It has been numb constantly and the strange feeling is starting to become annoying. There are no other problems I am aware of except some skin peeling on my foot. That space should be taller, but your disc there has lost fluid so the bones are closer together-- this is DDD. At C5 is an osteophyte, a calcified growth common with DDD. Consider it a scar. Surgery is not always the best therapy. Please explore all options of treatment.

This type of pain makes me want to either A. Vomit or B. Pass out, but I refuse to do either in front of co-workers, so I manage to pull myself up from off of the ground shaking and naseauted while around them when this occurs.

One eye (never the same one) will focus on distance, and the other will remain fuzzy and unfocused for up to a few minutes. When I went to my neuro, he had me put my feet together and stand that way for a few seconds; no problem, but when he told me to close my eyes, I would have fallen if he hadn't caught me. There is a medical term for that, but I don't remember it. I also have short-term memory problems.

But that didn't work either and I ended up somehow with the bones rubbing against each other plus nerve pain. Went back in a bunch more times but so far no luck. I would LOVE to get off these pain meds. It's one thing to take a Percocet once in a while for a toothache or after a surgery but being a slave to pain medication is no fun. I'm on the Duragesic patch, 75 mg., plus 45 mg. oxycodone every 4 hours and Cymbalta and Clonidine for nerve pain.
