, particularly during the winter. Over the past couple years, I've also developed some sort of scalp sores that when picked at tend to bleed. They seem to continually come back.
I've tried a number of shampoos - Head and Shoulders, Nizoral, Aveda Pureformance, T/Gel, American Crew, etc. with varying results.
In summer its mostly common that people doesnt have any complains regarding their dandruff but in winter yes cause when it comes about hair they need moisture and in winter we usualy dont wash our hair that often.
Solution: Wash them and massage the scalp with olive oil leave it for the night and then wash then next day morning and then if you see any changes after a week .... then thats what it is ....
my thoughts exactly, Poke. I have a similar problem, more predominant in the winter. I talked with my stylist about it, and she gave me sample bottles of Nioxin. The original ones she gave me didn't do much, but when we switched to the formula for colored hair it worked great. Talk to you salon and see if they have some sample or smaller (hence, cheaper) bottles that you can try. As with all salon products, you're going to spend a little more, but hey...if it helps...it helps.
When I was in 4th grade I started noticing dandruff in my bangs. I could see the dry skin there and growing up it was only in my bangs but over the years I noticed it going more over the top of my scalp. Sometimes it'd be worse and my hair would itch bad and I'd have dandruff and I thought it was maybe just in winter when it's more dry but about 2years ago when I was living in MS on the gulf (not dry area at all) it was horrible (winter and summer)!
About a month ago, I left some red spots on his back near the waist, which were resected. Also in the arms, which are dry and virtually disappeared. Others are still in the outskirts of the axillae and nipples, still red and sometimes I get itchy. They are more scaly and red when I shower with hot water.
As I said before, these spots are red, sometimes cause itching, are scaly and look like "wrinkled".
I've always dealt with dandruff in the winter, but I can't tell if the little white things in my hair are flakes or nits. I did the lice treatment, but nothing showed up when my hair was combed out. I have painful slightly itchy bumps and pimples on my scalp. I'm not insanely itchy, but I know you don't have to be super itchy to have lice. I don't know what else it would be if it's not lice, maybe the treatment didn't work. If it's not lice what is it?

First of all atopic dermatitis should be ruled out in your daughter’s case. Regarding dandruff, you should use shampoos with ketoconazole after getting them prescribed from her pediatrician.

ve been there for about 3yrs and sometimes they itch really bad in the winter and sometimes in the summer just recently i've had the same itching behind my knees and random itching on my thighs, legs and sometimes my buttocks could those random itchings be a form of eczema? how can i suppress it? and do you think a strict diet will prevent it from itching as bad?

Hi, wondering if anyone has an answer for me. I used to get dandruff on and off and I used head & shoulders or others like it and it worked fine. This winter, however, my scalp has gotten extremly dry and itchy and flaky, and sore from all the scratching. I tried a bunch of more heavy duty OTC shampoos for dandruff, but none worked. I used an essential oils scalp massage and that worked for a bit. Now it is out of control and driving me crazy.
i am having less hair, compared to the top and back hair of my head .. the only problem is that i have less hair on both sides.. it shows up clearly if i comb my side hair from back to front... and doesnt show when combed from front to back on my both sides ... I dont have any fungus / worms kind of things on my scalp but yes i do have dandruff and in winter its a lot of dandruff ..
im 25 years old male... i have compl;ain of dandruff from last 6, 7 years..... the doctors said its due to fungal infection( psoriasis) . i tried almost evry medicine, lotio, ol, creams... but all in vain....
now my front hair line is almost all damaged... i have very thick hair on my front side.. also the new hair grows but when i started itching my head that very new hair also falls with flakes of dandruff.

keep up the good work of hanging in there!! it is doable with support of family/friends. try cerave lotion & cleanser. it won't cure it but it helps. i used benadryl, too. i less shot & pill brings you closer to trying to fight off this darn virus.
Yup for 1st time in my life n secound baby n I got bad dandruff it sux. .n to top it off I cant use anyy kind of dandruff stuff cause it irritates my skin so I dont bother.but im not sure where u are but im in nz n the doc can subscribe this reall good stuuf that ya can also use on ur skin I cant member watvit called but it pink n smells YUCK hence y I still havnt botherd with it haha..
