I went to planned parenthood again, they gave me the prescription for acyclovir without examining me, so I also went to another doctor who wasn't sure what it was, and said she did not think it was mites, but treated me for it, just in case. It isn't shingles, because I never had chickenpox and was vaccined for it. After a week of terrible itching and three times a day acyclovir, it went away. I continued 2 times a day acyclovir for suppression.

The antiviral drug Acyclovir that you have been prescribed is usually done by doctors for chicken pox because it is a viral infection. Because chickenpox is a viral disease, antibiotics are ineffective. Antibiotics may be prescribed if the blisters become infected. Calamine lotion helps to reduce itchiness. You can apply that also.

The typical one sided rash and pain occur with Shingles, also known as Herpes Zoster or Zoster. It is a medical condition characterized by the development of painful blisters on the skin. Zoster is caused by the 'Varicella Zoster Virus' which is also responsible for causing chickenpox. The virus can lie dormant and can get reactivated at intervals producing symptoms. Hence there is no permanent cure.
But viral disease weakens your body and you need to rest and recuperate and you can do it after falling of all scabs and you have no symptoms. Take protein diet with good vitamins and minerals for speedy recovery.

It does not look like shingles, it looks look chickenpox. Since chickenpox is a member of the herpes family, could it be possible for the viral culture to be positive and because it happened to be in my genitals the nurse chalked it up as that? I know that chickenpox can appear anywhere on the body, including the mouth, eyes, and vagina. I would find it odd if what I am experiencing on my chest and back is from hsv 1 or hsv 2. Has anyone had or have heard of anything like this???
First I thought it was some slight jock itch because it has been hot/muggy and I was sweaty for a few days. But I am more worried now that I see a trail of bumps running down to my heel. Any ideas?

At four different occasions with clinical presentation of shingles clearly presenting I tested 1800 to 1926 on the IgG test. However, the IgM test on all four occasions with shingles presenting ALWAYS tests IgM- EQUIVOCAL???? What does this mean?

I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be shingles. Shingles occurs in people who have had chickenpox and represents a reactivation of the dormant varicella-zoster virus. The first sign is usually a tingling feeling, itchiness, or stabbing pain on the skin. After a few days, a rash appears as a band or patch of raised dots on the side of the trunk or face. The rash develops into small, fluid-filled blisters which begin to dry out and crust over within several days.

The acyclovir and pregnancy registry did not find any issues when women who were pregnant took acyclovir during the first trimester. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

t had chickenpox who is exposed to shingles may come down with a case of chickenpox. But this is not an issue if you have already cleared the shingles, and you may well have. Anyway, these are just some thoughts, and I'm a medical writer not a doctor. But I just wanted you to know that not everything that's called herpes is a sexually transmitted disease.
