Low levels of GABA can be linked with anxiety with high levels have a relaxing effect. You mention you take Ativan, this is a benzodiazepine. Like most benzodiazepine, Ativan will work by increasing the level of GABA by affecting the GABAa receptor. This cause a the relaxing, hypnotic and sedative effects of benzodiazepines.
Chronic exposure to benzodiazepines will result into severe withdrawal symptoms if you don't take them as directed.
Ok here's my story. About 5 years ago I started smoking weed and became addicted to smoking everyday and I became dependent of it; in other words I had to smoke before bed in order to go to sleep. About 1 month ago, I decided to quit because I knew it was time and for my own good; however I decided to start taking my grandmothers lorazepam to go to sleep. I have been using it almost everyday taking 1mg at night in order to fall of sleep. I am tired of doing this drug and need to quit!!!
I had an episode 2 years ago, where i was smoking weed with some friends (it wasnt something i do often), then all of a sudden my heart rate rose full on and i thought i was dying. i went to the ER.. from then onwards i always keep thinking that i am about to have a heart problem/heart attack/ stroke.. i used to take paxil for 6 motnhs but never worked, and now i take half a milligram of ativan when it gets bad.
What I found with my methadone was that my pain could be handled without it. I did smoke weed and am an advocate for that. I came off of heroin with methadone and then tapered off of that. If your wanting off of the opiates ask your doctor for help. They can prescribe non narcotic medication to ease your suffering. They may also prescribe benzodiazepines like Valium, Ativan, klonapin to name a few which would help maybe with your seizure disorder.
I'm worried about the weight gain with Zyprexa, is there something else that could be used with the Prozac instead? Also until now I've also been taking 1 mg. Ativan in the morning and 1 mg Ativan before bed. Is it safe to use Ativan with the Zyprexa?
on our year anniversary he didnt even say happy anniversary all i got as a present was the big news that he had began to smoke marijuana again. i hate weed with a passion i dont see why people say it isnt harmful, it helps those who are ill but if your healthy it could be very harmful. i always tell him to stop and he refuses and he knows i really am NO fan of weed he always argues with me telling me it isnt a drug but to me it is!
i smoked weed yesterday and at first i was happy and laughing etc, then 5 minutes later i began to a severe tight chest and rapid pulse, i began to freak out thinking i was having a heart attack, now today i still have a slight tightness in my chest and feel a liittle bit anxious but dont know why, however it is only about one tenth of the way i was feeling yesterday, how long should the tightness last? i acknowledge that this was probably a panic attack ...
I am supposed to begin by taking half of a pill of of the zoloft for the first week then to go to a whole week after the first week. I was given the Ativan to help me with my anxiety attacks and also for insomnia. I was wondering if anyone has ever had this combo and had any luck and also wondering of any kind of side effect issues i may have until i adjust to the drugs? I was previously on Lexapro and .5 of ativan and switched today to the Zoloft and bumped up the mg of ativan to 1 mg.
We had far more problems with people getting out of control and violent with alcohol. With weed, we had about a dozen heavy smokers and they were just basically worthless. However, both population dealt with the damaging effects of both substances; particularly the depression caused by smoking weed. But, I had several friends that had terrible drinking issues and should've been in a treatment center for alcohol abuse.

Has anyone used weed to help with morning sickness? What are people's takes on doing so? I've been so sick everyday and been told by multiple people to try it, but I'm scared it harms the baby.
