Two weeks ago when I was admitted to the hospital they did another IVP, ultra sound, and CT Scan which all showed blood clots in my left kidney. My left Kidney had renal failure. They still are unable to find where the bleeding is coming from. They sent me home after a weeek with pain pills and Amicar Syrup (aminocaproic acid ) to try and stop the bleeding and disolve the clots. After two weeks they are going to see if the clots are disolved.
today i woke up with sever pain in the lower side near my back on both sides, my urine is bright red, and while straining for stones( none yet) i found blood clots ( apox 5mm x 3mm) the morphine is not controlling the pain anymore, and im not due to go in for stent removal and lithro again until the 21st, is what im experiencing the passing of a stone or should i go be seen again by the ER ( my uroligist is 2 hrs away and my GP is not im until wed, so that is my only option.
I got a ct scan last week, showing 3 in my left kidney and 2 in my right. i'm now passing little blood clots (no obvious blood in the urine), and what looks like tissue. could that be from the stone moving? i can't go to the hospital cause then it's a pre-existing condition and my insurance won't cover it...
A detailed analysis of the history, the medical history of the patient and details about whether the patient is experiencing pain while urinating, the shape and the size of the blood clots, and time pattern or at what time during urination the clots appear are all helpful. The diagnostic tests that may be carried out are blood test, urinalysis, urine culture, ultrasound of the abdomen and renal tract.
I had a CT scan in October (which detected kidney stones) I have had two u/s - one in April and one in July to check for stones. (Stones were the only thing seen). I have had two flat panel x-rays (June/July) prior to each lithotripsy to locate stones. (Stones were the only thing seen). All other tests from my physical are normal. I have an appointment with my PCP next week. I am going to mention endometriosis.
Other causes of blood in the urine are urolithiasis (bladder stones), kidney stones, bladder cancer, or kidney disease, bleeding disorders and others. It is best to take her the vet first thing tomorrow for a urinalysis, X-Ray of the abdomen, and complete blood work. If she has bladder stones thay would have to be surgically removed. Bladder cancer is sometimes visible on abdominal X-Ray, or ultrasound, and is of course serious.
Blood was noted for about 60 - 90 minutes after initial blood seen. After this time, no blood visible and no further discomfort. Is this a kidney/bladder stone? ( Five years ago I had severe cervical dysplasia which was CIS when treated, and also had a complete hysterectomy with salpingo/orphtectomy due to an ovarian mullerian mucinous tumor of borderline malignancy) I always thought if you had a kidney stone the pain was extreme and the pain was not of a short duration.
The original stone was solid and looked like real stones; brown/beige, the new ones are redish/yelowish and made up of grains stuck together, they pass either as one stone or fragmented pieces. Have been doing regular kidney function and urine analysis tests; the thing that is worrying me is the existence of protein in the urine (30mg/dl after fasting/morning) for the past couple of months (was 100mg/dl one month prior to Cipro.), other than this all other aspects are within range.

I guess l just keep drinking heaps etc and avoid any other stones forming.......???Y do people Dr's take such a casual view to kidney stones when renal colic is so painful and for some soooo chronic.
I laid down for awhile and the cramping started up again, went to the bathroom and started passing large blood clots. This continued for about an hour, dark, mucus, blood clots. I went to the hospital as I was out of town. They received a sample and said I needed to my doc at home. I did so. The Doc did a scope, she saw a few ? said their was nothing to worry about and had me taking fiber, which did nothing, except bloat me. Life goes on.
Lab tests showed it was a uric acid stone. I had to have a catheter put in because the blood clots had blocked things up. And I had to return to the ER the next day because the catheter was even blocked up. So now the catheter is out, the stent is out, and I'm just left with figuring out how to pay for it all. I'm taking potassium Citrate for the rest of my life to keep them from coming back.
but then again, im not convinced with the diagnosis. and he couldnt explain clearly where the blood and the blood clots come from. last week, it happened again. . i was getting excited and went with the flow of the moment. i dry humped my partner as foreplay. seriously, i didnt think all of this happened because of dry humping, so i repeated it. but then again, it always comes out after doing it. is it coincidence? now, im trying to figure out where it comes from? the prostate? how? why?

