Avatar m tn 5mg this changed nothing… now I have started to take norvasc 5mg on top of avalide my blood pressure has changed a little but mostly in my diastolic number on avg now 145-135/60-50… is this good that my diastolic keep going down with the medication however my top number doesn’t seem to go down very much? Avatar f tn Recently I was given biaxin by my family doctor not aware of the possible interaction and I began to retain after only two of them. Since then I have not been able to get my blood pressure under control again. I was on avalide, toprol xl, procardia xl along with the norpace and had to take potassium because it would go too low for the norpace. I have not been able to take avalide since the episode and am now on Avapro which works bettermost of the time than using avalide.
Avatar m tn ve seen no blood. I am a 55y/o male.
492329 tn?1290883385 My husband's BP was 152/100, but it stays down now with HCTZ which is a water pill that brings blood pressure down. His doctor wasn't too overly concerned about the blood pressure, but said that he would not want to see it high for 15 years because it can wear out the heart muscle. Are you taking your blood pressure at home three times a day, morning, noon, and night and recording it? That would be a good idea and then you can take it with you to the doctor to show.

Avatar n tn ve been on Lopressor for years to keep my heart rate down and Avalide for blood pressure. Then in November, my arrthymia worsen. So after about 6 weeks of playing with my Lopressor dosage, my doctor cut the lopressor and put me on Cardizem which is a calcium channel blocker like verapamil. My heart rate became much worse...very rapid like around 120-140....after 3 days of this, I begged to get back on Lopressor so we did and it's back to how it was ...no better no worse....
Avatar m tn NO YOUR NOT!!!! More than likely the reason for your high blood pressure is due to the alcohol, and stress that you been under for the last 2 years. It's hard I know to realize what is coming first, the alcohol or the stress. Go back to your Dr's and explain (if you can) what is going on - they are here to help us. As for your panic attacks, do they come on after or before your drinking?
Avatar m tn Intense exercise, such as strength training, weight lifting etc can cause a dramatic increase in blood pressure at the time of training - is the Avalide for BP? And by coatose, do you mean really spaced out, sleepy? I take Coversil and Toprol, but they are to slow the heart rate, and block the affect of hormones on it (like adrenalin). I feel really tired on them, and more dizzy (than when sedentary) if I try to exercise, but dont have the same symptoms as you described, so am just curious...
Avatar f tn My daughter's (age 11) has blood pressure of 110/54. She as lively as ever. If the blood pressure drops to in the 40's then it may be getting low. The 145 is actually high. My husband has high blood pressure, so we all take our blood pressure a lot.
Avatar f tn The benefits of BP meds could outweigh any risks of high blood pressure. I know that I will have to take BP meds when im pregnant. You should really consult your physician to see if this applies in your case. Aldomet is a BP med that is considered safe in pregnancy. I was on BP meds when I miscarried but had nothing to do with it. BP can be a serious problem in pregnancy and should not be ignored.
390388 tn?1279636213 Thanks for the suggestion. You can now track heart palpitations and chest pain in the blood pressure tracker. If you would like a more advanced heart tracker, you can also check out the Heart Rhythm tracker available from the Heart Rhythm Community.
492869 tn?1285018933 As it is, the blood pressure tracker seems to be geared toward those with high blood pressure. Would it be possible to expand upon the current blood pressure tracker to include symptoms (fainting, disorientation, etc.) and treatments (vasoconstrictors, stimulants, Florinef, etc.) of low blood pressure? A heart rate tracker was suggested at one point as well, perhaps this could be implemented within the blood pressure tracker.
Avatar f tn Some medications are much stronger than others, and low blood pressure is much more dangerous, in my opinion, than short term high blood pressure. Low blood pressure will cause you to pass out. I know that from experience, with some bad results. None of us are doctors here, but it usually takes years for high blood pressure to cause problems with your blood vessels. I'd ask your doctor to start with low doses blood pressure medications and work up.
327369 tn?1326119908 Mine was really low just prior to my hypo dx - one day it went down to 93/55 and because I take med for HIGH blood pressure, it worried me so I called the doctor's office to check. The nurse told me that if it went below 90/55 or if I had symptoms of any kind, I needed to get help...... When I was younger my BP was ALWAYS very low and they were often concerned about it. My mother also had very low BP (without med) and had a couple of heart attacks.
Avatar f tn Been having problems with my blood pressure. I was wondering if theres a certain med for this that's safer for the liver. Any info appreciated.
Avatar n tn The last two times I have been to see my midwife, my blood pressure has been quite high. First time it was 146/98 and the second visit it was 152/96. I purchased a monitor to track my bp at home. The first three readings have been 123/70, 121/70, and 125/75. I have a lot of anxiety about going to the doctor and can feel my heart racing. It starts as soon as I get into the building.I try to calm myself but it doesn't help.
Avatar f tn I was wanting to see if any one else had high blood pressure during pregnancy and taking med how did your pregnancy turn out?
9070037 tn?1414632966 Previously my pregnancy I was taking medication for High blood pressure. It was Chortalidone which is a diuretic. I was taking that before and during the first four weeks of my pregnancy , until My gyn told me not to take it during my pregnancy. I have 15 weeks already, I'm worried if that could had any effect on my baby. Am I supposed to control my high blood pressure during my pregnancy too? Anyone with high blood pressure that can give me an advice please?
Avatar f tn No significant health problems other than mild hypertension treated with Avalide. My potassium was low (I think due to the HCTZ in the Avalide). I don't drink, smoke or take any recreational drugs. I saw a neurologist, who says the MRI is normal, EEG is not (temporal lobe irregularities). He's on vacation...I'm traveling alot and can't see him for another 2 weeks. Is this a problem I need to see someone about before then?
535822 tn?1443976780 Pranayam will help to control your blood pressure. When you can do 15 minutes of anulom vilom twice a day, your blood pressure will be in control. The kapalbhati will boost your metabolism and control the sugar level. As you do the pranayam regularly, a lot of your symptoms will decrease gradually, and your energy level will rise.. Build up your timing gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume after one minute.
Avatar f tn The classification is a beta blocker that slows the heart rate and relax blood vessels that decreases blood pressure and improves blood flow throughout the cardivascular system. Thanks for your question.
Avatar f tn If you can, buy a home blood pressure monitor and keep track of it at home. It could have been a spike due to stress. If it stays a little higher, they may give you a med to help keep it down until baby comes.
Avatar f tn i hav ean issue with my blood pressure which is anxiety and stress related? does anyone else have problems wiyh there bp ? i have an appointment with the midwife tomorrow and the thought of it has got me pulse racing already!!
