Avatar f tn I have had flat warts on my hands (back and palms) and feet (bottom and top) for over 15 years now. I have left them alone for around 7-10 years and recently started seeking treatment again. Tried Candida shots and while I had sloughing in one tiny spot with the first shot and redness and swelling with the others no significant changes have happened. I intend to try other creams etc that are on the option list (aldara etc) and I'm taking cimetidine (rxd by my derm) just in case it might help.
Avatar n tn Hi, The mainstay for wart therapy are the keratolytics such as salicyclic acid. They may be available in solutions or plasters and they may be readily bought over the counter. Warts do have various classifications and treatment varies depending on the type of wart. Flat warts may be treated using liquid nitrogen therapy and topical retinoic acid gel may also be helpful. However, it is important to note that these medications may be abrasive and they have their side effects.
Avatar f tn i have had facial flat warts for about 6 years and are really widespread now. i have seen two dermatologists and was finally prescribed aldara cream. i have tried this for nearly 4 months now with no sucess. i would be grateful for any advice This discussion is related to Flat warts on face.
Avatar n tn Hello, I have also suffered with flat warts for almost 3 years now, and I know the pain you and especially you daughter feel. After trying various treatments, nothing seemed to be working at least not permanently. One thing that reduced the appearance of the flat warts was retinol cream at a strength of .05 but it is extremely drying to the skin and is very harsh especially on skin that is not used to it. I also was told to try aldara to no effect.
Avatar m tn Not an ideal scenario... Has anyone had luck with medicines like Zyclara or Aldara for flat warts on the hands?
Avatar m tn Hello, Aldara cream or Imiquimod is used for treatment of actinic keratosis, warts and topical treatment of biopsy-confirmed, primary superficial basal cell carcinoma (sBCC) in immunocompetent adults. It is still not confirmed whether your mole is a malignancy or a mole. I would suggest you to get an evaluation done from a dermatologist. Confirmation can be done by excisional biopsy with narrow margins.
Avatar n tn If a dermatologist hasn't seen them, one should do so. Sometimes other benign, nonviral growths can be mistaken for flat warts. Best. Dr.
Avatar f tn Hi, There is no single treatment for warts that is 100% effective and different types of treatment may be combined. You should consult a skin specialist for the symptoms. If these are plane warts - she would benefit by using salicylic acid cream, cryotherapy, curettage and light cautery. If these are filiform warts - cryotherapy or curettage and light cautery would help. Facial warts should not be treated with wart paints because of the risk of severe irritation and possible scarring.
Avatar m tn Genital warts can be diagnosed through visual examination of the penis and surrounding areas. For small warts several medications(like podophyllum resin, Podofilox (Condylox), Trichloroacetic and bichloroacetic acids, Imiquimod 5% cream and interferons) are available, which can be applied directly to the surface of the warts.Other treatment options include electrical cautery, surgical removal, Carbon dioxide laser treatment and electrodesiccation.

Avatar m tn I have been suffering from flat wart for nearly 7 years now. They usually appear on my chin, behind my ear and on my head scalp. But the ones on my chin are very very stubborn. I have been to dermatologist every month, removing on an average 3-4 warts. I doctor have tried out various way to remove them (Applying cantharidin, liquid nitrogen + Currettage and burning the wart ).
Avatar f tn Has anyone had any bad reactions to using Aldara cream for warts? I'm into my second week to using the cream, and I the pain is getting so bad. It's burns, stings, itches, it's red and swollen, hurts when I go to the bathroom, etc. It feels best when I lay flat and place an ice pak over my shorts. Dr said it's normal, and that's it's working, which I agree....it just HURTS. Also, I am wondering if anyone has tried any natural remedies or changed their diet to boost immune system....
Avatar f tn I have been dealing with flat warts for 3 years now , I have had a very similar experience to you . I have them on my legs , I have tried every at home / over the counter treatment with no results they always come back even a daily bleach rinse to kill any virus , apple cider vinegar, duct tape , I have had them frozen a multiple times . At one point I had a bi-weekly standing appointment for cryo it seemed to really help . I as well have done Aldera cream .
Avatar f tn Hang in there - I know it's really easy for us to say this probably isn't herpes but from the aldara and hard for you to relax about it. We'd be the same way even with all we know if we were going thru it ourselves!
Avatar n tn About 6 weeks ago I went on aldara to clear up some condyloma on my glans penis, tiny, flat, brown freckle-like specks. My doctor told me to smear it all over my glans to remove the spots that were there and possibly and little microscopic warts that were forming, and the spots have disappeared. I understand that reddness and flaking and all that occurr, and indeed they have. However, whenever I get an erection it is extremely uncomfortable and my glans looks "deflated", i.e.
