aldara

Avatar f tn Well you want to start by not using tampons, they can spread and irritate your warts. also you can treat the inner warts with aldar but when you return home you can have them frozen off. you can start taking Vitamins E &C to help your immune system, eating healthy and exercising will also help. HPV in most cases will clear in 2 years at the most.
Avatar n tn the best thing i can tell u to do is see your dermatologist b/c there are other ways for the warts to be treated then with aldara and i havent seen them for bout 2 yrs now

Avatar m tn aldara is to be applied on the warts only and not the surrounding area... did a doctor diagnose you for genital warts and prescribed Aldara for you? If not so, please see a dermatologist and first get a correct diagnoses and talk to him about application of this cream... a mild irritation, soreness and itching is part of the healing process with this cream... you should apply petrolium jelly (vaseline) or some other moisturizer to help your pain relief and...
Avatar f tn However the warts that were still present in the inside of my vagina were treated at the obgyn with Trichloracetic acid because the aldara was not working for me at all.
Avatar m tn hey im a 21 yr old male. i have been using aldara one two very small genital warts (applying as little as possible with a toothpick). anyways despite best efforts the cream has gotten on other parts of my skin near the warts and has almost bleached it white... I have decided to stop using it for this reason even though the warts are not completely gone (i hate aldara now).
Avatar m tn I have been using aldara for about a month on my genital warts and have had no burning or tenderness that I have heard people talk about on these forums. It has been working great and I am noticing my warts are starting to shrink. The other morning after using my aldara cream overnight I noticed a lump under my skin where I applied some aldara. It is very tender to touch and very noticeable.
Avatar m tn Genital warts usually do not cause any form of cancer. Over 90% of genital wart cases are caused by strains 6 &11 which are not cancerous. There are certain strains of genital warts that can increase cancer risk, but the vast majority of warts do not.
535760 tn?1213891166 Aldara has some discomfort associated with it, but I found it less painful than TCA (though much more itchy!). Any treatment for genital warts is uncomfortable though. The treatment has to be irritating to the skin to destroy the warts, nothing less gentle would be effective.
Avatar n tn In addition, let me provide some additional thought and then as a question or two. Warts are caused by HPV. Not all warts are genital warts. There are over 100 different HPV types of which most do not typically cause genital warts but instead cause warts and/or infection in other locations (a scientifically interesting thing about HPV is the fact that some types of HPV seem to “favor” different sites to cause infection .
Avatar f tn So I found out last week that I have HPV (low-risk with genital warts). I'm really depressed, it feels like its the end of the world! My whole life I have practiced safe sex (except with my bf who I've been with for 2 years) and I have gotten yearly pap tests that came out normal. I really thought I was a healthy person until these bumps showed up! The doctor prescribed me Aldara cream and I just started using it last week, she said it can take up to 8-16 weeks for the warts to go away.
Avatar n tn was diagnosed with Genital Warts. The doctor prescribed Aldara cream (5%). Since my doctor visit, I have noticed that the warts have increased in size & number. With the use of Aldara, would you happen to know how long it takes to see any results? With tough economic times, I've been extremely stressed to the point where I barely get enough sleep. Do you think that the stress is contributing to the increase of those warts?
Avatar m tn I Was diagnosed about a month ago with genital warts at planned parenthood the lady told me to use aldara because i have 1 small lesion and a bunch of what she says to be tiny warts that are the size of a needle point. They are really small but i have a lot. Just so you know how small they are you wouldn't know they were there unless you stretch out the skin and take a look.
Avatar n tn 30 yr old male in good health who recently had an initial outbreak of genital warts (4 weeks ago). They are mostly located at the base of my penis. They are very small but many clustered with a few random ones on the lower part of my penis that popped up as recently as this week. I have been using Aldara for about 4 weeks with little skin reaction at all (not even redness). I have a two part question. 1.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with genital warts in 1999 I was treated with aldara the warts didn't come back until years later and the outbreaks weren't that bad. The outbreaks would come every other year and go away without treatment. However, in August 2008 I started getting outbreaks and I thought it was genital warts but it turned out to be genital herpes and I am still having outbreaks my last outbreak was in November but I am on suppressive theraphy.
Avatar m tn The doctor prescribed me Aldara which is a cream to treat genital warts. I was told to apply it 3 times a week, and Ive been doing it so, until a week ago when I researched all about Aldara and it says to do it twice a week. I am currently in week 8. So The warts are gone.. they were gone on week 4, but now the issue is this. As part of the down part of using Aldara is that it makes your skin go red where you apply it. But what happened now is that it burned off a piece of my skin.
Avatar m tn Google diet for immune system and warts. I know A and E are good for warts, C, multi and fish oil are good for immune. Green tea is good for cell but I can't drink it because of thyroid issues but white tea is ok. A natural vit store is a great place to find out ways to treat warts/immune system. They often have books, a computer to find info and sales people who have loads of info in their heads.
Avatar f tn I have genital HPV and I was treating the warts using Aldara. Applied a lot of the cream Monday to the outside of lower labia minora. Wednesday the labia was hard, swollen and really sore. Friday the swelling was reduced and in it place were 2 sore lesions located just inside the labia. I am now convinced it is herpes from looking at pictures online and reading the symptoms. I am also experiencing tingling down there too! I also have a decreased appetite although this could be from worry.
Avatar f tn i just found what i believe to be genital warts within the last week. ive scheduled an appt with my ob/gyn. i assume the warts will be removed and i'll be put on some sort of medication in case of reoccurance. since there is no HPV test for men, i wont know if my boyfriend has contracted HPV from me until they actually show up. (ive read it can take months to years to show up.
Avatar f tn Hi this is tedabell I have a question about genital warts I was diagnosed with genital warts in 1999.I used aldara as my treatment. Is it true that the immune system clear HPV in 2 years and isn't genital warts a viral disease.I am hearing a lot of different things about HPV.I haven't seen warts in a very long time does that mean my immune system cleared the virus or the warts. Do I still have the virus. Another thing I have genital herpes I was diagnosed with that in June 2010.
Avatar m tn Hi I've been using Aldara for 3 applications now for what I believe are genital warts under my foreskin just below the ridge, they are only small. Up to now nothing has happened, no reaction, no itching no reddening of area nothing at all. I was expecting some sort of reaction or change with it being such a strong medicine. Is this normal?
Avatar n tn there are over the counter treatments for common and foot warts but not for genital warts. for those you need to visit your doctor so he can preform one of a number of different treatments to make them go away. once he treated they may come back, usually within the first 3 months. the doctors on medhelp say that if you can go 6 months without a recurrence of warts then u can assume that your immune system has repressed the virus, as it does 90% of the time within 1-2 years like i said.
Avatar m tn i agree that asking doctors' and experts' opinions on genital warts treatment is a good idea. for over-the-counter treatments, i can recommend you Wartscide and Oxyfend Zerowarts which are not expensive but equally effective. Good luck!
