Common Questions and Answers about Broken foot bones in children

foot

Avatar f tn t correlate to how our internal bones are structured (which is what really matters with giving birth), My sister is 4 foot 11 and had two of her children naturally and one via c section due to the baby being breech. Honestly, I don't think they know how the pelvic bone will come into play until a woman is actually delivering. Good luck to all!!
3763041 tn?1354906251 Thanks ladies! It ***** so bad, and I don't even want to tell my doc cause i'm supposed to be off my feet not running into walls and breaking them lol. Oops!
Avatar f tn I went to urgent care got x-rayed and have a broken foot. The Dr. there refused to set the bone even though they were extremely slow that day. Seems the orthopedic drs. In town don't like them setting the bones. They want to set the bones themselves. That's ok but I'm sitting here in extreme pain for 5 days trying to get in to his office to get my bones set. I am planning on giving the dr. An ear full Monday morning, but there should be a law where this is not allowed.
Avatar n tn Sometimes it is best to take them to the doctor and get the proper wrap for the foot that will make it heal faster...with so many bones in the feet a micro fracture could take months to heal without proper attention. Let me know how he is....
Avatar f tn It sounds like you may have either had a serious sprain or broken some of those tiny bones that are in the foot. You definitely should see your doctor and he will probably order an X-ray. That sounds painful. I twisted mine before by missing a step, and the hospital put on a cast and this relieved the pressure on my foot and made it feel a lot better. Mine was just a sprain.
1542537 tn?1293207098 Hi, broken bones take a varying amount of time to heal, mostly depending upon the type of bone broken, the age of the person, and the way in which the bone is broken. Larger broken bones, for example the bones in the thigh, or both bones of leg would take a great deal longer to heal, usually six weeks to three months in the average healthy adult. Begin physical therapy as soon as is practical. That will help.
1196614 tn?1265075773 I had a auto accident and I broke the tibia and fibula bones. After 12 days in the hospital without having the surgery on my leg I was told by the doctors that it wouldn't matter the long waiting...Ok so, when I finally got the surgery and after seeing an X-ray of my leg I had some questions from my own. I asked the doctor why my fibula looked like is still broken on the x-ray.
Avatar n tn I broke my tibia and fibula on oct 10th/2010, and had surgery, and plates and screws put in on both bones. It is now january 6th/2011. Im still not walking, or putting any pressure on it, and the doctor said that it is healing very slowly.. when i take off my boot brace, my foot is very crooked when it is flat on the ground. the doctor doesnt seem to know what is wrong. he said that the ex-ray looks straight, and everything looks good. it looks like my foot is just flopping over to the side..
Avatar n tn I have no arch left as my bones have all collasped. I also get 3mthly cortizone shots into my broken bones to relieve the inflamation the best pain relief ever. Are you still getting any treatment??
Avatar m tn From what my orthopaedic said, I have numerous breaks in my heel and talus bones, but nothing that surgery can do to help me. My swelling is almost as bad as it was from day 1, he keeps telling me this normal. He said I'll be on crutches for 3-4 months and luckily I have a boot and not a cast. Is all this normal?
Avatar f tn In August 2011, I fell from a window (30 ft) escaping a house fire. Among my broken bones were my L1 and L5 vertebra, my tailbone, my pelvis, and my right hip. Over 18 mos later I'm back on my feet and at age 25, my husband and I are expecting our first child. I'm 6 1/2 weeks pregnant and going to the doctor next week for my first checkup. I have pins in my pelvis and more metal in my hip that aided in the healing process.
Avatar m tn I was in a half cast, basically on the back of my leg and below the foot for a touch over a week, so I was unable to move my ankle and leg and was on crutches. Then 2 days ago I went to the outpatients department and the doc took the cast off me and told me to start walking on it with the aid of crutches as it isn't the weight bearing bone. He said that the bone will heal by itself without the cast and even with me putting a bit of pressure on it.
Avatar f tn I had a bad accident july 2012 on a motorcycle, i broke my hip, pinched sciatic nerve, broken ribs,Blood transfusion,TBI, after i was left with all of these broken bones my left foot was left with foot drop lots of pain stayed in bed almost a year learned to walk again from walker to crutches to hoping to now finally being able to walk until now i used about everything you can think of to get rid of the pain.
Avatar n tn I just did a little searching and I'm thinking I have Extensor Tenosynovitis on my left foot. Its painful when I walk and I feel the pain on the top of my left foot and it also hurt whenever I lift my front foot up and it also hurts when I go down the stairs. Just a little medical background: I'm 35 years old, male, 5'10, 240 lbs, and I get gout attacks from time to time (1-3 times a year). This pain started a year ago after I had gout attack on my left foot.
639543 tn?1297027634 Dameon went to the specialist today, and they did NOTHING AT ALL, they casted his arm and did an EYE TEST, my 2 month old son has 8!!! broken bones, and they tested NOTHING of his bones, they referred me to a specialist and they won't even get ahold of me for at least 1-2 weeks to even set up an appt. My question is, does anyone know of any GOOD bone specialists in New York State??
Avatar m tn The result was a double compound fracture of my right leg. Both major bones were broken and exposed about an inch about the ankle joint. Fortunately for me, when I arrived at the hospital, one of the best orthopedic surgeons in Las Vegas was on call. Two years, two surgeries (about 8 hours worth), a bone graft and six months in a wheel chair I am walking much better than I could have expected. My question; I generally wear softer soled shoes ( walking tennies, etc.
Avatar m tn Sounds like a torn ligament. It does take months almost a year to back to normal if you did tear it. if it is a sprain then it will still take months. It could be a nerve that got pinched. But nerve pain is usually burning pain or a radiating pain and not sharp. When I torn a ligament in my back I couldn't lift my foot either for a couple of months and could hardly walk for a long time. It will heal if that is the case.
1052851 tn?1307741160 I have severe osteoporosis, my bones are the age of a woman 87, I am 45. This illness was discovered following a grand mal seizure in which I passed on, and in order to revive me, my spouse hit my chest and back alternately so I would breath, which worked, but ended up breaking 4 vertibrae, which also wasnt spotted by the hospital, and it wasnt until a week following I insisted on an xray, then tah-dah. Anyhow, I often break bones, primarily my toes and fingers.
