Avatar n tn She has no other symptoms. She plays, she eats well. Just sneezes and has nasal drainage. Her eyes are good. No swollen or runny eyes. Is this allergies? I noticed she usually only sneezes when her nose touches objects or she sniffs. Sometimes mucous comes out with the sneeze.
Avatar n tn Last fall and this fall I had the same symptoms that my doctor could not figure out. Namely, I got weaker and weaker every day until I was completely bed-ridden. This fall when it started i noticed I had bad post nasal drip, chest pains (tightness) and breathing difficulties and severe shortness of breath. Can allergies and or chronic sinus infections make a person so weak and fatigued that they can not function normally?
Avatar f tn Hi, Tinnitus with post nasal drip could be due to sinus infections or ear infections, which are a result of untreated post nasal drip. If you are experiencing these symptoms only when you are at home, then there should be some thing you are allergic to causing these symptoms. As, you mentioned you are allergic to dust mites, they cannot survive in a humidity less than 50% in the environment, but their fecal matter can be the culprit causing these allergies in your case.
Avatar f tn Hi, Severe persistent allergies can be treated with newer options of treatment like leukotreine inhibitors, allergy shots, mast cell inhibitors etc. These options should be chosed considering individual symptoms and their severity. Best.
Avatar m tn The septoplasty or rhinoplasty for deviated nasal septum (DNS) will help you to relieve your symptoms. Oral anti-histaminics and nasal corticosteroid spray against prescription may help to alleviate allergic rhinitis symptoms. I suggest you to consult an ENT specialist. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn I tested positive for covid 19 5 weeks ago and negative test about 3 weeks ago however I am still experiencing post covid symptoms of nasal congestion, runny nose ,sore throat and tiredness. I have been prescribed amoxycillin antibiotics for a suspected bacterial infection however after 1.5 courses of this no improvement in symptoms.
Avatar n tn I take claritin once daily, delsum cough medicine, benadryl at night, for the pressure in my ear I plug my nose and mouth and blow air until I hear and feel a mild POP or use steam for nasal problems, I use saline non medicated nasal spray and gargle salt water, I'm gonna buy a humidifier to help too.
Avatar m tn I have read recent studies from Universities such as John Hopkins that state that Allergies can be debilitating on its own and can make you feel weird symptoms, such as the arthritis like aches and others on my list, possibly due to histamines. I had mold in my room for approximately more than a year, not an extreme amount, but it was there. Right next to my bed... basically a couple of inches from where I sleep. I believe I might have Mold Toxicity instead of Allergic Rhinitis.
Avatar n tn Hi, It is good that you have started steroid nasal sprays and a course of antibiotics - this should help with your symptoms - you might need to take the spray for some time though. Your symptoms seem to due to both sinusitis and rhinitis. You need to avoid dust exposure and activities which increase the particulate matter in the air you breath will increase your symptoms.
Avatar f tn Hello everyone! I should first appologize for the length of this post. I'm really hoping someone can help me. I've been suffering from inflammation of the nose, throat and ears for several months now. It all began in April. I went to my doctor for a routine exam and had him look at my right ear and throat as I had woken up that morning with slight pain. He said I had an ear and throat infection and e-prescribed me an antibiotic.
Avatar n tn Hello. I have been suffering from the worst seasonal allergies in my life this year. I have itchy watery eyes, nasal congestion, and scratchy throat. I haven't been sleeping well at night for the past 3 weeks because of the nasal congestion and have been waking up with a nasty dry mouth in the morning. I have tried benadryl, claritin 24 hrs tablets, zyrtec (also 24 hr tablet), nasal spray (some kind of anticholinergic solution), Singulair and phenylephrine so far.
Avatar f tn I currently take Xyzal and Nasacort for allergies and medication for asthma (Singulair and Symbicort). I'm also taking allergy shots for cat dander and grass pollens. When I go running by wooded areas I get a horrible runny nose. My runny nose goes away about 10-15 minutes after I get inside from my run. I'm wondering if it could be from allergies or if it could be from something else. Thanks.
Avatar f tn anyone having severe allergies...what r u taking ? --is children's. claritin ok?
Avatar m tn If this is a seasonal allergy period where you live, it is a time to take extra care to carefully dust (make sure the dust is captured and disposed of and not flying around - it would be best to have someone who does not have bad allergies dust for you), avoid strong chemical exposure and known food allergies. Stay inside in a filtered/airconditioned environment as much as possible. Steamy showers sometimes help drain the passages.
Avatar n tn I did this with success for a few months. Then i began to notice that i still get nasal allergies when i enter a home with a cat (eyes and chest seem to be fine). Could anyone help explain what may be happening here, or possibly help me with an alternative. Staying away from homes with cats is not really an option for me. Thanks.
1644331 tn?1372333656 I have food allergies, outdoor allergies, asthma and for the last 10 years have suffered from chronic sinusitis. These sinus infections occur two to three times a year. The worst part of all of this is the constant mucus which seems never ending. It has greatly affected my ability to sing which is my passion. When it goes into an infection I get the same symptoms that one would if you had the flu. Hot cold severe headache nausea it can be painful just to hold my head upright.
Avatar f tn I have bought a nasal lubrifiant called Secaris, treat allergies and other things, Secaris reduce nose inflammation, hydrate....
Avatar m tn s pressure behind them. My nasal membranes also dry up at times. These symptoms seem the worst during changes of season, so I've always assumed that its allergies. That said, most people that I know who have allergies complain more about runny noses, sneezing, etc., which doesn't seem to happen much with me. So, can someone confirm that this is indeed allergies and not something else?
Avatar f tn These medications all help to relieve short term symptoms of allergic reactions. However, there is a way of preventing the long term symptoms of allergies. This is through a process known as immunology, more commonly referred to as an allergy shot.
Avatar f tn I have had seasonal allergies along with dust, cat and dog allergies too since 30 years ago. I finally had 5 years of allegy shot ending aroung 2005, This year has been so bad with all the pollen I feel like I'm right back to day one. My eyes are itchy, my nose runs and my palate is so itchy. I take Atrovent for post nasal drip, aerius for the allergies and I'm also on Advair 250 discuss. Why is this happening after all these years? Will it go away or am I supposed to get shots again.
Avatar f tn I am 36, No previous trauma , no swelling that i can tell , and No flu symptoms , no allergies, sinus, nasal dischare , eye tearing
Avatar f tn Also try breathe right nasal strips for easy to breathe relief. And simple nasal saline.Usually the nurse of your doctor is more available than the doctor to talk & able to confirm the selection you make is healthy.
Avatar f tn I have sinus / rhinitis and I have been taking the claritin 10mg everynight. I have been experiencing rt ear throb on occasions, pain in eye sockets, headache on top of the head and when I bend to pick something up off the floor my eyes, nose, forehead feels heavy. I purchased some allergy meds which helps ease the aches in my eyes. I also take excedrine tense tabs which helps with the headaches. I am confused weather I should go to the ENT specialist or the optomologist or even both.
