Aldara for plantar warts

Common Questions and Answers about Aldara for plantar warts

aldara

Avatar n tn There are several treatments for warts. See a dermatologist for the best one. Warts may need to be treated every two weeks for successful treatment. As the wart is treated and is reduced in size, to continue treating it and making it smaller is the best way to get to the base of the wart to get rid of it for good. Perhaps the one big wart you had was really two warts that grew together.
Avatar n tn but that is the most effective process i have seen for a resistant wart. aldara seldom cures stubborn plantar warts and the acid is not much better. as for shots, that gets expensive and is debateable too. there are not any homeopathic remidies to a wart that has resisted conventional medicine as i know it.
Avatar n tn So my doctor was about to cut them off, when I brought up the Candida antigen which is injected into common warts, plantar warts, etc as intralesional immunotherapy. She thought it was a great idea and we should try it. The injection was yesterday and by the end of the day yesterday the large warts were physically smaller, the smaller ones were disappearing. I'm shocked at how quickly results seem to be occurring.

Avatar m tn When the wart re-appeared, it was smaller in size and I continued to use Aldara to clear it. Also, I’ve had plantar warts on my hands and feet since I was little. About 5 months ago I observed some white, small, very flat, cluster bubble like formations on the skin of the head of my penis that looked similar to the other warts I previously had hence, I believe this may be HPV related. I’ve considered talking to a dermatologist however, desperation and frustration are taking over me.
359937 tn?1220987451 You might need to soak and then pare or trim down the wart and then apply Aldara for it to work well. Persistent or very painful plantar warts may need to be surgically removed. You can want to discuss above mentioned intervention with your kid's pediatric dermatologist before taking a call on surgery. Alternatively you can take a review opinion from other Dermatologist. Hope this helps. Bye.
Avatar m tn plantar warts can go under the skin.....may have to cut that out!
Avatar n tn If the wart refuses to respond and causes pain when walking, then surgery seems reasonable to consider, even though this is not often necessary for plantar warts. I advise you to get an opinion on this matter from a surgically-oriented podiatrist. Many use laser or scalpel surgery to remove such warts. (The material would be tested as well when it's removed.
Avatar m tn Whether or not your plantar wart was treated or resolved spontaneously, most likely it never reappeared and you haven't had other warts of the hands or feet. Your partner can expect the same outcome for her anogenital warts.
Avatar n tn I'm a healthy 21-year old female. My fiance and I lost our virginity to one another three years ago and have been sexually exclusive with one another ever since. My regular MD felt I should wait until age 21 to have my first pap smear, so all routine physicals have been through her. Nothing has come up irregular. This week I had my first pap smear. My doctor delivered the news that she "thinks" I have genital warts.
Avatar n tn I am unaware of any research showing that slower resolution of HPV type 1 infections (the cause of most plantar and hand warts) predicts more problems with HPV-6, -11, and other causes of genital warts. My guess is it probably doesn't correlate. There are differing opinions on the ethical obligation to tell future partners of past HPV infections; the very fact that it's a moral question predicts that there won't be complete agreement.
Avatar m tn additionally, i hv to use aldara to ensure the infected cells are killed there. There are ppl who hv plantar wart for so long, and when left untreated for so long, can leave a hole when the bad cells are killed (there are pix on the net for this) ...gruesome The most enlightening part of the scabbing, of he big unseen wart on my butt is that i no longer hv unexplained back pain in my back, that hv tortured me for so long (for abt nearly 10yrs).
Avatar n tn ) if the opposing partner has/had them. Plantar warts and warts on the finger(s) are not transmitted to the genital area. HPV caused by genital/anal warts is only transmitted by genital warts. Extensive research has shown that there are over 100 types of HPV....nonthing that cannot be resolved without the use of such creams as Aldara or cryotherapy (freezing). Anal fissure: (1) caused by trauma to the anal region (due either to sexual stimulation or poor diet).
Avatar n tn After trying to always practice safe sex, the condom broke with my next partner in the spring of '06. I immediately got tested for everything and was negative for everything except HPV in my cervix. 1-2months later, I dismissed a never seen lesion(s) for an ingrown hair(s). Then, it got bigger and darker. I realized these did not "pop" like my other ingrowns and it was not responding to an effective over-the-counter tx I've applied to my ingrowns since Feb.'06.
Avatar n tn I've searched all over for an answer to this question, and all I've come across are topical treatments for genital warts. I haven't developed obvious warts, but I do show many small red lesions on the meatus, glans penis, shaft, and at the base along the pelvis. Generally, of the two home treatment options, Podofilox and Aldara, which is more effective for dealing with small lesions?

Avatar f tn Thanks for the info frank, did you also use aldara on your genital warts? I have it now, and doctor told me to apply it twice a week for 16 weeks, i hope these genital warts would be gone soon, I have a question, if these warts are gone, is still there any chances to infect your new partner? I am new to all these, I hate that I trusted the wrong one before. I felt like dying inside having these sufferings.
