I had my right ovary, fallopian tube, endometriosis and adhesions removed on Dec. 20th. by laparotomy. I have a lump about an 1" above my incision. It gets big and then small with some pain, I was just wondering is this normal. Also I am having pain in my right side now while I am having my period, it that normal. Any help would be appreciated. This discussion is related to swollen abdomen after laparotomy for giant cyst.
I am 41 with a strong family history of cancer. My mother had breast AND kidney cancer, and I recently lost my father to metastatic colorectal cancer. That being said, after having pain in the area of my left ovary, an ultasound found that I have "something" growing on my left ovary. A repeat ultrasound showed that it is growing, and I was giving the choice to leave it and "watch it" or have it removed. I did have a CA-125 blood test, which was "normal".
For sometime now ive had this lump on my lower right side of my stomach, just above my vagina and a little in from my hip bone.It has not been painful. Sometimes i experience sharps pains up my upper right side. Its not a soft lump, its rather hard..kind of like a muscle feeling? If that makes sense. When I stand up and look down the right side of my lower tummy is a little higher then my left.
i have a painful lump in my stomach, but my gp isnt really doing anything.? all she did was a blood test for an eptopic pregnancy and thats negative so what could it be?
Was suppose to have been having a laparoscopy to remove my left ovary and large cyst within this along with treatment for endemetriosis, woke up to have had a laparotomy and the latter all done plus part of the fallopian tube with it. It is now three weeks since the op and I can at least move around more, no longer doing an impression of a ladybird on its back trying to get up...
In 2006, I was diagnosed with fibroadenoma in my left breast. The doctor decided to remove it ..A year after that, I got 8 cm ovarian cyst on my right ovary. The doctor put me on birth control and I am still taking them. On October 2008, I had a small lump in my left breast and it was painful to touch. I had an ultrasound done but they could not see it with ultrasound; however, they could feel it with touch.

Hi. Since April I have had pain above my left breast. It's not constantly there, but it comes and goes. Sometimes it feels like a burning pain, other times it feels like a cramp. I've also felt it in my armpit at times and it will also creep up over my shoulder. Although I VERY RARELY feel it on the right side, it DOES happen once in awhile. But for the most part it's been my left side.
I found a hard pea-sized unmovable lump in my left breast about 1 inch from my nipple. I found it about a month and a half ago. It has not changed and I have no pain. The skin over it is slightly darkened (meaning you wouldn't notice it unless you were looking for it) and if I stretch the skin the lump is visible. My paternal grandmother,81, was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer 2 months ago. My maternal grandmother had her leg amputated about 12 years ago due to cancer in her foot.
I am 28 years old. At 25 I discovered a lump in my groin area very similar to a hernia except it only showed up during ovulation, middle of cycle. I have seen many doctors who cannot diagnose it. It is 1 inch above pubic bone, 2 inches away from crease in leg.It shows up on left side only, sometimes back to back months but occasionally skipping a month. Due to the fact that this was unable to be diagnosed I tried to get pregnant.
I don't understand the mammogram was neg, yet there was a lump. hmmm, just me. postivie for a lump, yet negative. weird. My Mom had BR CA at 39 . I'm scared of cancer. I have a pretty tender area on my breast I noticed the other day....and I'm concerned, but they say not to worry as painful areas are not to be too concerned about. I'm gonna wait a bit and see what happens. I wish I knew what kinfd of cancer my aunt had, I have a non speaking family!
Is it normal to have a dull pain in your abdominal area just above your bladder? I have also, noticed a small pea sized lump in my vaginal wall. I had gone to the doc to see if the pain was a uti (I have a history of kidney stones that caused an infection so I try to stay on top of that) but he said, there were leukocytes but no bacteria or blood. I am still in pain though and noticed this lump after my appointment.
I had endometrial polyp being removed on last year, November and thereafter no more red spotting appear. At present, I have two ovary cysts - right ovary cysts measurement at L 3.0 x W 2.6 x T 1.7 cm (cyst of up to 1.0 cm demonstrated) and left ovary cysts measurement at L 3.2 x W 1.8 x T 0.9 cm(cyst appears normal). Uterine fibroids appears globular and heterogenous, 2 hypoechoic nodules seen:- 1) 1.4 x 1.1 x 0.8 cm fibroid - A out wall 2) 0.6 x 0.5 cm fibroid - mid out wall.
this revealed it is a complex cyst (having both solid and liquid parts) between my uterus and left ovary with possible impeding of the ovary - it just looked like the ovary itself was enlarged on the initial ultrasound. but really that is all they know until i see the gyno - which i am scheduled for August 29th. he will probably examine me, check out my ultrasound results and schedule me for a laparoscopy (according to my doctor) to get it out of there and determine what it is.
but i m now very worried because my right ovary has also removed along with the cyst.. now i hav only left ovary.. im married and has no child till yet... i m very worried tht whether i will concieve pregnency along with one ovary ?can anyone tell me...plz...
