Taking paxil and klonopin together

Common Questions and Answers about Taking paxil and klonopin together

paxil

org/wiki/SSRI#Contraindications_and_drug_interaction It says that benzodiazepines like alprazolam (Xanax) or diazepam (Valium) (klonopin is also a benzo) along with SSRIs (paxil/prozac) may increase blood levels and risk of toxicities. IF this is true 4) Why am I prescribed Klonopin with the Prozac (and previously the Paxil?) I have had no problems with mixing the two together but I'm curious as to why it would say that in wikipedia. Thanks!
There are many people using this regimen includng myself. I take Wellbutrin and Klonopin. So no need to worry. I hope the Paxil works for you. Take care.
Hi! I've been taking Paxil for 2 days now and just feel really weird. Kinda like it's making my symptoms worse. My eyes are more sensitive to light and feel like they are not working together to focus. I feel really dizzy and lightheaded. I feel really tired. Almost flu like without the aches. Also, my stomach has been CONSTANTLY upset. Is this normal until it gets into my system? Also, how long does it take to get into your system and start taking effect?
i started taking zoloft 100 mg 2 times a day and xanax 1 mg 3 times a day and its making me black to the point i stole something and did not come out of it till i was sitting in a holding sell in hand cuffs what does this mean ?
So yesterday, went to the OB doc, and said I wanted to go back on Paxil. So I am starting on just 10mg Paxil, and continuing just .25 Klonopin 2x day. Slept a little better last night, just woke a few times catching my breath. I don't have much Klonopin left....hopefully the Paxil kicks in soon!!!!! I desperately want my life back the way it has been for the past 5 years. I am miserable right now. I do, however, have a counseling appt tomorrow night, and I can't wait!
Most drugs I've been on I found I need to taper off of, especially Paxil, the withdrawal symptoms on that were horrific for me, but I've been off of anti-depressants for a year now and I actually feel better without them. Still taking .5 mgs of Klonopin at night because if I stop all together I know my body will hate me for it.
Then it became harder and harder to find a doctor to write me a script for Klonopin, much less for the amount I was taking. I have had doctors I have gone to for 2 yrs or more decide they were not writing scripts for Klonopin anymore, see ya, goodbye, have a nice life, Oh and if you start having bad withdrawals go to the ER. I have lost so many jobs because of doctors and their "...the DEA is watching me, etc. I have tried to cut back with no success, mainly because I don't want to stop.
I am 8 mos pregnant with second daughter and been taking Ambien throughout pregnancy and occassionally taking 0.5mg Klonopin. For those out there on Klonopin, it maybe best to cut down to 1 or .5mg if possible and keep it at low doses rather than stressing about eliminating it. But - so you know - you can have a healthy baby even if you've been taking low doses of Klonopin for the first two trimesters.
I like you suffered from only a few anxiety attacks, and my doctor wanted me to be on Paxil. I took it on a Tuesday morning, and felt like i was high for 2 days straight, which made me go to the emergency room because it wsa making me go crazy. i only took a 10mg, tablet. Not to mention, that it was affecting my entire day because i felt so messed up. I will tell you that i honestly can't stand the feeling of being high or (not in control).
That would be what I would think....IF I only wanted to hang out with friends and drink...but I want to drink all the time....by myself....with people....it doesn't matter. Also....there is a very distinct possibility that this medicine is screwing me up....I have had horrible nerve pain in my whole body....cannot sleep at night even though I am exhausted and NOW I am hearing things.....the hearing things just started today.
I know that both valium and Klonopin are benzo's, but the Lab says I'm taking valium and I'm only taking the Klonopin. They did a Spectrographic Analysis of the urine and it stated Valium. Why would this be? I have not taken any Valium or any other benzos except the Klonopin and the lab knows that my test will be (+) for benzos and for the Klonopin. Talk about anxiety, I'm doing all the tools that I have learned in my recovery to use to prevent relapses and this really has me upset.
I have been taking Paxil CR for 8 years now for severe Panic Attack, Anxiety and agoraphobia...and I have tried to get off them but the withdrawal is too great for me. I feel like a quitter but it is what makes me feel sane. I can't take off work, I can't take a vacation unless the Paxil corporation wants to pay me 3 months worth of salary. If I would have know that Paxil was going to do this to me.... I would have never started to take it.
It could be the two combined, i was severly down and depressed when i started taking paxil, i was already taking Buspar for anxiety,to me the paxil is apick me up, like i,ve said in previous post, i,ve tried to get off paxil, when ieven cut back i start feeling down, like the me before paxil,so i,ve decided to stay on it all for now, to much other stuff going on in my life&familes to get in that shape right. check with your Dr. or druggist.
