Avatar n tn Hello there, thank you for the advice you gave me the other day.I went to my doctor yesterday & he prescribed Aldara cream for me to apply on the warts/skin tags that I have on my face & neck area.Does any one know if this stuff really works,or is there any pre-cautions or side affects that I should be aware of?How long does it take to see results?I was told to apply this cream three times a week.Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar m tn Not an ideal scenario... Has anyone had luck with medicines like Zyclara or Aldara for flat warts on the hands?
Avatar n tn I'm wondering if anyone else has had experience with this cream and its effectiveness on genital warts. These warts seem to be very stubborn and I have been to the doctor on numerous occations to have them frozen off, but that is very painful and embarassing so I am now trying the cream. I just want to know what I can expect from this. Thanks ladies...
Avatar n tn I’ve since been to another dermatologist that re-froze the same lip wart and two other little one’s she saw on my lower lip and she gave me some Aldara 5% for the hand warts that I didn’t want her to freeze yet because I want to see if these two other ones are going to scar bad, and she told me to come back in 6 weeks. I asked both dermatologists if it was possible they were sexually transmitted and they both said it was possible, but didn’t seem too concerned with finding out for sure.
Avatar n tn i have flat warts for four years. for the first three years, there were only 2 of them on the left side of my face. and suddenly, the number keeps increasing this summer . i don't know why. now warts spread to my whole left side of my face. Does anyone have their wars growing only on one side of their face??
Avatar f tn I have had flat warts on my hands (back and palms) and feet (bottom and top) for over 15 years now. I have left them alone for around 7-10 years and recently started seeking treatment again. Tried Candida shots and while I had sloughing in one tiny spot with the first shot and redness and swelling with the others no significant changes have happened. I intend to try other creams etc that are on the option list (aldara etc) and I'm taking cimetidine (rxd by my derm) just in case it might help.
Avatar m tn Your immune system is vital so you should attempt to strengthen it by a healthy lifestyle and vitamins etc. Warts on the hands are a different strain and will not cause genital warts, so you would not of gotten genital warts this way. You wont have them forever, chances are in 2 years they will be gone however you seem to pose more of a risk of taking longer to 'clear' because of the weakened immune system.
Avatar f tn It is appropriate for the tough skin on your hands, but may cause serious pain/damage on sensitive genital skin.
Avatar m tn Thanks for the reply. I have three lesions on the left forearm. The aldara cream gave me some small bumps on my left ear which are slowly going away. The symptons began this year. I noticed that they get the most irritated at night and they begin to ooze randomly are these warts?
Avatar f tn hi there thanks in adance for any advice i have had anal warts since about a month ago, and i got them removed surgically. i am worry to develop warts on penis, though my doctor told me the warts are there where are most of the time. should i be careful not to touch my penis if i have touched my anus? should i be careful while showering? is the virus killed by soap? sorry for so much questions, i just dont find these answers anywhere on the web.
Avatar m tn I have recently been diagnosed with Genital warts. My GP started me on Aldara 5%. I have 2 starting and now i have about 15. Im getin depressed over this as i cant see any improvement and started a new relationship the same week i was diagnosed. I have of course talked to him about it and he has been checked out at the local STD clinic and is clear. Im so upset about this im not sleepin. Has anyone any advise as im considering getin them frozen off.
Avatar n tn They are far reduced now, but keep coming back even after freezing, aldara and electric burning. For a few months(3-4 months just a while back) i had the wart on my right thumb too, i didn't realise that either, and i kept biting into it(i have this habit of biting the skin arund my nails) , and when eating (in my culture we eat with bare hands most of the time) i might have licked it quiet a few times. Now with freezing n salysilic acid it is gone.
Avatar m tn They were just white dots with reddish skin area around them (well everytime i had warts reoccurence, it has been always like that, the skin area around the warts turn a bit reddish) So when I took the shower this morning i decided to look at them closely and touched them 1-2 times (and i didnt try to squeeze/press them, just touched them). Of course i washed my hands afterward, but strangely one of those "suspected warts" fell out just because of heat and my touch..
Avatar f tn which I always am haha I last went in on the 9th on March, and she assured me she DEFINITELY didn't see warts. I had the same bumps I have now then but I feel like they are more raised... maybe just my mind playing tricks on me. I put aldara on a couple times, which I think just aggravated it more to be honest. But if what I had in December were warts, then the aldara worked immediately and you should definitely try it! I've also looked at forcyde spots and vestibular papilloma...
Avatar m tn I have a couple more questions if you don't mind. 1) Is HPV responsible for warts on your hands etc? I once had a wart on my hand, I applied cream over a couple of weeks and it went away and never came back, does this mean I have a type of HPV that is now dormant and 'cleared'? 2) If I get diagnosed with genital warts, get treatment and they go away, what are the chances that they will come back?
Avatar n tn I have had genital warts on the base of my shaft for 5 years now.
