Common Questions and Answers about Fainting blood sight

fainting

Avatar n tn There are a number of things that can seem to set off this reaction including being frightened, the sight of blood, and getting hurt. The actual mechanism of how this reaction takes place in the body is still not exactly understood. And so, there is a lot of research ongoing to determine why vasovagal reactions occur and how to diagnose them.
Avatar m tn In vasovagal syncope, triggers include prolonged standing, sight of blood, pain, and fear. Before losing consciousness, one can develop nausea, sweating and pale skin. Typically return to consciousness occurs after 1 to 2 minutes. Dehydration and stress can also exacerbate this. It can be diagnosed with a tilt table testring. Cardiac arrhythmias – which basically mean irregular heart rythms.
Avatar m tn Occasionally I have these episodes which happen very suddenly where I experience a static sound in my ears, hot flushes loss of balance, loss of hearing, some loss of sight, nausea and heart palpitations, and as of my last episode I experienced loss of sensation in my legs. These episodes cause fainting or near fainting. I also get cold to the touching go as white as a ghost.

This type of response is only a worry when it happens very often, or if the individual has a heart condition, as the vagus nerve causes slowing of the heart when overstimulated. If you are fainting regularly then you should visit your doctor as soon as possible to find out what the possible causes are and what treatments are available.

Avatar m tn In my experience it is not abnormal for males to faint at the sight of blood or a needle. We use to always watch the male in cases of blood or needles. It seemed the bigger, stronger appearing males were more likely to faint in these situations. If at all possible make sure you are in a sitting position and place you head between your knees before they even get the needle out. Distraction can help. I agree with the physician and with jamlws that suggested you consult your physician.
415098 tn?1214856836 I layed down and about 5 minutes later my eyesight and hearing came back fully. I have blood pressure problems so i thought that could be the issue but my blood pressure and heart rate where in perfect range. If anyone has any ides on what this could be that would be great.
Avatar f tn I am not sure what category this goes in exactly; I chose the one I thought was best... I have times where I am very relaxed while sitting, and before I decide to get up, I will stretch very hard, and hold it, but... Sometimes, in the process of doing so, I first lose my hearing, then I stop seeing colors, then everything fades away in a donut with a shrinking hole, then I pass out.
Avatar f tn has anyone else have felt like almost fainting in the shower or even standing inline at the grocery stores?
Avatar f tn I had to wear a heart monitor and press it when I felt the episodes, but in the end they just said it was normal for me as if someone passes out in the sight of blood which is not the case. They had me go to a kidney specialists and see why I had protein in my urine and in the end they just told me to drink more water. Soon ill be going to a neurologist and a ear, nose, and throat doctor. None of my parents sides has problems only high blood pressure, diabetes, and something else.
Avatar f tn m considering a nosebleed like my daughter used to have where there is blood everywhere and he has to have pressure plugs put into his nose to help stop the bleeding) There are many reasons for a teen to pass out; anything from too low blood sugar to low blood pressure. Dehydration can also cause someone to pass out. One question I have is he dizzy or lightheaded?
Avatar n tn I turned 13 in October(2013), last December(2012) I started to go dizzy, since August(2013) I've been dizzy more a less everyday( its December 2013 now) I recently just started my period- it could be this. I feel dizzy alot after late nights or no sleep- it could be tiredness. I went to the doctors in february(2013) they tested my blood pressure, my ears and my sight, it didn't reveal anything. My mum, grandma and great- grandma have diabetes- so I could have this.
Avatar f tn Has anyone else experinced a fainting/passing out moment? Definitely not from low blood sugar.
Avatar f tn I'm 11 weeks and I have been continously fainting at work. I'll lose my vision and hearing and just completely pass out. They keep telling me it's because I'm dehydrated but I'm drinking plenty of water and Gatorade and my blood pressure is very low. No one will really look more into it. I am very scared for my health and about losing my job over it. Please help.
Avatar n tn Possible low blood sugar or fluctuating sugar levels ,if you faint a loyt need to have it checked out at your Doctor .
Avatar f tn After a couple of minutes I feel like I really need to sit down (both times I have been standing up). Then My eye sight starts to fade and then my hearing...all I can hear is a very loud ringing. I have ear problems so I'm used to tinitus anyway but its so loud everything else is blurry. I never actually faint and I'm fully aware the whole time. Within a few minutes without doing anything it stops and my eyesight and hearing suddenly come back.
Avatar f tn I had one the other day. Not sure if it will happen again. But i heard once uou faint it will happen again. When i fainted theyncalled 911.
4545793 tn?1394592544 Im 17 weeks and 2 days and I was just reading about my future 18 week and it mentioned since of increased blood flow there are chances of fainting has anyone fainted before or am I being paranoid lol
Avatar f tn I had paramedics called out to me and had tests done like blood, egg and blood pressure. My blood was fine, i have a very fast blood rate and low blood pressure. Before i faint, my heart starts to race and first aiders have counted my pulse and has come to 114 per minute. I can feel my heart rate pulsing really fast before i faint, and i also get very clammy hands.
1126418 tn?1326165992 Black outs or fainting mean blood is not getting to your brain it can be benign and it can be serious. This needs to be addressed ASAP at least with your GP.
Avatar m tn I think maybe you have eye problem. Try to consult any optometrist.
Avatar f tn s something that I should call about and be seen right away. It could be a problem with blood pressure, blood sugar or a sign of something else. That said, with me it was a problem with blood sugar levels. Drinking lots of water, eating steadily all day with plenty of healthy calories, and not overdoing my activity mostly resolved it. And my baby was totally healthy and actually really strong. It was just me having the problem. So your baby could be fine.
Avatar f tn But there are very traumatic things that may make one faint ie; the sight of blood, hearing a loved one has died, etc. Fainting is the body's way of protecting us, when it senses that what we are seeing or hearing is too much to handle, it sort of "shuts down" regroups and we wake up feeling fine. That's the only way I know how to explian it. Yes, panic attacks make us feel like we will faint, but I've never heard of anyone actually fainting.
Avatar f tn I had horrible timing with my fainting spells last pregnancy. I was always really sick with morning sickness and once I passed out while on the stairs and fell down half of them. Woke up at the bottom of the stairs so confused. It's an unfortunate thing but also a bit normal. The amount of blood in your body is increasing and that is usually what causes it. If it happens a lot you should definitely go in and get some blood work done.
Avatar f tn Are you drinking enough as I feel faint when I am dehydrated. Did they do any blood tests to see if you are lacking in anything or if your sugar levels are off?
