one day i went to go check the pills she gave me because i was on birth control and wanted to know if it would affect it so i looked up the name acyclovir to find out it was for the herpes simplex virus....i freaked out and called and asked them why they gave me a pill for herpes if i didn't have that and the nurse on the phone told me that its for more than one thing and that its best not to google things cause it give me false indications.....

t do a whole heck of a lot for cold sores, especially if symptoms have been there for several days. at this point even acyclovir orally isn't going to do a whole lot either. no idea why they prescribed an antibiotic for you. not sure what the last medication you listed is for.

the test that was used was elisa test 4. generation for bouth of us. is it possible that the result is false negative because of the acyclovir use (this person did not take any medicine at the time)?

He tested me, and I came back positive for HSV2. I started taking suppressive meds (acyclovir 800mg/day). The bump popped, diminished, then a month later came back, still no itch, no pain. I did the 2nd test via another doctor. Aren't they the same IGG test that differentiate type 1 and type 2? How different are these 2 tests? What are their names? The best way is still to go for the same test center and do the same test? If the positive comes back high, that means I get it? So far, I had protected sex, even for oral sex but with a person that I dont know her sexual status in May last year. Is there chance to contract gonorrhea with protected oral and vaginal sex?

a pap test wouldn't reflect an external hpv infection. a normal pap in july just means that you didn't have anything causing cervical cell changes at that time. a regular pap doesn't check for hpv routinely either to know if you have a cervical hpv infection or not too. have you had your gardasil shots? your partner tested negative for herpes so no reason to think you have herpes. a week's worth of a subtheraputic dose of acyclovir wouldn't affect test results either.

if this prescription was in anyway helpful for HPV I'm sure it would already be prescribed to help people with genital warts.The fact that your or anyone else using this cream was able to relieve their genital warts might just be coincidental. Theres no way of knowing whether if some anti-viral medicine for another infection may or may not help out a certain infection.

If you are going to continue a relationship with this person you should confirm exactly what dose of acyclovir they are on. If they really are only taking 200mg once a day that isn't enough to reduce your risk.