Avatar f tn Hi, There is no single treatment for warts that is 100% effective and different types of treatment may be combined. You should consult a skin specialist for the symptoms. If these are plane warts - she would benefit by using salicylic acid cream, cryotherapy, curettage and light cautery. If these are filiform warts - cryotherapy or curettage and light cautery would help. Facial warts should not be treated with wart paints because of the risk of severe irritation and possible scarring.
Avatar n tn My 15 yr old daughter has had these same flat warts on her forehead for 2 yrs. She is soooo self conscious! I feel for her so much. She has been to 4 diff docs and tried castor oil, aldera, tagamet and accupuncture. Nothing works! Accupuncture does seem to lessen it some and hold it down, as long as she goes twice a week. If you find anything that works, please email me at ***@****. We are getting desperate.
Avatar m tn I had the itching for 6 months before I started to show visable warts, they put me on Aldara cream which was painful but it got rid of the warts in 1-2 weeks so I was pretty happy. I was diagnosed at about the end of Feb and so far i've had no reacurances but I am keeping in mind that it is likely for a second outbreak so I don't find myself feeling disapointed if I do find more! So I am still in the process of clearing.
Avatar f tn I am currently dealing with flat warts located on my hands and arms, and now my legs! Part of the problem is that they are SO small - sometimes I won't see them unless I shower, and the skin plumps up. The derm has been freezing them, but @ my last visit the doc said it was normal to have bumps on your skin and for me to just come back as needed, even though she admitted that the ones I had were the smallest she'd ever seen!
Avatar f tn Thanks for the response. I am not really worried about who gave it to who(doesn't really matter at this point). My boyfriend has been pretty great about it...the main thing I am worried about in my relationship is the loss of intimacy this has caused(there has been not even a hint of sex or even any serious kissing since I found the warts a couple weeks ago). This is new to us so hopefully we will get better at this part over time.
1655600 tn?1302165828 c) Your experience is confusing because pimples is not a word that people use to describe genital warts. Those are terms for herpes. I've been on this forum for over a year and pimples simply isn't used nor is it a part of my experience. When I first read your post I thought herpes not warts. Of course I'm not saying it's herpes and I also don't understand the meaning of the number for HSV on your STD test. I also take issue with you saying you have a weak immune system.
Avatar m tn When the wart re-appeared, it was smaller in size and I continued to use Aldara to clear it. Also, I’ve had plantar warts on my hands and feet since I was little. About 5 months ago I observed some white, small, very flat, cluster bubble like formations on the skin of the head of my penis that looked similar to the other warts I previously had hence, I believe this may be HPV related. I’ve considered talking to a dermatologist however, desperation and frustration are taking over me.
Avatar n tn I know they say that with the acid test some areas can turn white when in fact there is not viral activity going on. I asked if she recommended Aldara just to be on the safe side and she said no. Am I just paranoid or is this so called viral area that has always turned white going to be that way forever? It has done that for the past seven years ever since I had the first cryo treatment but no bumps have ever came up anywhere.
Avatar m tn I've had warts under my nails, warts, on my hands, on my feet, in my genital area in my anus. It can most certainly make you feel down...especially when others notice them and make a face about how ugly they are. I'm a woman. I've had abnormal Pap smears. I've had abnormal cells removed from cervix. I had the Gardisille vaccine as well. I am still struggling to get rid of these warts. It's refreshing to hear I'm not alone. I sympathize greatly with anyone who is infected.
Avatar n tn (I had raised bumps on my vulva.) The GYN diagnosed me with HPV/genital warts and I have since been put on Aldara. When I raised the herpes question, the doctor was dismissive (I've never had intercourse, had one recent encounter where genitals touched that had resulted in the HPV, had not had any "open, weeping" lesions), and I felt assured. Today, however, I have a rash of little red bumps on the inner thigh of my right leg. They are clearly not the warts that I have on my vulva.
Avatar m tn well the doctor said that could be warts they gave me aldara but they did not go way i have 3 on the palm of my hands one on my lower pinky finger and 2 on my finger tip i know it is not herpes cus they have been there for over a year what do u think i should do?
Avatar f tn and I have already known that i have genital warts and am treating for it! It is a topical med called aldara that i began using january of 2009. my gyno had mention that the medicine will cause itching and burning so being in the 3rd month of using it my vagina started to itch.... then i began to notice 3 red blotches all vertically in a row near my vagina that itched.... (keep in mind it is not wear the warts are located.
Avatar n tn Warts tend to occur in warm, moist places, like small cuts or scratches on the fingers, hands, and feet. Warts are usually painless and go away on their own in 3-6 months. It is common for warts to reappear after treatment .Picking at a wart and touching the wart and then another part of your body can spread warts to other parts of the body. You will need to see an experienced dermatologist and get them removed.
Avatar n tn We've chased all sorts of treatments with nothing lasting very long. Do you know whether Aldara could offer some hope? I understand that it was originally for genital warts but some skin cancer patients have had some success. Any thought and comments about this or any other treatment would be most appreciated. Thank you!!!!
