Common Questions and Answers about Ideal weight range calculator

weight

Avatar n tn Hello, I am a 29 year old female, 5'4 and 131 pounds. I recently lost over 100 pounds in the course of a year through diet and exercise. (starting weight 244 in September of 2010). I have always been overweight, and now have a lot of excess skin, which is to be expected. My question is about my ideal weight. My goal started at 150 pounds, then 140, then 130, now I'm thinking my ideal would be 120.
Avatar f tn If you google BMI calculator, you will find any number of programs that will let you enter your height and weight, and they give you your BMI. The ideal range for BMI is considered to be 20 to 25, and your BMI is right about in the middle of that range. No need to worry. Just eat healthy foods and get a healthy amount of exercise, and you will stay in the same weight range that you are now. If you grow in height, you will naturally gain weight, but it will be proportional.
Avatar f tn Hi there and thanks so much for posting this question I would suggest that at your age you are careful with changes in your metabolism. What is metabolism? Metabolism is a collection of chemical reactions that takes place in the body's cells. Metabolism converts the fuel in the food we eat into the energy needed to power everything we do, from moving to thinking to growing. If you want to lose weight The safest amount of weight you can lose is anything from .5 to 2 lbs a week.
1676558 tn?1305460105 BMI calculator says I should loose more weight than I planned. I'm 5'9, 198 lbs and I want to get to 170. At 170 the online BMI calculator says I will still beconsidered overweight. Not sure I want to loose that much weight. any advice?
Avatar f tn First, it should be noted that based on 147 lbs and 5 ft 5 inches tall, your weight and BMI fall within the normal category. Per the calculator, your ideal body weight range is 111.17 to 150.23 and current BMI was calculated at 24.46. From the history you have provided, in my humble opinion, I believe your body may be in starvation mode. This is when your caloric intake is not sufficient to maintain your weight based on the level of energy you are expending.
Avatar f tn The key is percentage of body fat, not weight, as muscle is heavier than fat.
10389360 tn?1410823968 That's for ideal doctor weight, seriously I weight 170 and now I'm sure over 175 cause I haven't been back to Dr but that was my weight last appt. When I wasnt pregnant I was 163 and my bmi was considered overweight. According to bmi and weight I should be 140 pounds. I'm sorry but if I was 140 pounds I would look way to skinny and boney. Even the Dr told me that!! So don't go by that.
479244 tn?1271563659 Does anyone know anything about the IDEAL study? This is where I think the info came from regarding my original decision to go with the pegintron.... less relapse rate, less sides, stays in system shorter amt. of time when you come off , etc. My new nurse, said that study had a lot of flaws and she did not put a lot of faith in it and talked me into pegysus... any comments would be appreciated.
Avatar n tn Anyone know a good way to gain weight? I'm not sick, I just have a high metabolism. I'm 5'4" and I weigh 102. Yeah, I know, what am I complaining for? It's not all it's cracked up to be... I don't weigh enough, and I feel like I eat all the time....
Avatar f tn On my phone I have a weight calculator right through this app.
Avatar f tn BMI is a useful way to determine a healthy weight. You can find a BMI calculator and other tools for determining a healthy weight on the CDC or NIH web sits. But healthy weight is only part of recovery, as I'm sure you know. I hope you're working on the other aspects, from good nutrition to the mental side of EDs and monitoring for anorexia sequalae.
Avatar f tn with me starting at 180 I gained 14 pounds which brought me up to 194 then I lost three bring my weight back to 191 then i lost another pound in two weeks putting me at 190 last appointment hence total weight changing from 14 pounds to 11 pounds then to ten if u gain from last weight in it adds that but if u loss it subtracts the difference from last weigh in giving you I new total weight Gian.
Avatar m tn I nned to gain weight.though I am within normal range (BMI CALCULATOR) i still love to gain say 25lb.
Avatar n tn Your ideal weight depends on your age, as well as your height and weight. A child's ideal weight will be different from that of a teenager and a teenager will be different from that of an adult. There are a variety of exercises that will burn fat.
676912 tn?1332812551 I posted a question not that long ago about not gaining weight. I'm starting week 18 today and I still have not gained a single pound. I'm not complaining about it too much since I am a little overweight to begin with, but my concern is the baby...is it ok for her for me to have not gained weight? Is she gaining as she should be even if I haven't gained weight?
Avatar f tn In addition As I answered in a previous thread the way of finding out if you have an ideal weight you need to follow using Hamwi formula, a simple formula commonly used by many clinicians. These are recommended weights. Talk with your doctor about what weight is best for you and before undertaking any new diet or exercise programs. You can learn more about BMI and see what it is for your current weight by checking out our Body Mass calculator. http://www.healthstatus.
Avatar f tn Given your height of 5'4", a body weight of about 146 lb. would give you a BMI of about 25, which would put you at the top of the range of what is generally considered an appropriate weight.
915259 tn?1243136237 Sweetie, Your weight is fine. Why do you feel you need to lose 20 lbs. Check the body fat calculator in this site and see what % you come out at. If you are 20% or slightly less that is perfect. BMI is not what you want to look at nor is the fashionable weight or clothing size.
Avatar f tn If you use a online bmi calculator you can scientifically see what your weight range is, but I'm 167 and 67kg and I'm considered average/slim so you would be quite skinny.
Avatar f tn I am 23 weeks now and am at 172. The calculator stated I was over weight to begin with. Is the Calculator right? What is normal?
Avatar m tn please my bmi , the calculator below says i am underwight and i need to gain weight, my weight is 60kg and height is 1.9m,,,https://y2calculate.
