Lyrica and blurred vision

Common Questions and Answers about Lyrica and blurred vision

lyrica

The poker being shot into the knees on both sides is the the problem that I had when I started the Lyrica and I haven't taken lyrica since Oct. 08, the pain is still with me. As far as the other side effects, I had blurred vision, forgetting things a lot, especially when I read my bible. I would read one sentence and forget what I read that quickly.
Lyrica did give me blurred vision and extra paranoia at the start, and that was indeed awful for the first couple weeks as I upped my dosage! After the initial troubles, I found that it really was better than gabapentin for me now. I have not gained weight, but remain the same weight I call my meds weight. I just try to remain active and not pig out. I used to be very thin, so now I am just sturdy looking, neither fat nor thin.
I had double vision two months ago, 3 episodes of blurred vision with low vision, and eye achiness. I'm not myself and frightened. One optho doc (from out of town) said go to ER immediately if it happens and the opthomalogist here thought it wasn't necessary. Any input? Thanks so much.
In order to try and deal with side effects while still gaining some benefit I've recently been cycling on and then off of lyrica. If you have pain which is neuropathic - and a lot of chronic pain sufferers are in this camp - then a trial of lyrica is worth it, so long as you and your doctor pay heed to any warning signs. If you can cope on it then it beats using strong opiates with all of the restrictive practices and general hassle of S8 medications. All the best.
It did help with the pain but I am tried of the weight gain and swelling of my legs, feet and hands and the blurred vision and the worst thing was the sweats! I hope this helps someone - because I really think I am dying sometimes it has been 3 weeks - I will never take these drugs again!
others have had great success with lyrica when they reach the right dose..and maybe i coulda..but i gotta work and lyrica wasnt really a choice for me if it would take a mth or more to adjust//and again many do not have these side effects...so i am back on neurontin and here i will stay lyrica is not recommended for anyone with addiction tendencies...i didnt like it so never saw a potentil for abuse..my friend has a filed day with the stuff tho...
I have had stomach cramps, sweat running down me, chills, clamy, shortness of breath, blurred vision, lack of concentration and an overall feeling of crap. I missed work today and might be home tomorrow also until it is out of my system. I hope I never feel this bad again. I have had a deep tissue massage before but it has been a long time. I just made a call today to set up an appointment for another one.
I was taking Lyrica for about 3 days when I started having adverse reactions including fever of 101, blurred vision, blisters, speech problems, tiredness, and shakes. I stopped and was treated with an antibiotic after visiting the emergency room. There is one problem, days after I could see this black spot in the upper right side of my vision and it hasn't gone away. I also feel a soreness in that eye. Ever heard of Lyrica doing this to someone?
It helps me with when I get really ache. Lyrica has way too many side affects not the least of which is weight gain. But I had such blurred vision I had to stop taking it immediately. Neurontin causes weight gain, hair loss, behavior issues. But it is a little better than Lyrica in my opinion. I've also found getting in the water, a warm pool where I can exercise a few times per week helps alot.
i'm on lyrica and was on septra for two weeks. i've been on lyrica since april/May. i also have diabetes type 2 and take glyburide and metroformin. i was at the opthamalogists last week for an annual check up and she said i may have narrow angle acute 'cause of the septra. i have blurred vision ..especially close up reading off of the monitor and reading books. i wear bifocal glasses and she said i could get a pair just for reading and the monitor. i smoke also. she booked an appt.
after 5 doses the last time I had vertical double vision, jerking and twitching and I couldn't speak at all...I called the pharmacist and he said to stop it right away and call the dr. on Monday...that was with the bonehead... This time I started at 75mg/dayX1week then 150mg/X1week now on 300mg/day and I don't feel well but I feel as though I have been thrown to the lions...the pain is unbelievable and if feels like it did in Oct. 2006! Now my doc has flown off to Mexico for two weeks...
I have very good vision other than needing glasses. I had been taking Lyrica for about 3 weeks. Gained about 7 pounds and noticed my vision was extremely blurred. I was in shock to find out it was from Lyrica. I stopped it immediately.
There are many causes of blurred vision and only an eye exam by an Eye MD ophthalmologist can tell the cause. Ask your family MD or Rheumatologist to set up a consult with an Eye MD as soon as possible. If you have been treated in the past with steroids/prednisone cataracts are high on the list of causes plus RA can get in the eye (uveitis/iritis). TAKE ACTION NOW. You can also find an eye MD near you at www.geteyesmart.
The first time i ever took Lyrica i had 300mg as it was given to me by a colleague to see if it helped with my back pain - it gave me so much pain relief after only about an hour but i did experiance the dizziness and blurred vision. What i noticed however was that my nausea had dissapeared, this made me so happy as feeling sick all the time was really starting to take a toll on my daily life.
However, it has been 10 days and my vision seems blurred in my left eye, mild haloing in bright light, and generally feels like it is not right (though there is no change in apparent color saturation, peripheral vision, or general central vision, though distance may be diminished). The eye is mildly sore at times when I shut it (like the sensation when exposed to chopped raw onions) but this subsides quickly. There is also a mild headache sensation around the orbit.
My legs feel like they are 100 lbs each in the mornings and my joints are very sore. I have to sit alot and do homework (Im in school full time) I got of the drug lyrica about a two weeks ago. It made me swelled in my legs, and feet. I did have ex-rays last week to see how much my arthritis has affected my joints. (base-line) but I had to ask for it. They havent called yet to tell me the results.

