Cymbalta tingling

Common Questions and Answers about Cymbalta tingling

cymbalta

These medicines are thought to work by increasing the activity of chemicals called serotonin and norepinephrine in the brain. Where both Paxil and Cymbalta work on Serotonin the Cymbalta works on Norepinephrine which is the chemical that helps with pain sensation in the body. Since you had a problem with serotonin, just like I do, ask your doctor about Wellbutrin. This medicine focuses on Norepinephrine and dopamine which is an energy chemical.
i am having a bad tingling feeling in my both of my feet.where did this feeling come from and how can i make it stop...
It's most likely my long history of anxiety. So I switched from zoloft a couple months ago to Cymbalta for the tingling/burning feet. 60mg per day. I have the same feelings you do - chest pain and just feel out of it with nervousness - shaky too and insomnia. I take a little Valium if it gets too bad. I seem to be doing a little better this week. I noticed if I take the Cymbalta at night with my Tranxene (for sleep) then I sleep better.
I need advice! I have been on Cymbalta 60 mg a day and Trileptal 1,200 mg a day for a few years for bipolar depression and cuz of an insurance issue, I had to stop them cold turkey about 4 days ago. Besides the usual depression/anxiety feelings, I'm having tingling in my fingers, toes and lips, and my blood pressure which I usualy have to take meds to lower, is now dangerously low.
After ruling out the heart, it was confirmed that Prozac was causing the problems. After a month of being off it and only experiencing tingling through-out my body (like my limbs were going numb) and slight anxiety because of it, I was given a new medication. This time we were going to try Effexor. We started on a higher dose which made me wake every hour on the hour, feel gittery and terribly ill. They lowered the dose and I still couldn't handle it.
What exactly are cymbalta and lyrica? Aren't they anti-depressants? How do they help with the pain? Do they help with chronic fatigue as well? I have been diagnosed with chronic fatigue, and the aches and pains(especially legs from my thighs to my ankels) are leading the doctor to think fibromyalgia. I was just wondering about these meds because I NEED some relief and I've heard many mentions of these meds. Can they be taken with provigil?
Although I'm feeling much better, I'm now suddenly a little discouraged that the Cymbalta is masking my symptoms. I increased the Cymbalta to 30 mg a couple of weeks ago. I do not like being on these kinds of meds, but I don't know that I have a choice right now but I know that I don't want to be on them forever. Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.
hey everyone, How hard is it to get off cymbalta? i want to get of the Cymbalta that the ID put me on not too long ago...last December, just before christmas, 2011. so 8+months. I have never really been "on " an antidepressant, tried a few weeks here and there in the past 15 years and i was always in a stupor.. Doc said it would help with my pain. I was desperate. Came home with the script and cried. It is less than a year, and i went from 90mg to 60 in July 2012.
Has any one heard of or experienced being on Cymbalta and/or Neurontin and where the side effects suddenly became MS like symptoms after being on them for a year?
Hello. Cymbalta is useful for the tingling and pain of neuropathy. It includes diabetic neuropathy. I guess your blood sugar levels are normal. Is there a temperature difference between the two places ? The small blood vessels of the extremities constrict and give rise to pain in cold weather. This could be one more reason.
Hi I tried cymbalta for one day, after vomiting all morning I am not going to use this drug. After getting sick i have had intermittent numbness and tingling down my left leg and my small toe is kind of numb I am verry senseitive to side effects. Has any one had these kind of side effects? could this be something elce.
Now I had had the heart palpitations before but I have been noticing them a bit more. It did resolve a lot of my other symptoms like tingling/ burning feeling and anxiety. Also some shortness of breath but I am not sure if that is my asthama or what. This has been happening since I upped my dose. I just had a chest X ray which as normal ( I was worried about some kind of infection). But I am not sure if it the meds or just me...
Valerian root is safe to take with these other drugs. Cymbalta really isn't for everyone. If you're not getting pain relief in 2 weeks, insist on something else. Avoid the narcotics, because they will just make things worse in the long run. If your dx is depression, please please please stay on top of the pain. Be as proactive as possible with diet and exercise. Message me anytime.
I'm wondering if any of you have experience with Cymbalta or Lyrica.... Why was it prescribed - what symptom was it supposed to work for? how long did it take for it to begin working with your pain? Did you have any problems with side effects? Anything else you can add?
glad to find this site. Also have the tingling pins and needled, face left side to groin and feet for 4 years. Well controlled with Neurontin, which I was able to back off on to really low levels. Have had the fibro for 30 years. I had attributed the pain to my cervical disc issues as it was relieved by my neck collar, but my pain doc thinks its fibro.
I have craved it several times, today being one of the harder days. Part of the reason is I have tapered off of Cymbalta and am now on day 3 without it. I have to say the withdrawals have really caught me off guard. I have electricity shooting through my body but mostly through my head, dizziness, achiness, insomnia, runny nose, canker sores, upset stomach and stomach ache, tingly arms, touchy skin, headache, mood swings and irrational thoughts.
