ativan with suboxone

OK. I struggled with my opiate addiction so much that I never fully realized how physically addicting I was becoming to ativan too. The doctor who helped me wean off the percocets by putting me on suboxone and then slowly wean me off those over a one year period told me that I can't be on ativan while on suboxone. Well, my Primary Care had put me on the ativan (.5 / 2 X a day- but I took more when I "needed" it.......

I have been taking 1 mg of ativan about 30 minutes before bed almost nightly for around 3 months. I'd say at least 6 out of the 7 days a week but some weeks every day. I am also on 12mg of suboxone a day for about 11 months due to a 7-8 year oxy/heroin habit. I have just never really liked benzos as a high but the doctor gave them to me cause I was having night terrors and waking feeling like I was having a heart attack.

I asked for help with this before, and only received one reply. I have awful anxiety and take 2 ativan a day and still can't stop crying. It's been about 43 days since I stopped suboxone after only taking it 5 weeks. Does any one have any answers?

Hi Frank, Congratulations on your move to suboxone, that is a step towards completely getting clean if that's your final goal. I took suboxone for about 4 years and finally detoxed in June and feel great. You will want to be very careful with the ativan, valium, and xanax when taking suboxone. Read the warning label that you got with your prescription, there is a risk of serious complications or even death when benzo's are mixed in high dosages with suboxone.

I have yet to recieve an answer about the suboxone with klonopin. both have been prescribed to me and doc said its okay but i felt like **** when i took them both together. and my new doctor seems to be a prescription pusher so im not sure i trust him. i should probably just call a few doctors and see what they say. cant take the anxiety much longer. the suboxone helps but i cant take it when i need it for anxiety u know? so what the hell can i do? some one respond please.

Is it OK for an oxy abuser to take xanax with suboxone to calm down anger and short temperment ?

I have just recently been diagnosed with an unknown seizure disorder which left me with a stage 4 brain injury. I have Addison’s Disease, Sjogren’s, Raynaud’s, hypertension and blockages in my leg, right shoulder and left kidney. I have found that if your med list contains opioids they will not treat you the same. I had to find a new neurologist due to this.

I asked this question not so long ago, but does subutex/suboxone make benzodiazepines less effective. I know you are not supposed to take it together, but it was prescribed by my neurologist. It is something I noticed.

I did a suboxone wd in November but it was only for 6 days of suboxone. Any info would help. I slept good last night at 30 hours of course with help of ativan. which has been a big help aloing with 5http.

Can you tell me the best way to get off of the Norco, should I do it with Suboxone again or just taper with that-I also have some Robaxin and some Ativan-I like the Robaxin but I don't really like to take the Ativan-they are .5 mg.

This will help me get better prepared for returning home (Also during that time I will be tapering off the Ativan pills that are helping with detox. Would you be ready to jump off Suboxone at 2 mg for 2 days? What should I expect being that I was on Subs for about 2 months, but was on a strong Opiate just before getting on them.

I am wondering if anyone out there has had luck with this drug. I am supposed to take suboxone starting tomorrow at 2.5 mg. per day. From what I am reading it sounds like others are taking much larger doses in the beginning. I have no idea how the doctor came to the decision as to what dose to give me I just hope it works. Anyone out there also start out at a low dose?

took suboxone for 3 days...its been 3 and a half days with out anythinig but ativan, im still wigging out and am not getting much sleep at all...is this ever goin to end??i was on oxys for 6 months than methadone for 8 months...than back to oxys for 5 months.... when am i gunnna start feeling better?????

but the hospital didnt have suboxone doctors working on the weekend so i had to wait,, let me tell you even with 1mg of lorazepam given every hour and lots of other anti-withdrawling drugs it felt like three long years and was still horribly hard to do..

I have recenltly researched this quite well, after after attempts with Methadone and Suboxone going horribly, I am glad to see a new drug. I had allergic reactions with Meth and Sub, due to my Ativan dosage, but am on a maintance dose of Suboxone just to keep me functioning. What type of doctor prescribes Clonodine? I have no regular MD right now, but have insurance and can go anywhere.

Recently, I asked to be taken off of Pain meds and Ativan for sleep. Since the day I stopped the Ativan I have not had a full nites sleep. In fact, for 13 days now I've gradually gone from 2 hrs to 2.5 to 3 and then 4hrs. But all of this is broken sleep. I sleep at 1am for an hour. then back to sleep for 2.5 then up again and back to sleep for another hour. I am in desperate need of some suggestion. I have taken benedry, herbs, milk, meditation tapes and deep breathing. NOTHING IS WORKING.

One cheap one is ativan if you use it rite it will help out a lot. Most Drs dont have a big problem with it.

I think Klonopin is similar to Ativan, which I was on for about 4 years before and I had a hard time getting off of that... I had to taper off very slowly and by reducing the dosage by 1/4 each step. I would get very agitated and extremely nervous. However, compared to getting off of hydro's, the Ativan was not nearly as bad. Anyway, I'm telling you all that just because maybe Klonopin withdrawal is similar to Ativan withdrawal.

Congrats on making it to day 10, I hope you keep up with the excercise because for me when coming off suboxone excercise has totally changed my life. It really does help during the detox period to get any sort of sweat going, gets the endorphins going and really helps speed up recovery time. tomorrow am I am going to clinic for possible suboxne treatment to get off of hyrdrocodone. I also take ativan for anxiety .5mg 1-3 day. I just read that the two cannot be taken together. anyone know? I was looking forward to appt. in hopes of getting help, but now am more anxious.

s 9 month old baby had to have surgery, and because she was pulling out her breathing tube they put her on several strong narcotis, along with ativan. then they used methadone to taper her off of all the other meds. now she is addicted to methadone. they are tapering her off of the methadone, and of course she is going through hell. does anyone here know if suboxone can be used for infants?

SINCE BEGINNING SUBOXONE TREATMENT AFTER WD FROM METHADONE AND ATIVAN-I'VE ONLY SLEPT 3 & 4 HRS FOR PAST 18 DAYS. It's been 6 weeks of withdrawals from suboxone. I had my back surgery last week. I still feel so bad I can't stand myself. Please tell me this will pass and is there anything I can do to help myself.

(old one cut me off of opiates and Benzos) for 2 weeks and then did a 5 week Ativan taper with new dr. The shelf life of Ativan means it stays in your system longer, Xanax is the fastest acting benzo. The WD is hard, but so worth it. Sleep is hard to come by coming off both opiates and Benzos at about the same time but I'm sleeping well now with melatonin. My anxiety has gotten much better too; it was out of control during WD, but it gets better.

You have to be careful what you take with suboxone. Things like Ativan are extremely dangerous to take with Sub. So are some of the really strong muscle relaxers. Please becareful with these.

I just got back from the store and bought the Thomas Recipe stuff and i also had a friend get me off the street 5 stop signs [8mg suboxone] I have read that Ativan and suboxone are a no-no together. But i do not want to spend 100$ a week on OC-80s anymore. The Ativan has helped alot at work with just some chilling tingles but i am still on my first day clean of OC. The last OC i took was at 9pm last night. Should i not use the Suboxones at all if i am going to use the Ativan?

I am 216 days off Suboxone. When you start taking Suboxone you will NOT have Wd's. Now coming off Suboxone can be a different story. For me I didn't have Wd's really but some ppl have horrible Wd's from it. If you have any questions about Suboxone feel free to ask. I will try to help if I can.