After I had finished reading the other post, I decided that I had held this long enough, when I took the cloth from the lump I noticed that there was a lot of brown puss coming from the lump. I am so glad that I found this site and that you all have had the same problem, being that I don't have any insurance I haven't been to the doctor for this. Now I am wondering how long it will be before the lump is completely gone since the puss has begun. Please help me.
well i talked with my family doctor after these huge clots just kept coming and she sent me to have a ultra sound down. they found a 7 cm cyst on my right ovary.. went right to the ob-which he was so nice and ran a cancer blood test that day b/c cyst wasnt clear looking. a week later it came back 15 points above normal... he couldnt belivie i wasnt in there months ago with huge amounts of pain, any normal person would have been dieing..
Hi everyone, I have a 3 inch width length and 1 inch height length lump in my lower right stomach. It is very tender and seems to be getting more painful and bigger as the days go on. I have seen two doctors, one of them thought it could be a cyst the other a lipoma. Both of them do not believe it is cancer.

My question is, is the left ovary located in the front, with the sigmoid colon running behind it, or is the left ovary and sigmoid colon side by side or is the left ovary located behind the sigmoid colon? The reason for this is because I can feel a lump in my lower left side, right where I think my left ovary is located, however, know that the sigmoid colon is located in this same area and so I'm trying to determine whether the lump is caused by my ovary or by my colon?
i have felt this for a little over a month now....im wondering if its my right ovary? its right above the pubic bone. and if so could this be because ive been bleeding for a month now? Im really freaking out! thinking all kinds of scary thoughts now!!!! also...when i had the transvaginal Nov 18th wouldnt they have "looked" at my right ovary too?? the doc knew the cyst was on the left so im worried they didnt even look at the right ovary! Uterus good, left ovary good, right ovary good. I didn't go under an echo graph. *My question is - could it be ovary cyst? what do you think could it be? I was watching photos of anatomy but couldn't figure out what other organs are there. From what I wrote do you think I have any reason for concern?
I still have alot of nausea and in alot of pain (sharp, and aching ones along with cramping). I have a lump above the hairline below my bellybutton in the shape of a miniture hotdog.(previously it felt like a jelly bean) It is half inch wide and two inches long. What can that be. It is by the skin area so it is easy to feel and you have to do it gently because when you push down on it goes away. I guess what my question is, could my ovary move around and not be seened by the u/s's?
I have a lump in my abdomen and I also have a cyst that my doctor saw on ultrasound in his office. he did not touch my abdomen. I am waiting for a formal ultrasound and now I have a lump above my pelvic bone. I am just wondering if that is what you mean by he could " feel a lump?" I am very thin and I think that has something to do with why I can feel mine. Are they removing your cyst because of the size? Good luck with that. Thank you for your time.
I am about 3 months post op and my incision looks great despite an odd lump just above it on the left side. My ob/gyn said it looks normal. About 3 weeks ago I was diagnosed with a functional cyst on my right ovary (the only one) I was having some pains so they did an u/s and spotted a 4 cm cyst. I went back in a week ago and thankfully it is absorbing itself and was down to 2 cm. I was told my pain was not from that, I shouldn't be able to feel pain from a 2cm cyst.
i have a really sharp pain on my right side above my hip .... what is the pain caused by?
Alot of you are aware since I've been posting that I had a LAP done on October 28th and the released my ovary from my uterus, removed another cyst on my right ovary and removed ahesions. I am just getting over my period (I think) since I've been bleeding since the surgery and the past few days my appetite has decreased, every time I eat I get sick and today my right side is hurting (twinges of sharp pains) actually to where my fiance was like "do you want to call the doctor" ??
Some background… Approximately a month ago, I noticed a defined, round, movable lump above my left collarbone near my neck, around ¾ to 1” in diameter. I could not find any other lumps or swollen lymph nodes. I also was experiencing a cough that had lingered for about 1 ½ months. (I have experienced this cough in the late summer months for at least the last 6 years and it always goes away.) I went to my family doctor who sent me for a CT scan of the chest with contrast.
