299260 tn?1304219705 ) Sbumblebeeo: Thanks! :) I know, I have so many pics I want to upload but my computer is being a brat! ;) Wow, i'm so sorry about all the drama, that's just horrible! :( I completely agree with how you feel, I don't blame you one bit! I hope things get better, especially for Shelby's sake!
Avatar f tn I know there are several people here who can't seem to put weight on. I stay sick to my stomach a lot, also. I would think that would make me lose weight. I don't know. I am starting to get very concerned about it. That is probably one of the last things for me to be "worried" about, but I have a fear of being overweight like my mother and sister. I want to be as healthy as I can at the time. Thanks y'all for your support.
Avatar n tn I have digenerative disc disease and my neirologist just prescribed topamax, he said it would help with the pain and tingling but could result in weight loss. I am wondering if prescribing topamax for ddd is common among neurologists? I can't seem to find any other information related to topamax as a pain med, only information I have is that it's a powerful drug with lots of side effects, most not so good. The weight loss aspect is the only plus...
619345 tn?1310345021 Given the emerging good news about the insulin sensitizer Metformin aiding in response (especially in women who need to lose weight) I would seriously look at your bloodwork again and read the report concerning Metformin that was posted on the other forum. I've dropped 40 lb. in the last 6months (230 down to 190) since starting to take Metformin ER, my fasting glucose has normalized (after being 'borderline for years, and I feel great. Something to at least discuss with your doctor.
Avatar n tn These are not all that difficult to diagnose, but may not be on the mind of an internist who may just think women gain weight from emotional stuff (ie, eating to calm feelings a la Oprah). Another thing to check is medication side effects. I'm not certain about weight gain, but a pregnant looking belly can be from uterine fibroids. A big belly from fluid trapped like in one post is often from liver problem and can be very serious.
97615 tn?1212682189 My SIL was really sick in the beginning and lost 15+ lbs in her first trimester. Well, she did gain her weight back by the 2nd but hasnt put any on in addition. We are due 3 days apart and our family wont stop comparing us. my dh is great, he says who cares about her. but my mil has been calling me to remind me that she has gained "no" weight and I have gained 30 lbs already. I dont feel bad until I am around my sil and my mil. Then I feel guilty even being hungry.
93210 tn?1287457826 I only had 80 pounds to lose, too, but I've gained and lost it many time over the past 25 years, and my top weight was a full 100 pounds over my ideal weight. That was the only reason they agreed to do it. They took a detailed account of every weight loss clinic I had ever attended, how much I lost over how much time, etc. As it was, I was the thinnest person ever banded in the clinic. The anesthetist had serious misgivings, as did my GP.
Avatar n tn I went today for my first week weight check and my second shot.....my weight loss for my first week is 9.5 pounds!!!! Anyone else using Phentermine and B12? I would love to hear how other people have done on these meds. Good Luck to everyone trying...I want to hear your story!
Avatar n tn Thank you for mentioning this. I'm not a overly large person in my opinion but every time I take the BMI it tells me I'm overweight. My family, friends and coworkers say I look fine for my height. I know I have a larger bone structure because I can't get bracelets to slide over my hands, I can't wear anklets and I can wear blazers unless I have them altered to fit after I buy them because my shoulders are wide.
Avatar f tn I started the synthroid today BUT as im reading more and more I read that GLUTEN FREE and PALEO-ish diets are the way to go for Hashimoto's patients (inflammation and allergies etc) . Now, although i have gained way to much weight (unwarranted) due to my condition it wouldn't be too bad to go into a diet but gluten free and paleo really seem way out of control strict to me.
Avatar n tn I know its a bit late for this post but maybe you are the ideal weight for your height already and your body knows you dont need to lose any weight? I read that the other day as it happens. Its hard to know what we should believe off the net though. I need to lose about 7 pounds to be within normal weight for my height but even 1200 cals a day plus exercise at the mo isnt shifting so much as a pound so i am in a similar situ.
Avatar n tn is only appropriate in the context that these are the weights that have been found to be consistent with the lowest mortality. If one looked at the 1983 Metropolitan Height-Weight table for a women 162.5 cm tall, the weight for a small body frame is between 47.3-52.3 kg, for a medium frame the weight is between 51.4-57.3 kg and for a large frame the weight is between 55.5-62.3 kg.
Avatar f tn Sorry I don't know the style name but it wears better than any others I have tried. The women on the heart forum regularly discuss this undergarment - the pain the open heart women endure is horrendous. You have to keep some compression to aid in the healing of the bone they crack open for surgery. If you don't have one on 24/7, the weight of those mammary glands pull on the surgical site, and its very painful.