Cymbalta is not indicated for the treatment of anxiety disorders. This is an adrenergic agent that primarily effects the turnover of Norepinephrine in the central nervous system. The drug is a stimulant, which is why it is used to treat more severe forms of endogenous depression. Therefore, it is more likely to worsen anxiety. Never-the-less, the drug takes several weeks to accumulate to a steady-state (therapeutic) level, and adverse reactions would not appear following a single dose.
I have now been on 60 mg of Cymbalta for 2 weeks and 1 mg per day of clonazepam, the latter of which which have helped calm my panic attacks somewhat. I worry so much about the mid chest and back pain and tight breathing sensations being something awful like cancer that it consumes me. It's an awful way to not live life and be miserable and constantly scared.
Hi everyone. I have been on Cymbalta for a little over a month now and have noticed lately that my hands, tops of my feet, my knee/shin areas, and cheeks/lips seem to "fall asleep", like a tingling feeling. It is starting to drive me crazy. I never had this problem before, does anyone know if it could be from the Cymbalta? It seems to be working otherwise and I guess I could live with that sensation, but it's a weird and kind of annoying thing.
Just the title sounds like a suicide cococktail. I am seeing 2 docs , one Psych guy , and a neurologist.I have pathology in the cervical mri, but supposedly not enough to cause my symptoms. The Psychiatrist knows I'm going to the neuro guy, but the nuero doc doesnt know I'm seeing the Shrink( no offence). My symptoms , as I've posted many times , are numbness & tingling , with no overt pains for an overweight guy that still tries to be active . What does neurontin do.
Hi everyone, I am wondering if there is anyone else out there who has had issues of withdrawal from cymbalta. After trying many medications over the course of 10 years (for major depressive disorder) my psych and I settled on a combo of Wellbutrin and cymbalta. I have been on it for years and was instructed recently by a neurologist to go off it.
MY second question is about the anti-depressant Cymbalta. This anti affects both Norephineprine and seritonin. DOes anybody know if Cymbalta would have a negative effect, or worsen the effects of withdrawl from oxycontin. I am not sure whether or not the affect it has on norephineprine would counteract the negative effects of opiate withdrawl, or help? A doctors feedback would be helpful. Bottom line is that I have gotten a prescription for Cymbalta and don't no if I should take it or not?
lower back & right leg pain NOT very consistent 2001 after 2nd pregnancy. lower back & right leg pain VERY consistent 2006 after 3rd pregnancy. 2007 the start of wanting to chop my right leg off every night from the constant pain. 2008 dr prescribed me every pain med to try what helps. Tramadol 50mg 1/3xs a day was the winner! later that same year got in 2 car accidents. 1st one was horrible. hit from behind on the highway, spun around, & flipped over a couple of times.
For the past 3 months I have been suffering from lip tingling/numbness, mostly the left lower lip along with my tongue being numb. I have not lost the ability to taste but eating/drinking/smoking does, most times, aggravate the symptoms. A few weeks after the mouth symptoms, my hands started to get pins and needles. First one side, then the other now it can do it simultaneously. I also have had several episodes of just the pinky tips going numb.
I have recovered all motor function but still have sensory tingling and numbness on most of right side. Some doctors say it will dissapate as the blood reabsorbs, and that could take a while. Any thoughts or experience of others? Thanks.
I have been experiencing over the past several months numbness and tingling in my face. While it started as only occassionally, it is now occuring on a daily basis, although not all day, with increasing duration. It primarily occurs on my left side but does extend across my forehead. I have no pain or headache with symptoms. I am a 38 years female, on no medications whatsover, not under any undue stress, good bp, heart rate, etc., slightly overweight, but otherwise completely healthy.
I have fibromyalgia, severe fatigue and depression. I take Cymbalta and use Cataflam for inflammation and Lunesta for sleep (PRN). Weight 117, 5'5" I eat well, drink wine and exercise when I feel well enough. I work full time and I live alone. I sleep poorly, nightly. The issue: For the past month, I am experiencing severe numbness and pain in my 3rd and 4th fingers during the night on both sides, but worse in my right hand.
Also, my nose and upper lip is tingling and it's driving me crazy! Feels like I walked through a spider web! I also' have a weird red round/disc mark on the top of my hand today. It doesn't hurt or itch, but it's very weird. Also been finding HUGE bruises on me that I have no idea where they came from. I'm so dissapointed, cause I was doing so well. Anyone advice or going through the same thing? Thanks.
But the tingling and num, bness started after I saw my doctor. he started me on Cymbalta for nerve pain and anxiety. He is also sending me for a nerve study. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Should I be concerned? Please help!!!!!!
I am on 1200 mg of neurotin a day and recently 30 mg of cymbalta. The meds covers some of the tingling but doesnot get rid of it. My doctors are stumped. I also have fogginess sometimes and a can't remember anything hardly. it goes from the left side of my face to my left foot. Please comment.