Paxil and Klonopin are frequently prescribed together, and the dose you are taking is quite modest. The klonopin does not build up on the schedule you are taking, so that is not a problem. You do have to be most careful when you stop Paxil, that is when trouble can occur, and similarly with Klonopin but not as much of a problem.
Yes, he gave me paxil instead and i've been taking it for 2 weeks or more and i can't tell if it's working or not, only 20 mg per day which i think is a very low dose anyway so i dont't even know if it should be working. Yes, me too in the am, especially at lunchtime i go out to get lunch, a salad because i'm trying to lose weight, and i wait in line and everyday feel like im having a heart attack and im going to die. i get all racy and hot and afraid.
I would say that I take a pill maybe once every month or so depending on what is going on in my life (let me say, I am also on Paxil and Buspar..a walking pharmacy!) So take as needed with Klonopin works well with me. I do first try to get through the attack on my own, but if it is severe I take it! Hope this helps!
Your situation sounds just like mine when I was first diagnosed with GAD. I was in the ER and they said I would benefit from Paxil. They gave me .5mg ativan "hahah, thats all" and sent me home Well to describe what paxil did to me was complete he11. And the drs here where Im from dont like to prescribe any kind of narcotic "benzo" for the life of them. So, I got to sleep peacefully one night, and the same stuff was happening to me with the paxil.
Because of this he and his nurse decided that I was a drug addict or a dealer and cut me off and put me on paxil and vistaril. Let me tell you, it's like taking a placebo. My panic attacks and anxiety have seemed to heighten, in my opinion they are both worthless pharmaceuticals. So then they put me on seraquel, which I might ad is for people with bi-polar disorder and psychotic behaviour neither of which I have ever been diagnosed with.
I am on Tareg for blood pressure, from specialist....then my GP put me on Wellbutrin and klonopin .... which my specialist took me off and said take Xanax only with the Tareg. Any comments much appreciated.
Feeling increasingly unhappy about my lack of control over my weight gain, I ceased taking Paxil and Birth control pills three months ago and consulted the web and a Naturopathic Dr. I found out that even after one stops taking medications, residue can linger in one's liver for up to 2 years...medications are "unnatural" and therefore the liver can't clear them out of your body as it would something organic which is why losing the weight takes so much time.
I havebeen taking 12.5 paxil cr and lorapam for 11 months for PTSD due to incest and rape. I am 65 years old. Dr has been reducing lorazapam from 1mg 2x daily to .5mg daily(cut in half and taken 2x daily). When reducing the paxil cr to once every other day for 1 week and then none, after 3 days I am experiencing panic attacks and flashes of lightheadness. They only last a few moments and I wonder if these are typical of paxil cr withdrawal.
has anyone taken paxil and trazodone together? i went from having anxiety attacks to a major depression. i don't know where to turn it's like all they want to do is pump me full of pills and i'm scared of taking any medicine. i know paxil really doesn't work for me but i hope it works for someone else because all of us are different.they said that trazodone will help my mood but in which way? if you have any answers please leet me know thanks!
I have been taking Klonpin for years. 1 three times a day, although I lowered it to two a day. I am also on Lexapro once a day in the morning and a Trazadone at night. I had trouble with my mind racing. I weigh the most now I ever did. Am I over medicated. I would like to quit Lexapro I will talk to my doctor. Which medicine most likely causes weight gain? The Lexapro or the klonopin?
I am currently taking 1 MG of Klonopin every four hours and have cut down from 12 MG over a month period without much trouble. 1 MG is a very small dose and you should be able to taper that in less than one week. You may want to see a psychiatrist about some of those problems you mentioned or even a Neurologist. So far no hair loss on my end, but I do get up-tight when my dose is over an hour or two past due.
The use of anti-psychotic medications began about January 2008, when the patient (who had been taking Effexor, Paxil, and Xanax for mild depression, anxiety and insomnia) had a first-time ever episode of manic-type symptoms: racing thoughts, extreme insomnia, panic, and distorted thinking.
I'm sitting here desperate for answers and insight into my Paxil withdrawals. I started taking Paxil about a year and a half ago. My health care provider started me on 10 mg daily and within a few months I was up to 60 mg daily. Approximately 2 months ago I stopped working and went back to school, resulting in my being uninsured. I have been weining (sp?
I've been on Prozac and Xanax (a benzo), and now Lexapro and Xanax for about 4 years now, and I've had the occasional drink (or 2) with no problems at all. The only thing is that the meds make the alcohol more "effective." That is 1 drink will feel like 2 drinks. So definitely don't binge drink, but a glass of wine or a cocktail here and there is not likely to cause any problems. Excessive alcohol use can definitely cause problems.