Hi there, There are many causes of cramps in calf muscles like dehdyration, electrolyte imbalances of sodium, potassium, magnesium, and calcium all can cause calf cramps. Heart medications and blood pressure medications can also cause drop in potassium levels and cramps. Electrolyte imbalances in diseases like diabetes, kidney disease, hypothyroidism, and Addison's disease all can cause calf cramps. Drink plenty of water and avoid dehydration. You should see a doctor and get evaluated.
no back pain, no flank pain, no sharp/stabbing pain. Have been passing visible bright red blood in urine, and some clots for the past week, and now having some blood that is leaking out w/o having to urinate. I have never had a kidney stone before, but have seen people that have and they seem to be in severe (10 out of 10) pain. I definitely hurt, but more uncomfortable than severe pain. Does this sound like a possible kidney stone?? Or any other ideas of what it might be??

The stent in his urinary system is very uncomfortable along with passing blood and sometimes even clots. The urologist has mentioned the possibillity of a lazar procedure but he is still asking that my husband get off the plavix for a week prior to the surgery. We are looking for any ideas to get rid of this kidney stone.
I found out recently that I have kidney stones and gall stones, but was also told that a mass was found on my liver that appears to be non cancerous with blood clots like tumors. Please give me some insite on this information concering my liver. I would like to know what may have caused this issue and what steps need to be taken to help the matter. There's no pain or complication suffered with any of my problems I feel fine.
If it's too small and/or if it's uric acid .. I do believe uric acid stones are transparent ?
I do not want the blasting, it can cause blood clots and bruising to the kidney and research says it only about 30% successful......... Perhaps I did not phrase that question right!
Sure enough, the next time I had sex I actually ejaculated a mix of sperm blood. I went to the doctor and they thought I had kidney stones (I had lower back pain also). I had an CT Scan and nothing showed up irregular and no stones. I was told that the Doctor wanted to do a cytoscopy, but I never went back because the appointment was set for three weeks later and the problem seemed to resolve itself. Now here I am 3 months later and I have the same problems occuring.
when it first occurred i thought that i might have kidney stones and did not associate the passing of blood with masterbation but now i see that the two are linked. needless to say, i do not indulge in masterbation now but i would like to know the cause of these symptoms. please treat this question seriously as i am worried about my health. thank you in anticipation.
It is now almost 2 1/2 years since the surgery and for the last 5 months I have been having blood in my urine, kidney and back pain on a regular basis. The pain comes and goes, some days nothing, some days it feels like a stone is getting ready to pass. The blood in the urine is my biggest concern. In the beginning it was once every couple of weeks, now it's everyday. Could this possibly be damage from the surgeries or stent usage for several months?
Hello, In absence of any UTI, other causes which may cause urinary retention are urethral syndrome, any blockage in the flow of urine like any scar tissue, injury (as in a car wreck or bad fall), blood clots, infection, tumors in the pelvic region, and stones, infection or due to disruption of the delicate and complex system of nerves that connects the urinary tract with the brain and the nervous system.
You have a history of recurrent UTI’s and kidney stones; so burning sensation during micturition and blood in the urine. It can also be due to dislodgement of the kidney stone in the bladder or urethra. Kidney stones and recurrent UTI’s can lead to Pyelonephritis, Cystitis, Urethritis Glomerulonephritis and Urethral ulceration.
I'm a 25 year old male, with a several year history of kidney stones. They don't know why I produce them, but they drop/pass every week, sometimes more often than this. Since they've not been able to figure it out they just treat the pain. However, the stones aren't my question.
I am also prescribed 20mg of Lasik daily for water retention (which by the way is not working as well lately) My husband knows someone who had kidney stones and thinks that might be what's wrong with me. But every time I decide to make an appointment with the doctor the blood in the urine stops for the day - but then comes back again within 1-3 days later. Why do I wait??? Because I am starting to feel like a hypochondriac.
