489786 tn?1255692879 Has anyone been on armour thyroid and had a successful pregnancy? I am currently on 4 grains of armour. I don't have a thyroid. I just suffered a miscarraige. The doctors are doing lots of testing to determine why I miscarried. I was searching for a succesful pregnancy story and someone that took armour thryoid while pregnant.
Avatar f tn t get it from your doctor, call the lab that did the analysis) and insist that your doctor order Free T3 as well as Free T4, every time you have thyroid blood work, which should be monthly during pregnancy.
Avatar n tn I am sure they have been regulating your thyroid constantly since you have been preggers. Are you taking armour or synthroid? The armour can also read differently on paper, so make sure you have an endo that knows their stuff. Feel free to ask anything. Don't worry and relax. Meditate as much as possible.
Avatar m tn I'm 34 years old. My pregnancy is high risk. I had a circlage when I was 17 weeks. My T3 hormone is low. I'm on Armour Thyroid. I did not take my medication for 3 weeks now because it is no longer in stock. I'm I in danger?
Avatar m tn I am currently taking 60 of armour thyroid once a day. I have not been feeling good at all and I can not loose weight despite trying everything. I was told my labs were normal but I wanted to see if there was any insight Free t4. 1.09 TSH. 1.01 A1C. 5.
Avatar m tn I have been taking Armour thyroid with satisfactory results. Unfortunately, I can't find a pharmacy that has it in stock. My M.D. has suggested that I begin taking Synthroid and I am scared that my symptoms may return. I am taking 90mg of Armour and my prescription is for 150mcg of Synthroid. If I have no choice and must change, how do you suggest I make the change.
Avatar m tn I, probably, had to tell you my thyroid history first. A year and a half ago I was a healthy person living without any pills. It so happened that during a check up they found a noddle on my thyroid. The result of the biopsy was: "Suspicious for papillary carcinoma". The surgery which I had last February showed that the noddle was much smaller than they had told me (1/2sm instead of 1.5) and it was benign.
Avatar n tn I have been on Armour thyroid 60mg during this time. Everything was great until last summer I have been starting to gain weight approximately 10 lbs. and feeling really tired. My doctor raised me to 5mg of cytomel but I didnt feel any better and my free t4 came back low (0.48)so he changed me to 90 mg of Armour in June. I lost 3 lbs but didnt really feel any better still tired. I just had my blood work done and my TSH came in at .04 (from 0.41)free t3 2.8 (from 3.
Avatar m tn I have had acid reflux very badly when I got back into being hypo, during the time when Armour Thyroid became unavailable. As soon as available again, I went back on Armour and in just a couple of days, the acid reflux was gone.
Avatar f tn I was never diagnosed with hashimoto, just low thyroid. I took Armour for at least ten years. The last perscription I got was a different pill, which started me thinking about why I was feeling so bad which prompted me to do some research. That is when I saw that Armour had reformulated their drug. Erfa is the same as the old Armour according to what I have read.
Avatar n tn I am not sure armour can help with anything but the thyroid. Why did they put you on armour after being on synthroid for so long? I had real problems with the armour and went very hyper on it. I went back to the synthroid. I am still trying to adjust the dose after being on it for four months. I hope they started you off on a small dose of the armour.
Avatar f tn I was on levothyroxin and did not do well. I had read so much about getting on armour thyroid that I was glad when the new doc ordered armour. Now I have been reading about the new formulation and am wondering if I would do better with getting my levels up if I switched to the ERFA? Will my levels ever get where they need to be if I stay on the Armour? there is so much to consider here. It sounds like you can easily have your RX changed to a different pharmacy that would provide the ERFA.
Avatar n tn s major objection and resistance to using natural thyroid preparations - its variability in its blood-levels. Most doctors using Armour thyroid are not aware that Armour thyroid should be used twice daily and NOT once a day. The major reason is that the T3 component has such a short half life and needs to be taken twice daily to achieve consistent blood levels.
Avatar f tn My pharmacist told me that she had heard Armour was going to stop being made sometime during 2013. I could not find anything on the Armour website. Is there an alternative brand that is essentially the same thing that anyone can recommend to me?
Avatar f tn Because my doctor would not renew my meds until I came back in for tests, I went a month without my Armour Thyroid before the last tests, taking health food store thyroid glandular during that time. My doctor said my tests were off but they look pretty good to me. The T3 and T4 are within Range. The THS is way high. Is that a real factor when the T4 and T3 are good? Free T4(.80-1.80) . recent .88 last year .78 Free T3 ( 2.0-4.4) recent- 2.6 last year 2.4 TSH (.40-4.5) recent -12.73 last year 4.
Avatar f tn I'm a proponent of Armour thyroid. I've taken the synthetic stuff for 10 years with nothing but negative results. I've suffered from depression and panic attacks during that ten year span and the only thing I've found that works is a combination of brewer's yeast and Armour thyroid. DON’T EVER take the synthetic thyroid, it’s worthless and should be banned.
Avatar f tn Cut those Armour thyroid pills in half! Absolutely! As my good doctor says, "The most common starting dose for patients with hypothyroidism is Armour thyroid, 90 mg which is cut in half with a razor blade and half is ideally taken twice a day, 10 to 20 minutes after breakfast and dinner. If you have trouble remember taking them, then take the entire dose before breakfast. It is also ideal to chew the tablet before swallowing.
Avatar f tn Hi there. Yes your thyroid and menopause have a massive effect on each other. I am going through exactly the same thing. I was told that HRT can have a settling effect on the thyroid during this transition, unfortunately I personally cannot take it due to it's side effects. So, your thyroid medication needs can change whilst on HRT.
Avatar f tn After learning about the importance of Free T3 here on the Forum, I got mine tested and confirmed as low in the range. Got my doctor to switch my meds from Synthroid to Armour Thyroid. After some tweaking, I am now taking 3 grains of Armour. My Free T3 is now 3.9 (range of 2.3 - 4.2) and Free T4 is .84 (range of .60 - 1.50), and I feel best ever. For info my TSH has been around .05 or lower for about 30 years now.
Avatar n tn 7-1.48) I started on Armour Thyroid at 1/4 grain -and increased to 1/2 grain(30mg.) During that time my lab results were: TSH 1.47 FT4 .89 TSH 1.08 FT4 .86 TSH .65 FT4 1.01 (this is when i felt best) but then after a few more months on 30mg TSH 1.07 Ft4 .9 and my dr increased me to 60mg Armour (but this is the new armour) my results: TSH .05 FT4 .86 and my hypo symptoms are back??? I have called my dr.
393685 tn?1425812522 In recent months I have been following the rumors of Armour thyroid medication being in short supply. Since I am an Armour thyroid patient I became concerned with the rumors and started conversing with other Armour patients and advocants of this medication. I know my medication dosages have not changed much from the original 60mg (1 grain) to 30 mg (1/2 grain) So far I am not having trouble getting my refills - but from what I am reading that could be an issue soon until 10/08.
