taking paxil and klonopin together

I was currently on Leaxpro and just got changed to Paxil and Klonopin. I also take propranolol for my heart twice a day. Is it safe for these medications to be taken together?

i started taking zoloft 100 mg 2 times a day and xanax 1 mg 3 times a day and its making me black to the point i stole something and did not come out of it till i was sitting in a holding sell in hand cuffs what does this mean ?

still taking the bupropion 150 and lamictal 100 but have had to start taking a lot more klonopin because to the rise in anxiety and I don't like taking this.

I like you suffered from only a few anxiety attacks, and my doctor wanted me to be on Paxil. I took it on a Tuesday morning, and felt like i was high for 2 days straight, which made me go to the emergency room because it wsa making me go crazy. i only took a 10mg, tablet. Not to mention, that it was affecting my entire day because i felt so messed up. I will tell you that i honestly can't stand the feeling of being high or (not in control).

After recovering from breast cancer, I was prescribed a series of medications to treat depression and anxiety. I was put on Zoloft at first and then switched a few years ago to 40mg of Paxil along with 25mg of Xanax daily. I still feel anxiety and depression, however, and am afraid these drugs no longer work or that I have become immune to their effects. Should I be expecting the dosages of these medications to change over time? Is it normal to prescribe these drugs together?

I take 12 mg of Klonopin, 150 mg of Trazadone and 40 mg of Paxil a day. Does that seem right?

Hey, my nervousness after taking Paxil peaks about an hour or so later, so I take .25mg Klonopin to calm me down. I've been nervous for the 2.5 weeks I've been on it, but have noticed that first thing when I wake up I am not *as* nervous as previous days, so that's good. I know nervousness is a side effect, but it sucks! But hey, no panic attacks so far, so thank goodness for that. Also, for the record, I took the *whole* 20mg Paxil this morning.

There are many people using this regimen includng myself. I take Wellbutrin and Klonopin. So no need to worry. I hope the Paxil works for you. Take care.

What about maybe asking your doc to forego the SSRIs all together and making the Klonopin a regular, daily dose? You may need a slightly higher dose, since you're already on it. Of course, Klonopin long term can lead to physical dependency and would require a slow, deliberate taper to come off. There are also some issues with tolerance, where you would need an occasional dosage increase to maintain the same level of effectiveness.

That's a tough one. I would recommend the Substance Abuse forum. They are really good about knowing what happens when you come off certain meds and they know about all kids of med mixes. Is he trying to come off the Xanax and Klonopin, too? It sounds like it could be from withdrawing from the meds, but it could also be from the mix. I have no idea.

I take these two meds, why?

He says my iron is still low (like before in Jan.) and has me now taking folic acid and doubled my iron pills. He will not change me from my xanax to klonopin because he says you are gonna get the same tolerance because they are the same drugs. Why can't they understand I want to ween off the xanax and stay on the klonopin for awile then wean off of that. I told him the nurse pract. is trying to get me to take Paxil but I don't want more drugs.

I have done a lot of reading and I am finding out that Klonopin is probably a better choice. I went to the doctor today and he gave me Klonopin and said to start with 2mg in the morning and 2mg in the evening is that too much to start with and should I ween of the Xanax or just stop cold turkey since they are in the same family. Also should I start with a lower dose to make the side effects less? Thanks in advance for your advice.

Anyone on here (Ryan...) having similar issues that can help or try to explain what the heck is going on???? ps: the Paxil is for panic attacks. AND, one more q...what would the affects be if I took my 20mg Paxil, .5mg Klonopin, and 1mg Ativan?

Hello! I have been trying to get off paxil for a few months now and it has been hell. I am down to about 8mgs and have suffered along the way. Recently I have been using Xanax .25 once a day every so many days just to get some relief, but I try to skip days so as not to get dependant on it. Well yesterday was real bad, horrible anxiety and racing thoughts, etc. I could not sleep and finally decided to try the Klonopin wafers the DR gave me (.25). I took one around 1:45am last night.

well it's been almost 6 weeks of 20 mg of paxil, and i *still* have this internal nervousness that sits in my stomach and up my throat. my question is, is the nervousness really anxiety? i take paxil for panic attacks, and haven't had an attack since march, so i know it's working. but i've been taking the klonopin to ease the "nervousness" after taking my paxil. should i be on a diff. medication than paxil?

My psychiatrist is thinking about it for my anxiety, since nothing is working since a terrible and weird and untreated Paxil withdrawal four years ago. And to the poster, she says it's okay to take with klonopin, if that's any help, since I'm on klonopin and asked her about that.

I was taking 0.5 of klonopin and my doctor just switched me from that to 0.

I felt good after 2 weeks and even tried to come down on my Klonopin a couple of days after my paxil ended. Mistake! Just wanting to know if anybody had the same issues and how long do I need to plan on suffering? This is getting old and I'm ready to feel like my old self again. Before the Paxil stopped working!

I took Klonopin alone for two years after quitting Effexor XR. Originally I was given the Klonopin to help with sleep becuase of the insomnia caused by the SSRI. Alone, the Klonopin worked fine. my old Doc said this was fine and was glad that one med was all I needed. He left town and the new Doc hates benzos so I'm taking Celexa and tapering off Klonopin. I am taking neurontin for sleep. If my panic attacks return, I will get a new Doc. I am now on three med instead of one.

ativan and Klonopin. Thanks. I am seeing my pdoc on Nov. 11th and need to talk (again, so frustrating) about my meds. Prior to last week, I was feeling pretty good. I am also in pain management ( arthritis in back) and prescribed 10 mg. oxycodone ( 1 in am and 1 in pm). Please help as I need to know....thanks.

He has never suffered from anxiety before. His shrink upped the Paxil to 20mg and gave him a low dose of xanax (0.25mg and later 0.5mg) to take as needed. He also takes clonozapan as needed, but both these drugs make him fuzzy or put him to sleep, so he can't function/work when he takes them. The past week has been horrendous. He wakes up terrified! Sweating, heart racing, crying, and terrified to leave the house.
