taking paxil with cymbalta

SHe told me to keep taking Paxil for just a week which she perscribed me cymbalta for 30 mg for a week with the paxil then she has me on 60 mg of Cymbalta and she told me to stop taking Paxil when i start taking 60mg. So is she weaning me off the Paxil along with the Cymbalta? And is this safe for a week of taking cymbalta 30mg and Paxil 20mg for a week?

The Valium-Cymbalta combo is safe and is something I used in the past. He's behavioral changes are due to the new norepinephrine reuptake inhibition that he is getting with Cymbalta that he wasn't getting with Paxil. Of course taking 3 Valiums will make most people act like you described as ''He is slurring words, falling over, and just out of it.'' but it's not due to the Cymbalta of at least I really don't think so.

Go see a different psychiatrist. If what you say is true, the one you have needs to have his license revoked. If all these drugs were the same they all wouldn't have been able to get a patent and FDA approval -- you can only do that by proving it's different than what's already on the market.

s probably not a good long term solution to your arthritis pain anyway and it can be very hard to stop taking, as can Paxil. There are other meds you can combine with Cymbalta, perhaps talk your psychiatrist about them.

Everything I have read says this does not treat anxiety. I just started taking Zoloft because it does...so does Paxil, Lexapro and such. Maybe it will work..dunno?

Why are you nervous aout taking it? Is it just because it is a new medicine to you?

So if we put it into words with Cymbalta you are having a serotonin reuptake inhibitor and also an adrenaline ( norepinephrine ) reuptake inhibitor which might explain the stimulating effect and jerking movements.

I am 38 years old and 5weeks prego with #3. I have been taking 30mg of cymbalta for the past two years. I don't see the doctor until January 14. Has anyone taken cymbalta while prego and is it safe???

After seeing my doctor lately, she has decided to take me off my Cymbalta. I've been on it for 3 years with no change in my depression. What I'm wondering about are the withdrawals that I think I've been experiencing. The doctor also has put me on Paxil while weaning me off the Cymbalta. The symptoms I've had are mostly being very shaky; so much so that it's hard to hold a spoon because I'm shaking that badly. Is this normal and will it go away?

I asked my doctor and he says its the antidepressent paxil I am taking, so I am weaning off of it to see if this helps. My hands do tremble slightly and i do get panic attacks and am nervous. As far as the Ativan, in my opinion, many doctors will prescribe a benzo like this especially when starting a med like Zoloft. You are not taking that much, but just talk with your doctor about all you medication concerns; good communication between the paitient and the provider is a must in my opinion.

So I took my first Cymbalta today. Other than Paxil, nothing else has worked for me (Lexapro and Effexor). Anyone have any good experiences with Cymbalta? Just wondering what I'm in for this time... Thanks!!

Hi. I have hand tremors too. I don't remember when they started, but I think they got worse with paxil. I'm off the paxil now and coming off trazadone and still have the tremors. I really think they are related to meds, and I'm not sure if it will even go away when I'm off of all meds (IF I can ever be off of all meds). Good luck.

Hey guys, I plan to start Cymbalta (30mgs) tomorrow morning per my pdoc. I have had some very bad experiences with some of the other SSRI's (Zoloft, paxil, celexa, lexapro) as far as sleep/sexual/cognitive disturbances but I feel like some prescription help may (still) be warranted. I just wanted to see what anyone had to say regarding their experiences with this drug. Thanks!

He says that he has not been enjoying the tablets at all and feel's like he has energy to burn just sitting on a couch. I'm worried he might also be in the first stages of being launched into mania. Does anyone know how close these two are related and if similar side effects could be expected. I noticed Cymbalta is also a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor which worries me.

Both of these are two of the most difficult meds out there, especially when you want to stop taking them. I'd go with ssris first since snris can be very stimulating, or tricyclics, or just try therapy and see if you can do it that way. I don't think either of these will give you tremors, that's usually the mood disorder drugs, but side effects are peculiar to the individual, they don't necessarily go along with the med. What's easy for one is hard for another.

I've been taking Cymbalta 30 mg for 3 weeks and have noticed more frequent bleeding/bruising. Just wondering if anyone else has similar experience? I am not taking any other drugs (including pain killers). Thanks.

It has also been suggested to me to switch from paxil to cymbalta, as cymbalta will help with all the aches and pains more than the paxil. But I am literally TERRIFIED to change meds as I have had such difficult experiences in the past. I do have klonopin that I can take as needed, but I'm so afraid of addiction to another med that I have taken like one in the past two years. I practice lots of meditation, yoga, and other therapeutic practices.

I suggest paxil it works wonders for me i do gain weight though.

says it is more effective in treating pain with depression/anxiety than cymbalta but I cannot take it because it makes me throw up (it is similiar to Effexor and i throw up with Effexor too...despite being on it for months trying to "get used to it"). Good luck!!!

I have tried Paxil, Prozac and Cymbalta. Paxil stopped working. Prozac made me angry. Cymbalta really helped but made my eyes dilate. Zoloft has always helped me in the past so I continue to stay on it. I have been having vision problems but so far they can't find anything wrong with me. That is what is giving me the intense anxiety.

Studies are showing an excellent sucess rate with both Lexapro and Cymbalta and this is why they are on top of my list too and i have success right now with Cymbalta. The only side effect i had was nausea and it went away. I don't feel like a ''zombie''.

I have been living with severe anxiety and depression along with depersonalization for the last 6 months. I just started cymbalta 60mg. Was wondering if anyone thinks this might help with the anxiety and depersonalization feelings?
