The common side effects of neurontin are blurred vision, dizziness, and muscle ache, swelling of hands, feet, or lower legs, trembling and unusual tiredness. Lyrica is also known to cause general weakness, lethargy, blurred vision, ascites, facial edema, generalized edema etc. You must consult your neurologist to change your medications since both of these can cause swelling and you have swelling in both the legs.
While I was undiagnosed, I was on Neurontin for a couple of months and then tried Lyrica. I do think Lyrica relieved more pain, but it did cause me more side effects and in the end, I was not happy with the balance of relief vs. complications.
Lyrica made me feel more dizzy and confused. For example, I would take my dose, and within minutes I wouldn't remember if I had taken it yet or not. That made me uncomfortable.
I have had 3 episodes of extreme blurriness in my right eye. One last Sat. out of town and an opthomalogist said he was 99% sure it was vascular spasm and I should see a neurologist asap. He also said I had a 2% chance of having a stroke in the next few weeks. I saw a neuro, he has ordered some MRIs, and a VEP? The Opthomalogist I see here at home had never heard of vascular spasm and thought tests were a waste of time. My family doc is new to me and doesn't have an opinion.
Since I started to wean off until now, my vision has been blurred, grainy and large print seems to shake. Others have said it is part of the withdrawals. Just want to know how does the Vicodin cause this? It is the eyes, the central nervous system, the brain? Also, how long until it starts to subside?
This was an excellent choice, as it helps with my anxiety, I use less clonazepam and I feel less drowsy. Lyrica did give me blurred vision and extra paranoia at the start, and that was indeed awful for the first couple weeks as I upped my dosage! After the initial troubles, I found that it really was better than gabapentin for me now. I have not gained weight, but remain the same weight I call my meds weight. I just try to remain active and not pig out.
My Dr and I discussed putting me on Lyrica (which I was on a few years ago, but stopped taking, don't recall why) and I called my pharmacist because she told me about the huge side effect of weight gain with Lyrica, it's almost guaranteed, and my pharmacist told me that Lyrica is a dirivative of Neurontin, which has a much lower incidence of weight gain, and they are nearly the same medications. I then decided to go on Neurontin instead.
I have headaches that last weekd at a time and are at 8+ on the pain scale, nausea all the time, dizziness, feeling numb and weak in the right side of my body even though the left side is significantly weaker, confusion and inability to recognise simple words, blurred vision in one eye, and feeling like my body is trembling on the inside especially on one side.
It did actually relieve a little of my joint pain, but I still had other numerous problems, blurred vision, migraines, IBS, pins and needles, and chronic fatigue. Then an LLMD diagnosed me via IGENIX and CD 57 test and I have Lymes. So I can't really say the medicine gave me those problems because LYMES does too. All I can say is that it may make you a little nauseous in the beginning and to get regular eye exams (mine were normal). Good luck!
You definitely need to talk to your doctor. Blurred vision is not a side effect I'm aware of, but that doesn't mean that isn't what it is.
It could also be a symptom of anxiety. There are two common symptoms of anxiety called "depersonalization" and "derealization" that can cause the impression of having blurred vision. You can do some searching here about those symptoms, to see if maybe that is a possibility.
Other than my glasses prescription there isnt anything wrong with my eyes that cause my blurred and double vision and visual snow....
I have nystagmus ( eyes jiggle when I look far left and right lol) but other to that I have no proper answer. The ns I seen and docs think my vision all down to migrains but who hasnt heard that right?
Blurred vision and lightening type floaters that appeared and also one time recently in boat it appeared as if the floor of the boat and walls of the boat were moving. It looked like moving mud. I have gone to eye dr and basically said I need reading glasses.
I also then went to dr for 3 dizzy spells and basically said it was vertigo but heard a carotid bruit and sent me for ultrasound which in turn was normal.
t handle the therapy and work in same day. Then 29 days later (while working part time and going to vision therapy) the blurred vision came back and lasted a little less than 2 wks. Been out of work since then and plan to go back after the therapy is done. Nobody has ever heard of this kind of severe eye strain. I'm doing everything I can but I have no real answers and I'm scared of loosing my job. Help.
I had cataract surgery on jan. 21, and since then i had this terrible glare and i feel that i have to wear dark glasses even at home. I told my doctor , he evaded my concern and repeated that all is well in my eye, the lens placement is perfect and the incision is healing . I felt like an idiot and thought that my problem must be psycological. this morning God sent me to this forum to discover that i am not crazy .
before pregnancy I had great vision and now it's hard to focus on anything without it being blurry. Will my vision go back to normal after baby?
However I still have confusion because when the nurse called to schedule my left eye this Thursday and I expressed my concerns she said many people said their first eye never got better till they did the second one because of the eyes trying to compensate for each other. My vision is now 20/20 after surgery and 20/40 in the one without. How have people managed their sight in the past?
