Common Questions and Answers about Foot bones grow together

foot

Avatar f tn It is still not lined up at all! Is what he telling us true? How can it grow back together when it is not lined up? My husband and I both asked him this question numerous times and each time we were told, "Don't worry about that bone." I personally have never broken anything other than my tailbone so I have no experience in this area at all. Thank you for any help and or insight you can give me!
Avatar f tn CP persons have bone growth that goes faster than muscle growth thus the curved foot etc so if you strengthen muscles they grow stronger and curved foot etc will straighten out plus walking becomes easier etc many great things .
Avatar n tn For the last 6-8 weeks I have been having pain when I step on my feet in the morning, it feels like the bones in the top of my foot are pressing together, I generally goes away once I walk on it until I sit a while. Until later in the evening it beguins again. Lately though it feels like a nerve or something is being pinched in my shin and I have to take ibuprophen before going to bed so that it doesn't wake me.
Avatar m tn ( started callin me big foot lolz ).........n said dat i hav d potential to grow.........so while surfin i came across dis wonderful site n decided to ask !!!
Avatar f tn Foot pain can have many causes. I have hammer toes on both feet and bones that are pushing together and inflaming nerves. In my case it's because of RA, but my podiatrist said he sees patients with similar symptoms that are caused by things like obesity and, yes, bad shoes. He created custom molds for my feet so I'll have inserts in my shoes to relieve the pain.
1558461 tn?1295392601 could simply be the muscles and ligaments of those stressed joints yelling in protest. Or causing other bones to rub together differently and thus cause joint inflammation. Have you been seen for the chronic pain in your toe? It sounds like you need to get to the root cause.
Avatar f tn The foot and ankle are made up of many small bones. In between these bones, like any other joint like your knee or hip, there are small pads of cartilage that cushion the space between them. Over time, these pads can wear away (osteoarthritis), and when the bones grind together it causes pain. I'm not saying this is what's happening, but it's one possible cause.
Avatar f tn when i feel it, I can feel three bones, two close together on top and one right below them. It hurts when I lie down flat on a hard surface and I actually have to lift one butt cheek to be comfortable. It also causes pain if i sit too long or lay on my back for awhile. I was just wondering if there was something wrong that is causing it to stick out, or for me to be able to feel three bones? I know its not normal, but is it something that I need to be worried about?
Avatar f tn However, if your plantar fascia and other ligaments are weak or injured then pads of fat can slip out and cause lumps. The bones held together by these ligaments may slip from place and cause a lump which looks like hernia. You need to ask your doctor for a MRI. Usually this will be treated conservatively with a cast followed by physiotherapy but you need a definitive diagnosis before treatment is started as the treatment may vary with the type of injury. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar n tn I SUFFER WITH CRPS POST FOOT SURGERY. MY FOOT HAS ATROPHIED. THE BONES IN MY TOES ARE FUSED TOGETHER. BURNING HORRIBLE. I GET KETAMINE INFUSION EVERY 2 MONTHS FOR TWO THREE HOUR SESSIONS. HAD 6 DAY INPATIENT KETAMINE INFUSION, 6 DAY IVIG INPATIENT INFUSION AND 6 DAY LIDOCAINE INPATIENT INFUSION WHEN IN 4TH DAY I SUFFERED FROM LIDOCAINE TOXICITY & HAD TO BE TAKEN OFF INFUSION. NOTHING HAS HELPED. MY CONDITION IS ONLY GETTING WORSE WITH TIME. SUFFERED SINCE 2009.
Avatar f tn Mine do that! Even if I move my foot my hips crack and pop. It's normal. Mine started doing it at 22 weeks.
Avatar f tn I had surgery in 2005 and stayed with pins or metal to rejoin the 2 bones together. The surgeons had to operate and take a small piece of bone from my right hip and placed it between the 2 bones in my right foot to try and rejoin them. Unfortunately I continued to have pain until it eventually became really difficult for me to walk even 100 meters. I went back to the hospital where a scan and X-rays were done.
Avatar f tn I have just got home from a check up at hospital with my 3 year old in regards to his walking,(see my previous comments) they have told me that his shin bones are bent inwards and this is common, between the ages of 3-7 as he grow they will straighten and he will fall over less this is also the reason why his right foot turns in slightly! I'm not so convinced?? I also expressed my other concerns and was basically ignored as we were only there to have his walking issue addressed??

Avatar f tn chronic fatigue, pain all over (feels like the pain goes deep into my bones), heat sensitive, hair loss on my arms and legs (and the patches where I no longer grow hair are pale, smooth spots), no menstruation since last November (6 months ago!) I've never had a baby/gotten pregnant. Never had surgery for anything.
Avatar f tn I have a son like this also. My first born was always in the 90th percentile and my second son was always in the 10th. They are a year apart so it's a good visual of how different kids can be. My smaller son has never been a huge eater but a healthy one. That's really key, keep them eating healthy. Our doctor checks how they are growing based on their own growth curve. My younger son though smaller was always healthy in his growth at each well visit.
Avatar f tn The pain is very bad when I walk up stairs my doctor said the bones are rubbing together. I take 800 ml Ibuprophen it doesnt help at all. what else can I try that may be of help?
Avatar f tn It sounds like you may have either had a serious sprain or broken some of those tiny bones that are in the foot. You definitely should see your doctor and he will probably order an X-ray. That sounds painful. I twisted mine before by missing a step, and the hospital put on a cast and this relieved the pressure on my foot and made it feel a lot better. Mine was just a sprain.

Avatar f tn It started to hurt every time I would walk long distances and would feel like I had my socks bunched up under my toes. It graduated to constant ball of foot pain with numbness in the ball of foot and toes with tenderness between the metatarsal bones on both feet. Has anyone ever had this or currently has the same symptoms? I have been to my GP who thinks it is a foot issue. I have an appointment with an Orthopedic, but could not get an appointment until April.

Avatar f tn Putting any weight on an operated foot or ankle can do damage to the repair that’s been done. Bones need time to heal. Plates or screws that may have been added during surgery need the bones to heal around them. Adding weight too soon can interrupt this important internal healing process.