Avatar f tn Dear Marty, First let me express my deepest sympathy on the loss of your beautiful daughter, Leslee. I just looked at your pictures and now I can put a face with the name of the brave lady who fought so hard against her cancer. I wish you peace in your memories, and I shed several tears as I followed your posts. G-d bless you for the support you gave her. Thank you for your post to me, it actually calmed me and I understand where you're coming from.
Avatar n tn And if this area exists after 4 years, would it be bigger? I have gained alot of weight and feel very full in the abdomen. Please give me some insight. Im 46 yrs old and still very hypothyroid with a level of 57 tsh. They havent given me any stats on the cystic area..Should I get that info from them?? HELPPPPPPPPPP!!!!
Avatar f tn I work out 6 days a week with cardio and strength training. My weight in in the middle/lower end of the ideal range for my height. I've always had thinnng hair - its just me of those things. My doctor thought it may be thyroid related but that want the case. I never even thought much about my boobs - I had a kid and breast feed for a year, Relationship was good for our daughter was born.
Avatar dr m tn But now we know that even young, thin women who don't snore can have significant obstructive sleep apnea. Even more, many people who don't officially meet the criteria for obstructive sleep apnea still can have significant breathing pauses but wake up too quickly to be classified as an apnea. These are the patients that are commonly diagnosed with idiopathic hypersomnia.
545538 tn?1295995617 if i was overweight the only way I would treat is lose weight or if absolutely necessary take weight based ribavirin. There have been some obese people on this forum that have taken as much as 2000 mg of ribavirin and still did not clear.
Avatar f tn You'll pee out the excess water weight soon enough. In the meantime, soaking, elevating and skin-creaming will ease things.
148588 tn?1465782409 Sorry it all wouldn't fit..... http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/hep.25762/full ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Lifestyle intervention Many studies indicate that lifestyle modification may reduce aminotransferases and improve hepatic steatosis when measured either by ultrasound7 or MR imaging and spectroscopy.
Avatar n tn I took xanax for a brief time until I could get some things in my life calmed down (divorce, death of cousin, and then daughter on life support) and it really helped with the IST. I also lost alot of weight during that time and I think it might have helped with the long term IST symptoms. I used to shoot up to about 180 and then come back down to about 120, but now I seldom go past 135 and come down to about 90 when it's acting up. One thing I really hate about the IST is going to sleep.
964234 tn?1331952807 When he was born he was 8 lbs 3 ozs, and he already weighs 16 lbs he is not over weight by any means he is tall too, and is just going to be a big guy like his dad (he was 10lbs at birth and is 6'3 and 240lbs now) His hunger is not satisfiable... he literally spends his entire day eating and sleeps all night long. He eats between 35-40 ozs of formula per day. I have been reading up on baby cereal and there are so many different opinions.
Avatar f tn Those of us who carry extra weight usually understand that our health is compromised the further we are away from that ideal weight. That can include many of her problems you list, including foot and other joints problems. Our organs also work harder when we are larger. Health care workers are having to work harder to care for larger patients, too. that does not excuse them from doing their job.
Avatar n tn [Other than many repeated viral illnesses in the past six months] I am at an ideal body weight, I exercise 3-4 times weekly, and I don't smoke. I take Premarin and progesterone daily. This past winter, after suffering a fairly severe flu, I began to experience what has been diagnosed as inappropriate sinus tachycardia for the first time. For the 37 years prior, I never had any cardio issues whatsoever.
Avatar f tn Did you know it increases the amount of space be 30%!! I've heard a story that the reason why women started laying down for birthing in the first place is when male doctors came onto the scene and they thought it was more ladylike to be laying down with the sheets covering your parts but who knows lol.
Avatar n tn Just from reading posts,,,overall it seems to me that men tend to lose more then women. I am on my 6 month of tx and lost about 8 to 10 lbs but the advantage is I can eat anything and all I want LOL However,,,like I said My hubby is same point in tx and lost 20lbs,,,he started at 185 and down to 165 now but everyone is so different that you may not lose that much. My dr explained that this medicine tends to make you lose even though you are eating.
Avatar n tn of course ! unless you the 2 male things we have down there..stop it..HCG does not in anyway help with weight loss..need proof...just ask...
Avatar f tn It seems like he weight is coming off on its own now. I don't crave anything. I'm hoping to reach my goal by January. I'm not worried about the holidays because I have been turned off all food and I don't think it will be difficult to continue following what the naturopath has told me to do. By the way...eat a lot of yogourt..it really facilitates weight loss. I eat about 500g of yogourt per day and drink 2-3 glasses of milk per day.
Avatar m tn But perhaps more important, if you're actually 100 pounds over your ideal weight, the health consequences of not losing that weight may be more serious at this point than the virus itself. Another reason to wait -- again assuming no fibrosis progression -- is to factor in the SVR trial data from VX-950 which will be flowing in all throughout 2007.