For me Lyrica casued depression, anxiety, blurred vision and confusion. Cymbalta caused anxiety, jitters and mood swings. I have recently stopped Cymbalta 4 days ago and am still having the withdrawal symptoms. Both of these drugs effect the brains ability to receive pain signals which means they are effecting chemicals in the brain and that is something you dont want. Getting off both of these drugs was the hardest thing I have ever had to do.

since that day I've been deeling with migrain headaches that have steadily gotten worse sometimes leading to black outs, dizzy spells, nausea with vomiting and spray from my tear ducts, blurred vision in my left eye and loss of focus abuility in the left eye, increase in nightly urination, nasal stoppage and pain in left side of nasal cavity.
I still have the pain but its not as bad as it was before i started the lyrica. I would titrate up to maybe 100mg see if things even out the blurred vision and tremor goes away if everything is ok on 100mg why do you have to increase the dosage? In my opionion what dosage works for you should be where you stop at this way if symptoms come back in a few months you can go up again .
These, oddly enough, come and go, I can for weeks without them, but when I get them, I get them bad. -periods of blurred vision, comes with unpleasant feeling in head, hard to focus, gets worse as the feeling in my head gets worse. Not as bad when wired. -Stomach hurts unless I keep it sucked in, all day, everyday. If I relax it, it hurts. -Periodic Throat Pain, not sore throat. This will last about a day and happen once a months or so. -Whole body doesn’t feel good, all day, everyday.
I went to the emergencey room twice because the tingling got so bad and I started getting blurred vision and confused. This could be a side effect of muscle relaxors that I was on and later found out I was allergic two ( the blurred vision). I don't know if this has anything to do with MS, but I also always have to go to the bathroom, I even wake up at night to go.
I was prescribed Topamax along with an appetite suppressant (Adipex) for weight loss a bit over a year ago and stopped taking them after two and a half months. I did not lose all of the weight I had wanted to, but most of it. I had gained 55 pounds while on Paxil over the course of two and a half years. By taking a combination of the two medicines, I lost 22 pounds the first month, 10 pounds the second month, and 8 pounds the first half of the third month.
Since I started to wean off until now, my vision has been blurred, grainy and large print seems to shake. Others have said it is part of the withdrawals. Just want to know how does the Vicodin cause this? It is the eyes, the central nervous system, the brain? Also, how long until it starts to subside?
I've been taking 500mg metformin myself and I have not experienced any weight loss. I am actually taking it for diabetes treatment. But it has not helped with my weight loss.
The pain has progressively worsened and i am at the point where i have been unable to work for 3 weeks and counting. i have experienced slight photophobia with the headache, blurred vision, nausea and generalised weakness. I was recently hospitalised for tests including an MRI (result normal) Visual fields test (result normal) Lumbar puncture (unable to aspirate fluid for testing) and an OTC (shows blurred optical discs.
