1558461 tn?1295392601 could simply be the muscles and ligaments of those stressed joints yelling in protest. Or causing other bones to rub together differently and thus cause joint inflammation. Have you been seen for the chronic pain in your toe? It sounds like you need to get to the root cause.
1263295 tn?1269927250 Osteoarthritis of the hindfoot (the bones and joints between your heel and the front of your ankle) is not uncommon. It can be caused by normal wear and tear, or an undiagnosed deformity in the bones. One signal that the problem is in the hindfoot is that the majority of your pain happens when you rotate the foot laterally (side to side, like rolling your ankle).
1170694 tn?1285097509 Hello and welcome, This is common with FM and I believe what your describing is called crepitus. It's fairly harmless. Sometimes it can be caused by arthritis in the joints- other times it's just caused by cartilage rubbing on bones or other tissues. I wouldn't worry too much about it. I have it really bad and have had it for years. It's just something you learn to live with I guess. Heat helps the pain when the joints are swollen.
Avatar f tn The Lisfranc fracture is a fracture or dislocation of the joints in your mid foot, here some small bones forms an arch on top of the foot between your ankle joint and toes. I would suggest you to go for a second opinion and try to delay fusion and if possible go for a second surgery. If there is no scope for healing after a second opinion and recent scans then you are left with option for fusion as this will stabilize your foot.
Avatar m tn is a deformity that usually occurs at the head of the one of the five long bones or just due to deficiency of vitamins. So you can take some multivitamins for few days and see if it works. Consult to your physician for further examination. Hope it helps.Regards.
Avatar f tn how can i get my foot to move like it used to before i broke it cause now its stiffened up so much that it hurts when i try popping any of the bones
Avatar f tn I had 6 joints in foot fused, bone graft from heel, 2 plates, several screws and fused bones shortened due to deformity and was fine until stitches were taken out and cast put on. A day later my cast is feeling too tight but color of toes is good unless I put it down. Have kept my foot up and mostly above my heart and iced for last 4 days without much relief but situation has not gotten worse. Orthopedic doc said Advil is not good as it keeps bones from healing but I need to reduce swelling.
Avatar f tn there is no infection, dysplasia or anything just the bones ache really really bad. I bought a full body pillow which worked for a while and changed the mattresses but the last week its got worse :( lucky to get 2hrs of unbroken sleep per night...I work from 5.30am till 6pm so sleep is a must.
Avatar f tn It has only really been this last 4-5 years that I have noticed the cronic fatigue and if I go out now I use either a walking stick, wheelchair or mobility scooter depending on how I am feeling on the day. Recently however I have noticed pain in my joints and the only way I can describe it is my bones feel cold and I can't seem to do anything to warm them up.
Avatar f tn re also taking K2 with it, so the metabolized calcium in your body goes to the bones, joints and teeth and NOT in the soft tissues! (D3 helps metabolize calcium, K2 helps deliver it to the right places) And have you rules out low thyroid function? Please ignore, if I already mentioned it to you before. You need Free T3, Free T4 & Reverse T3 for accurate thyroid testing! It's very important to ask & insist on these tests.
Avatar n tn Usually, a CT scan is performed to determine the extent of the coalition and also reveal the joints/bones involved. After resection of a coalition, patients tend to benefit from orthotics/braces to limit motion. If she continues to have pain, she would need a fusion of the joints. Can you tell me what bones are involved in the coalition so I could answer your questions in more detail?
Avatar f tn Six months later I was diagnosed with fractures in both heels and have been in two casts, crutches and another walking boot. I am still in pain! I just had an MRI that shows Marrow Edema in four bones of my foot. What does this mean? I do not see the Dr. again for two weeks! I can't be on my feet for any length of time with suffering excruciating pain!
Avatar f tn My bones/joints are looser than normal and that's where the pain comes from
Avatar f tn I found out i have low vitamin d and have been taking supplements since and my aches and pains in my bones and joints have decreased
Avatar n tn Hello :-) Is it possible to have a "compression" neuropathy in the feet due to severe OA ? I have been diagnosed with Charcot Joint by a rheumatologist but have NO symptoms other than collapsing bone structures. Long ago the podiatrist said the severe destruction from the OA resulted in nerve compression and hence the neuropathy. The neurologist said the neuropathy (of unknown origin) caused the collapse of the bones/Charcot Joints.
Avatar m tn m keeping my foot angled. I am also starting to develop pain in the bottom of my foot behind the toe joints. I called last Friday to request an appt with a specialist but due to the holiday they were closed, and their message also states that referrals take 72 hours to happen. I'm sure it will eventually but this is getting to be a real problem as I've already missed out on a few activities that I had planned (football game, etc) because I just can't be on my feet that long..
Avatar f tn This sounds like Sciatica to me. I have that problem, and have had that problem since I was a teenager.

Avatar f tn I'm 34 weeks today, and since yesterday my bones have been hurting really bad! Especially on my knees, joints and wrists. Is anybody else experiencing this? What have you done for relief? I'm currently taking my vitamins and iron pills due to me being severely anemic, I also read on my tums bottle that they are good calcium supplements so I'm taking 2 of those daily. I've been drinking lots of milk as well.
657653 tn?1224680706 It is a form of arthritis that causes the gradual breakdown of the cartilage that cushions the joints. Movement then causes the bones to rub against each other, which is painful. Degenerative arthritis is characterized by inflammation, breakdown and eventual loss of the cartilage of the joints. This can be caused by obesity, bad posture, repeated trauma or injury, and overuse. In some cases, degenerative arthritis may be hereditary.
Avatar f tn I Found out that the bones in kids legs and feet grow faster than their muscles. This can cause pain in the joints because the muscles have not stretched to the length of the fast growing bones. His pcp suspected this when my son could not flex his foot back to 90 degrees. I went to a sports medicine doctor who spotted this immediately. He suggested stretches for my son-- he had to stand about 3 steps away from a wall and then lean forward keeping his feet flat in the ground...

Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with Fibromylagia and I believe that I have Hypermobile joints, in where you are a lot more flexible than normal. I was wondering if anyone knows what might be causing all of this pain, because I believe that it is far worse than just Fibromylagia. My feet seem to becoming flat and I have such severe ankle and knee pain that it keeps me awake at night sometimes.
