nothing hurt but its just odd and i need a possible answer. i had strep throat as a child and i read that it doesnt re occur in adults.
I have had no symptoms of HSV1 orally or genitally since the encounter. However, today I have what I believe is Tonsillitis (cold like symptoms, fever, sore throat, white spots on tonsils, etc.)
Is it possible that this is an HSV1 outbreak? Searching the internet it indicates tonsillitis is not very common in adults. However, it also seems rare for oral herpes to affect the throat so far after the potential exposure (as most websites indicate this only occurs in the initial outbreak).
But when I googled for the symptoms of the sore throat only some matched like dryness and itchiness. I had no pain in gulping of food but I had lost the taste for food for the entire two weeks. Then came the 4th week which followed a 3days course of medicines and that even mild cough seems to have gone away. Now I am in 5th week of my possible exposure. No or very little cough no fever and no sore throat as I visited the doctor again and she said that my throat has pretty much cleaned up.
5 days after that episode, My lymph nodes swelled in the cervical area on my neck, as well as 5 days after that, my throat is sore. I have no fever, just swollen nodes in neck only, and a slight sore throat. Is it possible that this is ars, or beginning hiv, or is 5 days just too early? The man I was with for 5 minutes, is a married man, heterosexual, not a drug user. I do know he cheats on his wife, but I don't think he is extremely promiscuous.
i also feel vey cold in AC and under the fan too. and i dont feel like fever as the first sign of fever is chills and body ache i have very little of these symptoms. and also the rash which was appeared on calf at around 3 spots still there. Buttock and shoulder rash is not yet gone. I was also detected with eczema a month agao.
Can you please tell me about some tests which can also be conclusive?
Just as an update. My sore throat lasted about 2 weeks before it stopped hurting. The area in my throat was so specific that I think it had to have been an ulcer. I have lost some significant weight (30lbs) because I have developed a very sensitive gag reflex from that area in my throat and swallowing has become kind of disgusting because I can feel the food so well over that area. I did develop some thrush but I was on Amoxicillin for 10 days which can easily bring about thrush.
She started out with sore throat, fever, then the red bumps on the fingers and toes as well as throat and mouth. Lasted for about 5 days.
5-7 days after her bout with what her doctor described as FHAM, I (45yr old male) came down with body aches, pains, soar throat and fever for the first 24 hours. The sore throat is still present with the exact same looking throat as my 6 year old but WORSE !! I also have the red sores on the inside and tops of my fingers.
I think what scared me the most is that I read the majority of people do not get a cold sore at a primary outbreak and that they just get a sore throat, fever, and other similar symptoms. But, I am glad that you said that no one is completely asymptomatic. That is what I was searching for. Like you said "Most people get sick but write it off as something else". I just wanted to make sure that I was not one of those people.
I guess the main thing I was trying to figure out was why I didn't get a cold sore and was the sore throat along with the other things a symptom of herpes. But I see ur saying maybe I was already exposed to it? And the throat issue doesn't sound related correct?

I am really depressed. I had sore throat in the 4th week for 5 days and on the 3rd,4 th and 5th day I had fever as well. From 6 th day I don't have any fever but there is little irritation in throat (roughness) and I am having cough (dry cough). This is for the last 1 week.
I am scared. Are these symptoms of ARS?
my doctor put me on some antibiotics, amozicilin and peniciline at different times and gave me medication for the fever. while the mouths sores and neck pains resolved, the sore throat, ear pains and the fever remains. i feel a burning sensation in the area where the sore is in my throat with radiating pains to the ear on the same side of the throat. i have since stopped smoking and cut down on my alchohol consumption. i feel very sick that i will need your advice to help deal with the problem.
I have been experiencing neck pain below my thyroid on the left side for 2 moths, suddenly the sore neck went into one side of my throat and ear Left side. It gets worse after 5-6 pm and I have to take serious pain meds to get it to calm down. I feel like I have the flu or something But I have no fever and no other symptoms. Covid tests all negative. My doctor put my on a huge dose of augmentin and it’s not helping.
of symptoms mentioned on your page, how sore does the sore throat need to be (can hardly speak and swallow, or just vaguely irritating) and how high does the fever need to be, to be indicative of a possible infection?

Cough and sneeze starting 10 days after, sore throat starting 13 days after but lasting until today (19 days after the incident). Not really painful, but annoying.
symptoms can appear at 3 days as a response to our bodies building antibodies. But like i said if she did not have any sores at the time this risk is quite low. Hsv2 sheds more often than hsv1 but from a one time affair the odds you contracted it are really quite low. I only mention this as an option.

If you were never treated for Scarlet fever you can get long term complications from it like Rheumatic fever or kidney problems. Also, fever, pneumonia, throat abscesses, ear infections and skin infections. Most people don't get the complications but it can happen and that is why they treat this with antibiotics early on. Maybe you can see an infectious disease doctor. Do you have any problems with your kidneys or heart? If not that hopefully you will be okay.
I've developed a cyst during taking abilify after about 12 months and currently experiencing excessive sweating and night sweats , sore throat in the mornings, and fever on occasion.I've recently stopped the medication. The sore throat in the morning has gone away but sweating excessively and night sweating persists it's been a few weeks since I stopped abilify.
If do you it could be a strep throat. IF no fever and no pus but just a red throat it maybe a virus. It should pass in a couple of days if it is a virus. If it dosen't get better then see a doctor and be honest about the oral sex. They can easily do a throat swab for GC and also a culture for strep throat or a rapid strep test and culture. Now i have painfull sore throat and light fever and a rash it might be acne but its too big to called an acne.. its already 26 days post exposure? Am I Infected? Or the symptomps just related another infection? Is it necessary to take hiv test? My exposure was mentioned above.. and thats only my exposure that i had.
