fainting

Avatar n tn Those aren't just symptoms for just those 2 issues. It can be anything. Just talk to your doctor and get checked out. Mine is hypoglycemia and I do that a lot but normally can feel it coming on so I know to sit before it happens. It may not be any of these things so you need to call your doctor.
378273 tn?1262097621 Thanks to both Musikbox and Jerry: Your information was very helpful!. From what Musikbox said about low heart rates it is possible my heart rate was that low and that was the reason I passed out last week while in Afibs. It seems odd though, because usually when in Afibs the heart speeds up. I guess there is just no way of knowing exactly what my heart was doing. The blood tests are back and everything is normal.
1923882 tn?1352250106 Lightheadedness and fainting can be common during pregnancy. Sometimes it is due to low blood sugar, and sometimes it is caused by moving to fast or standing up too quickly. If it happens alot then you may want to go get checked.
203342 tn?1328737207 In some people, fainting can occur without a serious underlying disease like at the time of death of a near one (a moment of sudden and intense grief), on seeing vomitus or on seeing blood (while visiting a hospital). In a good no. of people, fainting is due to some underlying problem that is mainly a cardiovascular problem or a neurological one. In old age, one of the commonest causes of fainting is “sick sinus syndrome”.
Avatar n tn When i experience the dizzines my pupils tend to get larger. To the point where it happend at school and I was taken to the sick room and they asked about drugs, ( which I'm not on). I was told I am anemic, low iron. about a year ago. And thats the only thing that is wrong with me that they know about. I had two E.C.G's and both were fine, same with the blood test. They put me on a heart monitor and that was also fine.
Avatar f tn Shortly after I stopped taking the Sertraline (in the middle of September 2019), I experienced fainting (while I was also on my period), but I experienced almost fainting the week after my period was gone, as well as the week after that. Those two occasions where I almost fainted were the only times I left the house and I felt faint only after ~30 mins of light walking. I stopped fainting/feeling faint after that.
Avatar n tn There is a mechanism called the valsalva maneuver that lowers heart rate when downward pressure is applied as in taking a bowel movement that could potentially decrease blood flow to the brain long enough to cause fainting. However, I would certainly take my husband to the doctor for a full work-up.
2086477 tn?1332611994 Some say that I get up very fast and my blood has not enough time to travel to my brain (why dont I pass out while I am on my way to the toilet then?) others say that while urinating first thing in the morning the water ballance in the body dropps (I can not understand the issue.. Does someone have the same? Does anyone knows what to do (not to do?) I have to mention that I have MS, which is a neuroligical condition.. Guess it can contribute as well.. and I am 31. Thank you in advance !
10777943 tn?1412955415 I'm the same, I get terrible fainting spells during pregnancy. I know its not low blood pressure because I've had preeclamplsia through both pregnancies but interestingly my iron levels have been really low particularly this pregnancy. I had an iron infusion last week and haven't fainted since. Maybe get your iron checked?
Avatar f tn Yes reduced muscle movement on left side of heart or hypokinesia would make it difficult for the blood pressure to be maintained. This could result in a drop in blood pressure once you either sit up from lying down or stand up suddenly. Please follow up with the cardiologist as this can further result in decreased ejection fraction. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar f tn A heart condition might be the reason for my fainting spells but why am I getting the severe cramping/spasms? If there is anyone out there who has had similar occurances please let me know. I would rather know than not know what is happening to me.
Avatar f tn I went in the shower and felt faint, called for my Mum and after a few seconds I did actually faint and lose consciousness. For the next few weeks I was feeling really tired all the time, nauseated and getting bouts of dizziness so I basically spent weeks in bed. Due to being so inactive and hardly eating I ended up in hospital for 5 days with painful impacted constipation.

Avatar n tn I don't know if I am in the right place for this or not, but I have been fainting since I was 13 (now 30). It used to happen for no apparent reason (not from stress) & I went through many tests (EEG, EKG, etc) before they did the tilt-table test & figured out it was when adreneline was released into my system that heart rate went up/blood pressure down. I was on nadalol (sp)?
Avatar f tn Nearly all in the middle of the night, with stomach pain and getting out of bed. Once while still lying in bed...which was what made me go back to the doctor for futher tests. Now am 30 and have just had a positive tilt tray test, fainted after a few minutes. Am waiting to see doctor to get referral to neurologist for analysis.
Avatar m tn He sort of just fell and he did not put his arms out so i know he fainted while standing up, he hit his head on the ground hard and he was "sleeping" for about 30 seconds to a minute. My dad rolled him on his side and tried waking him up and he got up eventually. He does not know what happened or how he got in his bed, where he walked to about five minutes after he got up. So if anyone knows what this is or what is causing this it would help me out a ton thanks.
Avatar f tn Did u try finding out the reason?? I know fainting can be caused by many things during pregnancy but some can lead to more complex situation.. U ahould consult ur doctor as it could be due to high or low blood pressure or dehydration etc...
Avatar m tn Vomiting, bearing down to have a bowel movement, or conditions that drop blood pressure amplify the effects of the vagus nerve and redirects much blood to the gut which may lead to fainting. Dehydration, psychological triggers such as anxiety, panic disorder and stress, shock, drugs or alcohol, and heart arrythmia are other likely causes. It would be best to have a further evaluation done by your mother's doctor to rule out other causes.
Avatar n tn And so, there is a lot of research ongoing to determine why vasovagal reactions occur and how to diagnose them. You see, while vasovagal syncope is the number one cause of fainting in children, it is sometimes difficult to identify this as the reason because there is currently no definitive test. This means that some children end up getting a lot of other fruitless tests looking for other causes of passing out.
Avatar f tn I had horrible timing with my fainting spells last pregnancy. I was always really sick with morning sickness and once I passed out while on the stairs and fell down half of them. Woke up at the bottom of the stairs so confused. It's an unfortunate thing but also a bit normal. The amount of blood in your body is increasing and that is usually what causes it. If it happens a lot you should definitely go in and get some blood work done.
Avatar f tn s then it may be getting low. The 145 is actually high. My husband has high blood pressure, so we all take our blood pressure a lot.
Avatar m tn I am a 43 yr old male, not overweight and in decent shape. Ihave had fainting problems over the past 4 years. I used to think it was stress/anxiety issues but now I am not sure. I started going to my family doctor and the doctor diagnosis was vasovagal syncopy. I have been tested for the following and all came back normal: EKG's 2x a year Eco- cardiogram CT scan Blood work 1x a year Heart Monitor for 2 weeks - of course i did not faint when I had it.
341190 tn?1295467125 Hi everyone, Last time i was on here was about 2 years ago, well so much has happened, firstly i was fitted with a loop recorder to try and find out what was happening when i fainted then my 17 year old daughter told me she was pregnant, shock wasent the word, i got used to the idea and was actually looking forward to it, she then found a lump in her breast when she was 8 months pregnant and had to go for a biopsy she obviously wanted mum with her so i dragged myself along, just as they were cut
