Avatar f tn s something that I should call about and be seen right away. It could be a problem with blood pressure, blood sugar or a sign of something else. That said, with me it was a problem with blood sugar levels. Drinking lots of water, eating steadily all day with plenty of healthy calories, and not overdoing my activity mostly resolved it. And my baby was totally healthy and actually really strong. It was just me having the problem. So your baby could be fine.

Avatar n tn Cold chills can come from having the flu, or perhaps in your case with the fainting, could be something as simple as you not having enough protein to eat on a regular basis. Protein is like the wood in a fire, it burns and heats up a person. And if you ain't got no fire, you'll get cold. In addition, protein gives you energy, and if you don't have any, you can get pretty weak and light-headed. But there are many reasons why this happened to you, those are just my top two choices.
Avatar n tn However, fainting can be a big problem if it results in falling, especially for elderly. Fainting would also mean a lack of blood, and other organs such as liver or kidneys might be getting damaged over time from lack of enough blood. There is some evidence which is not at all conclusive that elderly people do better thinking-wise with a higher BP - again because of the blood flow. You can try getting extra salt, which could increase your "blood volume" and therefore your BP.

In old age, one of the commonest causes of fainting is “sick sinus syndrome”.
Avatar n tn I have copied this out for you, it happens quite frequently While there are uncommon serious causes of passing out in children, the majority of fainting episodes are brought about by reasons that are neither serious nor life-threatening. The most common reason for fainting in children is called vasovagal syncope [VAY-so-VAY-gull SEENK-oh-pee). Vasovagal syncope is an abnormal reaction of the nerves to otherwise normal circumstances. These nerves dictate the heart rate and blood pressure.
1176841 tn?1330832460 I was dx'd with POTS 2 yrs ago when I began having fainting spells. I also had a severely compressed spinal cord which required a 7 cervical fusion 1 yr ago - which seemed to help in stopping the fainting spells. Well, the spells are back to the point of passing out - just recently I had a 48hr heart monitor results should be in 7 to 10 days.

Avatar f tn I'm 11 weeks and I have been continously fainting at work. I'll lose my vision and hearing and just completely pass out. They keep telling me it's because I'm dehydrated but I'm drinking plenty of water and Gatorade and my blood pressure is very low. No one will really look more into it. I am very scared for my health and about losing my job over it. Please help.
