Avatar f tn and could not get to supraventricular arrythmia because of loss of blood pressure.. I was in intensive care for a couple of days to keep blood pressure before doctor put me on norpace cr 150 twice a day. I have been on it ever since and am now 71 years old. Recently I was given biaxin by my family doctor not aware of the possible interaction and I began to retain after only two of them. Since then I have not been able to get my blood pressure under control again.
Avatar m tn 60 or 80 mmHg, the most likely basis is stiffness of the major arteries (your age can probably rule that out), aortic regurgitation (a leak in the aortic valve), arteriovenous malformation (an extra path for blood to travel from a high pressure artery to a low pressure vein without the gradient of a capillary bed), hyperthyroidism (blood test can rule out) or some combination. More likely for your high pulse pressure (75, 85, 80) is your medication.

492329 tn?1290883385 t too overly concerned about the blood pressure, but said that he would not want to see it high for 15 years because it can wear out the heart muscle. Are you taking your blood pressure at home three times a day, morning, noon, and night and recording it? That would be a good idea and then you can take it with you to the doctor to show. My husband takes his three times in a row in the morning, three times in a row in the evening.
Avatar n tn ve been on Lopressor for years to keep my heart rate down and Avalide for blood pressure. Then in November, my arrthymia worsen. So after about 6 weeks of playing with my Lopressor dosage, my doctor cut the lopressor and put me on Cardizem which is a calcium channel blocker like verapamil. My heart rate became much worse...very rapid like around 120-140....after 3 days of this, I begged to get back on Lopressor so we did and it's back to how it was ...no better no worse....
492329 tn?1290883385 Try to relax and not worry. My husband is 42 and has blood pressure is as high as yours. He is not worried and on a water pill to bring the blood pressure down. My heart flutters and beats differently at times and sometimes feels strange, but it has done this most of my life and there is nothing found wrong to date. Warning symptoms are chest pains, shortness of breath, water weight gain (gaining a pound every day).
Avatar m tn ve seen no blood. I am a 55y/o male.
Avatar m tn NO YOUR NOT!!!! More than likely the reason for your high blood pressure is due to the alcohol, and stress that you been under for the last 2 years. It's hard I know to realize what is coming first, the alcohol or the stress. Go back to your Dr's and explain (if you can) what is going on - they are here to help us. As for your panic attacks, do they come on after or before your drinking?

Avatar m tn I have in the past taken steriods but am currently not. I went to a doctor for a routine visit this week and my blood pressure was high for the second time in 2 months, so the dr. did EKG and few other in office tests (this is an internist, not heart doctor). He said that there was an abundance of fluid on my heart and that I was not far off from stroking. I had noticed in the past 6 months extreme shortness of breath and fatigue after my morning workouts.

541196 tn?1293552936 Does anyone take medication for high blood pressure and is pregnant? If so, could you please tell me what you take and how successful it is? My dr. just prescribed me an ACE inhibitor that has a big ole warning about death to fetus. I am not pregnant, but my husband and I have been trying. We put our trying on hold for a few months, but would like to resume soon and we aren't super careful with protection now... leave it to God.
Avatar f tn GP has not done blood testing had many blood rtests in May for the anklyosing spondilities but he is not bothered with that, he is more interested in the blood pressure readings, tody all l do is sleep and throat is so achy
Avatar f tn Bupropion can cause pounding of heart and palpitations. It usually does not cause high blood pressure. If the high blood pressure is drug related, it will come down in 2-3 days. If the high BP persists, please get this investigated, monitored and treated. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.
Avatar m tn can drinking grape fruit juice effect a person taking high blood pressure medication
11970743 tn?1426036106 Went to the hospital to get checked out for preeclampsia yet again, checked my blood pressure, urine for protein, and had a cuff on my arm that would check my blood pressure every ten mins and everything was just fine. We work ourselves up, I know I definitely do. Your feet can swell up from so many different things. They pretty much told me to just take it easy and stop being on my feet so much. Good luck!
Avatar f tn m taking meds for my high blood pressure. Seems to be working really well every check since it has been 120/70 .
9070037 tn?1414632966 Previously my pregnancy I was taking medication for High blood pressure. It was Chortalidone which is a diuretic. I was taking that before and during the first four weeks of my pregnancy , until My gyn told me not to take it during my pregnancy. I have 15 weeks already, I'm worried if that could had any effect on my baby. Am I supposed to control my high blood pressure during my pregnancy too? Anyone with high blood pressure that can give me an advice please?

698356 tn?1240150727 As far as living a healthy lifestyle I've got it. I haven't been able to exercise as much as I wanted while I was incredibly fatigued, but I'm picking that back up. The thing is that for nearly a year I've had blood pressure that is all over the place. I think it was 140/105 at the dentist on Thursday. It's got to be secondary in nature. I'm 26, eat incredibly healthy, have good weight and BMI (I'm a size 2 or 4). I can't go on blood pressure meds.
Avatar m tn Welcome and thanks for the question. 210/110 is VERY high. A prescription for Lisinorpil is a good start, but her doctor really needs to be working her up to find an underlying cause and resolving that issue. I could be idiopathic meaning there is no cause, but she should be checked. She should be on the DASH diet and exercising to bring her levels down, with her doctor's approval. Having said that, it could have been high due to anxiety as well.
Avatar f tn When I went for my 30week appointment my blood pressure was high, they kept me in for a few hours to rest and then I could leave after 2hours. I had to go in the next week to check again but then my high blood pressure was fine after that. It wasn't high again, it was just that time.
Avatar n tn The answer is it depends upon the etiology of the high blood pressure There are several different reasons for high blood pressure. For example, eighteen percent of people with high blood pressure can reduce the pressure by taking simple calcium supplements. That study was funded by a company manufacturing calcium-channel blockers, for whom I worked briefly two decades ago.
Avatar f tn Yesterday I had an appointment and my blood pressure was high (143/80) at the beginning of the appointment. My doctor took my blood pressure again at the end of the appointment because I've never had a high blood pressure reading before and it was 130/93, so still high. Today I'm doing a 24 hour urine test to make sure my kidneys and liver are functioning properly. Has anyone else had this situation? I'm worried about having preeclampsia along with gestational diabetes.
