Hello, I’ve had high blood pressure since I’ve been a teen quite stable at 160/80 I’m now 27 years old and have been on medication for 2 years now… I started with avopro 150mg I went down to about 145/70, then they changed my medication to avalide 300/12.

My husband's BP was 152/100, but it stays down now with HCTZ which is a water pill that brings blood pressure down. His doctor wasn't too overly concerned about the blood pressure, but said that he would not want to see it high for 15 years because it can wear out the heart muscle. Are you taking your blood pressure at home three times a day, morning, noon, and night and recording it? That would be a good idea and then you can take it with you to the doctor to show.

I have had a rapid heart rate usually around 102 beats per min. for probably close to 4 years now. My current primary care says it is just because I take verapamil for migraine prevention but don't have high blood pressure. This doesn't sound reasonable to me. I am 37 and wonder if I need a referral to a cardiologist.

Try to relax and not worry. My husband is 42 and has blood pressure is as high as yours. He is not worried and on a water pill to bring the blood pressure down. My heart flutters and beats differently at times and sometimes feels strange, but it has done this most of my life and there is nothing found wrong to date. NO YOUR NOT!!!! More than likely the reason for your high blood pressure is due to the alcohol, and stress that you been under for the last 2 years. It's hard I know to realize what is coming first, the alcohol or the stress. Go back to your Dr's and explain (if you can) what is going on - they are here to help us. As for your panic attacks, do they come on after or before your drinking?

I have in the past taken steriods but am currently not. I went to a doctor for a routine visit this week and my blood pressure was high for the second time in 2 months, so the dr. did EKG and few other in office tests (this is an internist, not heart doctor). He said that there was an abundance of fluid on my heart and that I was not far off from stroking. I had noticed in the past 6 months extreme shortness of breath and fatigue after my morning workouts.

If you have no prior history of high blood pressure i would think theres a very good chance as these meds do crazy stuff....... I have read here where those with high BP before tx saw it go down while on treatment...... Good luck going forward.

I have had high blood pressure through out most of my pregnancy i am now 35wks. I started swelling really bad last week and at my apt yesterday my blood pressure had jumped even higher to 156/90. My mid wife didn't seem concerned at all she just re took it and made my appointments weekly now. I can't seem to get rid of a head ache ive had for a couple days. Should i be worried???

I am now on an appeal for a new treatment after being turned down by my insurance company.Has anybody with similar symptons experienced sudden high blood pressure and found out what might have caused it.The doc I saw in the emergency room couldn't answer why it happened.

Your bottom number is a little high but not horrible! I am 35w3d and I have had constant high blood pressure since 26 weeks. Its always around 165/94. Since its been constantly high, I see my doctor every thursday for an ultrasound to check the babies heartbeat and fluid, a non-stress test, and a chat with my doctor! I also go in every wednesday to do blood work to check for preeclampsia. This week will be my 4th time doing it.

I get high blood pressure when pregnant (this is my second pregnancy) it just happens. I'm fit and healthy and continue this during pregnancy and have hardly any salt in my diet.

cervix is still close which is fine with me no hurry lol but dr informed me that my blood pressure was high so he restricted me from work nn put me to rest...but I'm wondering if this means I'm getting induce? They help curve my nausea too. Ive never had high blood pressure from too much salt however in my past pregnancies(like in last trimester)if i ate them too often my feet would swell up pretty good. At this point its hard for me to ignore cravings. Sometimes your body craves what you need but just try to eat whatever it is in moderation.

So the last few weeks when I go to the doctor my blood pressure is high (can hit 160/110) so each time he sends me to l&d blood work is normal and the last visit was the only visit without protein in my urine. He said he could induce me on Tuesday which would make me 36+4. At last visit baby was measuring 7.7 lbs. I have also lost my mucus plug. I also have gestational diabetes. My question is would u be ok woth inducing this early. I am afraid to make the wrong decision.

Hi... can anyone tell me if high blood pressure can cause shortness of breath? I just had it tested and it's 191/120 with a resting heart rate is 111... I'm asthmatic, but this is not the same.... I just can't seem to catch my.breath, especially when I've done very little excercise(walking) Thank you ...