Avatar n tn Hey Doctor I have had flat warts under my chin in the shaving area for more than 2 years now. I had them for a while before i realised they were warts. This was because i had razor bumps issue and had sensitive skin, so i never realised i got warts, i kept shaving(and applied stop bump creams n shave lotions) n spreading them under the chin area for quiet some time before switching to electric razor and getting treatment.
Avatar n tn I will be making yet another appointment tomorrow to see my dermatologist for my facial warts. From my last biopsy I had done it came back that the were indeed flat warts. I will let you know what my Dermatologist advises this next visit. After reading about my immune system being lower due to me being pregnant that is probably the reason they are spreading. Ahood, my heart goes out to your daughter I can't imagine what this is doing to her self esteem.
Avatar m tn Granted, her study was for the HPV strain that causes cervical cancer, and not genital warts, but she does report that there are those who tried it for warts and it worked. I’ve been taking 3 grams of AHCC every day for two months now. The warts have faded. They are not raised anymore. In most light, they are, in fact, barely visible. Sometimes I really have to squint to see them. But especially in natural light, I can see them: very faint, flat, specks of red.
Avatar m tn I have seen 2 dermatologists and they assessed the bumps unlikely to be warts. Is it very easy to identify warts, especially for dermatologist?
Avatar m tn ) with genital warts, but these feelings have been exacerbated since beginning my treatment of aldara (which I use very sparingly on all of the warts*) Could aldara be a likely cause. 4. After the warts clear (assuming aldara is effective), will it ever be reasonably safe for me to have protected sex with an unaffected partner? My current new girlfriend is asking to have sex, and I have been using my back injury as an excuse not to. Do I need to break her off? Thank you.
Avatar n tn Hello, Two years ago I was diagnosed w/ genital warts (just one, actually) and had it treated by cryotherapy. That summer more warts broke out, and I took Aldara under the guidance of my physician. that seemed to clear up most of them. I had some smaller outbreaks in the coming years, usually corresponding to stress. I had some extra aldara and used it, normally it worked OK, but it still left small warts occasionally.
Avatar m tn I have previously been treated for genital warts with trioacetic acid and the warts are gone from what I can tell. It has been almost a month since my warts have been gone. Stupidly I got back together with my last recent sex partner and she also has bumps or genital warts that havent been treated yet. Well to make a long story shorter we had protected sex with a condom, but there was pubic rubbing together while we had sex. What is the possibility of being reinfected with this again?
Avatar f tn I am not sure how good Aldara treats I am about to start it this Sunday after a month of acid treatments. Look at my pics for what my warts look like. At first I felt they resembled skin tags. Vestibular papilloma is a rare condition in which small pink bumps grow on the inside surfaces of the vulva. These bumps, or papillae, may be confused with genital warts, but have a different appearance, and cannot be transmitted to another person.
Avatar n tn Welcome to our Forum. I'll be answering your questions. Dr. Handsfield and I share the forum. By chance you got me. FYI, the reason we share the forum is because we have worked together for nearly 30 years and while our verbiage styles vary, we have never disagreed on management strategies or advice to clients. I think these concerns are best addressed by starting at the beginning. With all due respect to the nurse who has been providing you with care, these may or may not be warts.
Avatar n tn I have had genital warts on the base of my shaft for 5 years now.
Avatar m tn Well anyways went to planned parenthood here in town and the nurse said it was a genital wart and the red little bumps were other warts that may form or wont form but it doesn't look like anything i saw in pictures for genital warts because it is really thin and flat and not cauliflower shaped. The nurse told me about treatments and recommended and aldara type cream she said it was the best way to boost my immune system. So i went to a urologist and got a second opinion.
Avatar n tn i was recently diagnosed with genital warts, but mine are all in my pubic area instead of my vagina (thank god!!). Since they've popped up, I've only tried shaving once, and ended up cutting every single wart. So shaving is out of the question. But personally, I can't stand not being hairless down there (of course then I don't have to look at the warts). Does anyone know if Nair or something similar is safe to use with GW?
Avatar m tn They would disappear for a day or two but then return. Two larger ones, flat, on the top side of my shaft and quite a few smaller ones on the bottom. It wasn't until recently, about 2 or 3 months ago that I started to treat them aggressively. I started using Apple Cider Vinegar and immediately noticed a change. The smaller ones on the bottom of my shaft would sort of disappear and reappear, kind of like they flattened out but then would raise up a bit.
Avatar m tn Since I am traveling oversees for several months, I self-diagnosed, and bought a 1-month supply of Aldara 5% Cream from an OTC pharmacy, and have been applying that following the directions in the product insert (3x/week, overnight). What seems odd is that the shape of the 'bumps' are flat, only slightly raised, flesh-toned (i.e.
