Hard to tell which one. You can try using acyclovir instead. for recurrences it's easiest to take 800mg 3 times a day for 2 days. Hitting the virus quick and hard seems to help recurrences heal fastest.

I was diagnosed with genital hsv2 about 3 months ago through PP. The initial outbreak was almost over when I was tested so I don't know if the acyclovir aided in clearing it up or not. I was told to take it 3x a day whenever I first notice symptoms and continue for 7-10 days, longer if it isn't cleared up yet. I've had at least 2 more outbreaks in the same spot since then and been taking the acyclovir for about a month straight right now.

Thank you for the response! I usually have acyclovir, but I went away for a week and of course I forgot it and that’s when I get this cold sore. It seems to be pretty mild and already gone down a lot. I’ll be home in a few days so I can take some acyclovir if it’s still there!

Has anyone found anything that helps them with the horrible fatigue? I am acyclovir and yesterday my doc. put me on trazodone to take in the morning. It has made me feel more tired than I normally do which I though was impossible. He has mentioned Ritalin has anyone been on this and had any luck? Hi there, In November 2008, my boyfriend kissed me when he had a visible coldsore on his lip. 24 hours later I had one come up on my lip, but with it came 3 blisters in my mouth (on my tongue & gums). From the day I caught these cold sores, I've hardly had a single day without them. They are rarely on the outside of my mouth though, but always on the inside.

They said I had Lymes and treated me with Rocephin 2 gm Iv for 28 days and DOXYCYCLINE 100mg po BID for 28 days. The muscle fatigue went away and joint pain but all my labs from quest were negative. My western blot,bortenella,Babesia,Q-Fever. Lymes specialist says a biofilm will form around the antibodies causing them to not show up. Is this true? I am still having pain under my left breast under ribs at times. My muscle do get tired easier. I am confused and do not know what to do.

You might be suffering from chronic fatigue. It is better to consult a physician. He/she will recommend you appropriate treatment.

Help! I have seen 16 drs who do not believe in chronic fatigue. I can not even get out of be and I have been on provigil and adderall neither of which help me at all. I have also been to the emergency and my thyroid is supposedly level. They just tell me that they can not do anything for me. Is there any help for me out there?

Because the cause of chronic fatigue syndrome is unknown, treatment programs are directed at relief of symptoms. The goal is to regain some level of function and well-being. Always talk to your doctor about any treatment decisions for CFS which is based on your overall medical condition and current symptoms.

It soulds like you could still have lyme disease. It can cause all your symptoms and chronic fatigue. Lyme can be misdiagnosed as chronic fatigue syndrome.

Hi, sorry to hear what you're going through! I really don't have any answers for you, as I haven't been through chronic EBV... I'm more just trying to "bump" this thread so more people have a chance to see it. Have you made any changes in your lifestyle due to your symptoms (specifically, are you trying to rest as much as possible)? The only other possibility I can think of is Chronic Fatigue, but I'm not entirely sure how your symptoms fit in with that.

Was discontinued. With next occurrence, I asked for another anti-viral and was prescribed Acyclovir. This one caused headaches, backache, confusion and fatigue. Was stopped. I am now having a recurrence and didn't take anything. After about 7 days, I felt it was almost over, then wham....came back with a new leison and flu-like symptoms. Tried Acyclovir before bed last night, was up most of night with headache. I haven't taken anything today. I don't know what to do.

I've suffered from CFS since 1999. For me, I usually feel normal for about a week then CFS hits me and can last anywhere between 3 days up to 10 days. Typical symptoms for me is obviously fatigue constantly, like that feeling of drowsiness when you just wake up and usually lifts after 20 minutes but with cfs it never lifts and I feel like a zombie until the cfs passes. I can describe it like this. Emotionally, mentally, spiritually and physically I am paralysed.
