My 3.5 yr. old son has begun stuttering. For a long time now (about 6 months or so) he's been repeating words, but I haven't been too concerned about this. However, over the last week or so, he struggles to get the first few letters out. For instance, he'll ask "wwwwwhhhere's the dog?". And I've noticed it often involves the "what", "where", and "why" questions. It doesn't happen all the time.
The clinical presentation of stroke-associated stuttering is variable and it is important to rule out neurogenic stuttering which typically appears following some sort of injury or disease to the central nervous system such as with stroke. My husband has just started stuttering. He doesn't do it all the time. But I was wondering why at the age of 51 is he stuttering now. I have known him since he was 18 and he has never stuttered. Could it be MS?
I am 16 years-old and have been stuttering for pratically all my life. I have been to a speech therapist for about 5 years but when i turned 15 she said that she can't help me aymore and I really have to push myself if Iwant my speech to get better. My parents told me that I got hit by a swing in the head at about 4 years old and it was an inch away from my eye. Ive been stuttering a lot lately and my head hurts(headaches). Yeah, I'll start stuttering and can't stop. I have to stop myself and say it very slowly. Sometimes it feels like my brain is just stuck.

Three years of age is very common for children to begin stuttering and a large percentage of young children do stutter.
My psychiatrist has just added Zyprexa to take with Prozac as the Prozac is not working like it used to work.I'm worried about the weight gain with Zyprexa, is there something else that could be used with the Prozac instead? Also until now I've also been taking 1 mg. Ativan in the morning and 1 mg Ativan before bed. Is it safe to use Ativan with the Zyprexa?
The anxiety is now almost constant, and I have developed a really bad problem stuttering, despite never having had speech problems in the past. I read that anxiety and stuttering are not directly linked and that it might be due to sertraline. Will this go away or will I just have to get on with it, and will this anxiety go away eventually or is it the sertraline causing it? Any ideas would be great please.
Can anyone give me some info. on zyprexa? Has anyone been given this to help stabalize their mood, during withdrawal? If so, please share with me if you benefited from this, and is this addictive as well?

I am experiencing burning feet,skin sensitivity and pains in my hands and feet during Zyprexa withdrawal,I`ve been on Zyprexa for 6 years and off it for about 5 months now.Please let me know if the burning feet and all other symptoms will go away with time? Has anyone quit Zyprexa successfully?

I was wondering if anyone on this website is taking zyprexa for racing thoughts and irritability. I started taking it in December for these symptoms but I have put on weight taking this drug. I am not sure if it is the drug itself or if my appetite has increased. In anycase, I am really depressed about this and am thinking of switching medications or just getting off the zyprexa itself. I am also taking 20 mg. of lexapro and this has not caused a past weight gain. Please help!
Are you referring to stuttering? If so, it might ease your worries to know that both our son and granddaughter stuttered for a few months at about the age of your daughter. I think it has to do with the anxiety of growing up and leaving Mom for short periods of time - as school, sports, other activities, etc.
I took Zyprexa 5mg for 3 nights only to help with sleep, but have not taken it for 2 nights. Had really difficulty getting to sleep and my sleep was really broken up. Is this normal for this med.

Your doctor should be recommending that you reduce your dosage of Zyprexa by 5mg a day every six days if you need to discontinue Zyprexa. Making it a week is just easier to remember. You can stop immediately if it’s an emergency, but I wouldn’t recommend doing that without a doctor’s supervision. The major problem with stopping antipsychotics is a sudden return of your symptoms.
hi, im a 23yr old woman who experienced her first episode in october last year, i was at first on 20mg of zyprexa and 1000 mg of epilim when i was in the hospital, and have slowly come down to 1.25 mg of zyprexa and 200mg epilim, been on the 1.25 mg of zyprexa for around a week now and want to reduce further, any advice on how to get down to nothing without going mental! went cold turkey off the meds in nov last year and it didnt go too well.
It was not getting any better, really it was very severe and I became like a skeleton and very irrational. I changed to a top pshychiatrist she gave me anti psychotic zyprexa 5 mg +anti depressant + wham within 4 days I was completely normal! Now for maintenance (3years down the line) I just take 1.25 mg zyprexa with low dose antidepressant, it keeps me completely stable.
In January of this year I began using Zyprexa for bipolar and psychosis. After 5 months of using the medication (20mg daily) I began experiencing some sexual side effects such as a dry orgasm, low sperm count, etc. - all of which were unexplainable. My psychiatrist asked that i stop the zyprexa immediately as it was causing an increase in prolactin levels, he asked that i stop the drug COLD TURKEY! (no weaning off)
- When I stopped the medication, i did not sleep for 4 days.
I have been taking Zyprexa 5 mg along with Prozac 60 mg for the past 3 months. I have been on Prozac for the past 12 years. On Zyprexa I began to experience Edema and weight gain, which was not great considering I have battled an eating disorder for the past 18 years. I called my doctor and he told me to just stop taking the zyprexa and the edema would go away. I asked him if I should wean down and he said no that there are no withdrawal symptoms.
